Devotary of Spontaneity Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Having read all the posts multiple times while absorbing very little information, here is what I remember. There's some cost to the Stone Shaman transferring Blades since new Bearers don't get Stormlight until the next Highstorm, but the Shaman should still feel free to take Blades from anyone they'd be willing to vote for. I don't like how the votes on Condensation appeared, vanished, and then came back in greater numbers. I've definitely seen trains on elims show up early and then vanish, but I'm not remembering any examples of resurgence at this time. The voters are mostly the same people with a few newcomers, which makes me think at least that Quinn/Fura aren't elim teammates with Connie. I do agree that elim!Quinn would have thought things through more with suggestions like giving Nightblood advice and giving the elims free rein with vote manipulation. SfS does seem like the type to publicly talk about roles, judging by the fact that they roleclaimed as a vote remover in their very first post in MR 46 (and nobody remarked on it) and then made sure to say that such a role didn't have to be evil after they used their power. I'd believe Kaladin!SfS would claim elim and then ask about Kaladin's powers. I do remember Danex being argumentative/contrary to popular opinion, but I think voting Illwei over Connie qualifies as that. If anything, I would go for secret role over elim at this point. I'm somewhat disappointed that Illwei has opinions on every player with posts except for me. 2

I think elim!Danex saw the Connie train and thought it would be easy enough and then backpedaled when he realized how it made him look, maybe after reading when I said that I would be sus of bandwagoners. If I could get you two, @Ookla the Araris Valerian, and @TJ Shade to switch to Danex I'm much more comfortable with that lynch. ~~Totally switching gears here for a minute~~ Say Connie does flip elim. Where would I stand? I'd probably still suspect Danex a little. Not as much, but a little. My suspicion of SfS would jump considerably. This is a huge stretch and just my paranoia, but SfS is a major bandwagoner when if comes to votes and I'm honestly shocked they haven't voted Connie yet. Also, I've seen them ask/say things about roles they have in thread, which reminds me of what they did with Kaladin earlier. So yeah, I'm sus of Kaladin!SfS, added by elim!Connie even if I don't view the second as likely. I've been doing my best to not bandwagon even when it's against my instinct. I also dislike a Connie, Gears or Illwei lynch, they all seem bad to me, also, if I was Kaladin, wouldn't I know I start with stormlight?

Well, you might ask specifically to make it seem less likely that you're elim (since all the elims would know that). That aside, it is a somewhat meta strat, so it doesn't seem likely.

Dont know how to think about Danes. Will review their posts. You're also probably the only elim read I'm comfortable with, so, same boat!

I did soft claim, nobody commented on it as it wasn't that obvious. I explained my thought process from an outside viewpoint, and almost killed an Elim. I claimed Elim because in my mind an Elim wouldn't do that, so I thought it was between a really dumb Truthless or a joking villager.
He who goes DORIYAH!! he/him Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Maybe I'm being repetitive (sparsely...is sparsely repetitive a thing?) but new player here. Is it expected to read every single post? I have school and stuff, and I can't get on too often or for too long. So is it ok to just read the most recent stuff or what?

Devotary always seems off to me, so I'm trying not to think too much right now. They were the first person to point out the mortality of the Shaman, but that's not neccesarily AI. mostly what they've done is talk about the honorblades and role theories mostly. not much to go on. They've been giving me vibes of how they were in LG68, but it's only C1, so not much to go on. 27 minutes ago, Quinn0928 said: Well, you might ask specifically to make it seem less likely that you're elim (since all the elims would know that). Uh, turns out this LG may not have been the best starting game then :P. Just try to read what you can, more current stuff if better, because people (like gears) probably have some recaps, though tainted they may be. Edited December 6, 2020 by Ooklil' the Wei

People will go back through your previous games to see how it compares to the current game, if that's what you dislike. You're certainly not a definite evil; soft-claiming a neutral role isn't the same thing as hard-claiming an evil one and having a similar strategy as in a game where you were a villager could mean you're also a villager in this game. Personally, I think a villager shouldn't care about making themselves not seem suspicious, but villagers getting themselves read as villagers is important and it might happen to me more often if I had a different belief.

LGs are good for when you don’t have a lot of time, since you can get by with a couple of posts every 72 hours. My advice would be to focus on posts where people are voting, and posts where they list their reads. I’d also encourage you to vote as much as possible (and that you feel comfortable with). He who goes DORIYAH!! he/him Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Oh, alright then I guess I should get started on that, but also, how often should I vote? It seems like there is psychology behing "poke voting" which I don't understand, so should I just vot e seems like good logical evidence?

Lotus thinking I'm off and Fura thinking I'm not makes me think there has to be there somewhere. not because I know lotus all to well, but because Fura used "how I normally speak" as reasoning, and I believe I've had quite a few speaking conversations with Lotus. maybe it's just me overthinking or something. I'm not sure about switching to lotus, mostly because there's been so much stuff around Connie, but I might. I'd, again, like to see more from Lotus, hopefully, in the next few hours.
Araris Valerian he/him Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 My rule for myself is to vote every cycle. It helps me stay more involved in the game. But you will need to find what works best for you. I do think voting becomes more important as the game progresses, and also that the more cycles you go without participating in the lynch, the harder it can be to get caught up on things. I personally am not a fan of poke votes, and instead try to find posts that look like they came from an elim mindset. Logic isn’t required (my first vote this cycle wasn’t super detailed), although more explanation behind your vote will usually generate more discussion. 1

dannnex male Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 I know I’m under suspicion right now, and so it actually might not be a good idea to comment on the current situation, but I don’t think Connie is Elim. She seemed to explain away most of the reasons against her pretty well, at least enough for me. Seems like a lot of people are only voting because it’ll give us information but I don’t really see how. 1
He who goes DORIYAH!! he/him Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 (edited) Alright, first post that can actually contribute. At this point I don't even know why I'm voting for her, except that I don't really suspect anyone else (probably because I've only played two full games before, so I have no idea how to read most of the people in this game). So... I guess Connie. I don't think I'll change that either.
Alvron Posted December 6, 2020 Posted December 6, 2020 Yikes. I think I'm going to skim most of the posts given how many pages there are. While I'm being lazy, if someone does want to ask me a question, please tag, quote or vote for me as I'm far more likely to see it. It's amazing how seeing your name in red draws the eye to a post. 12 hours ago, TJ Shade said: Sure, I read the one post she made at the time as village. She caught a contradiction to the rules that no one noticed. Paying attention to such stuff is more likely a villager than an elim. That reminds me, I've heard about a certain dossier or psychological profiles you had created about players. How many Honorblades would you require to consider bartering with them? 4 hours ago, Furamirionind said: Idk, this might be true for newer players, but it absolutely isn't for players like Devotary. Personally when I'm an elim I put way more effort into understanding the rules. Lol people have tried bargaining for a glimpse… Also... subtle acknowledgement of being the stone shaman? : P Basically what Fura said. When I'm evil, I tend to know the rules back to front and inside out (not that I'll ever let on). I tend to know more about the rules as I have more to think about since the elims know their teammates and what resources are available to them. That doesn't mean everyone is the same, just that that is how I do things. Different playstyles and all that. When someone seemingly knows the ins and outs of the rules it can raise warning flags for me. Having said that, the rule Devotary pointed out isn't a hidden mechanic or something you really need to work out or even a contradiction in the rules itself, it's in plain sight for all to see so I don't think it's that big a thing. I also saw it in my brief glance over before the start of the game but didn't say anything in case the elims didn't see it as I'm someone that likes to keep information hidden until it's needed. Given that I have been basically away for almost a year, they are quite a bit behind. I also don't 'sell' the profiles of other people, you can only request your own. As for the price, that depends on what you want. One games worth is low, possibly free, while a full work up on every game you've played is very expensive. Odium Shard expensive for about 15 LGs and the price goes up with every game played.
