Er, I'm not Elk or CadCom, but I can post something.

Okay, after reading the thread I probably would have voted for Straw, but Illwei brings up a good point that there should have been more effort to save him. My second vote would have been for Jester and then Matrim... so basically what happened anyway. I'm trying to put away all my theories on how Matrim fits on a team with basically everyone. It's a struggle, but I don't think it will lead me anywhere.

I'll follow Illwei's vote on Ashbringer. They didn't vote to save Jester or Straw and they had a weird vote on cycle one as well.

I may be a little bit biased here, but Elk decided to vote for me... after I say that I didn't read the thread? When I had looked there was one vote apiece on Straw, Matrim, and Jester, and I couldn't glean where the suspicion was coming from on any of them. So I let it be then and didn't have time to check it after.

On Mat and Illwei, last minute vote switching is rather bad, but honestly if I had seen Straw was about to be lynched I may have done the same thing (or at least tied it), just earlier. I don't think that incriminates Straw for being vote-saved (or at least it incriminates Matrim more). And Illwei... still has a vote on me after saying he'd move it off, but I can see that "poke" not being satisfied by my I-wasn't-here-and-now-I'm-gone post.

Speaking of which, Illwei, how'd you like to see which one of us wins the vote tie this time? :P

Kidding, Illwei. In interest of not dying... Elkanah. @Elkanah, can you explain your vote on me (more)? You seemed to just overlook my inactivity post entirely, then went inactive yourself.

Yeah, I didn't want to say it was a poke because I feel like that isn't very motivational. but you posted something, so, eh.

Sorry about not being active this turn, I've been a bit busy. Matrim and Illwei are both very villagery in my eyes. Not sure what the votes on Matrim are about.

Wow! I was mentioned 47 times on one page! Careful guys, you might make me start feeling important and then my head will swell to gargantuan size and pop! ^_^

I get that Elkanah has been busy. Believe me, I do. I've efinitely had games where I struggle with activity too. But If I remember Elkanah's style, they were always one to try to help solve the game in pretty much any post. To me it seems most of Elkanah's posts this game are simply apologizing for their inactivity. IIRC correctly back to like 8 months ago(and there is room for error there) but even in Elkanah's most simple posts, there was some sort of direction to help out the village. Even Elk's most recent post only says what they would have done, and not much about their current thoughts

And when there's little participation prior to that, it's really easy to pretend what you would have done. For that reason, I think I'm going to vote Elkanah for now.

Ninja'd by both Matrim and Gears. I'll try to see if there's anything there I feel I should respond to

That's fair. I promise to be the most helpful ever starting Friday morning. Basically I'm asking for a stay of execution for one cycle. Then if I haven't changed your mind, I don't blame you for lynching me.

11 hours ago, Matrim's Dice said:

You guys are gonna be annoyed with me again, but I promise I'm not making this up:

I was sorta thinking the exact same thing. When I read Elk's post, and Illwei's initial vote, I was like 'Ohhh yeah that makes sense' and coupled with his defense of Straw I was planning on switching to Elk. But then Illwei switched off and I was like 'Wellll maybe not'.

But now that I'm a bit more backed up on this, uh, Elkanah.

I also think that Illwei switched off of Elk a bit too quickly for my liking.

bwahahahaha . I'm sorry Matrim. I shouldn't laugh, but Illwei switched off of me fast? I guess to be at least slightly more objective, that is the basis of my suspicion for you. So if I'm suspicious of you for switching quickly, that's a more than fair reason to distrust myself or Illwei.

10 hours ago, Illwei said:

Anyways, yeah. that's why i voted on Elk basically too. He seems more like he was when i was an Elim (kinda) with him, but I'm currently giving him the benefit of the doubt. Not that enthused that he voted on ash as well though...especially since-

Is bone Ash? If so then my vote on ash was a mix of a gut read and a poke, which is why it made zero sense to me for Elk to follow it, especially seeing as he said Matrim was his top third suspicion? Yeah. I would ask elk to eloborate but he seems to be busy at work.

Also the difference to me is Elk said he would be busy beforehand, and Ash said he was busy after. Basically it.

I am here to elaborate :D

I went back and read both cycles to try and be more useful in my analysis. Ashbringer's vote on Silberfarben felt off to me and then their lack of a vote as pointed out by Illwei felt like a pattern of weird noncommitalism (new word. Just made it up.) Like he knows the lynch will hit a villager, so he can't go after it too hard. Except of course it was Matrim who pointed that out day one and he's a higher suspicon than Ashbringer is for me.

My inner child was going to say "Oh yeah? In the interest of not dying, I'll vote for you" and put your name in red even though that would do nothing. However, I can be an adult and only tell you about my childish thoughts instead of enacting them.

No that's a fair point. If you were doing other things then you were busy and I should respect that. I still think you're slightly suspicious but maybe not enough to kill you right now... of course that means I have to vote for Matrim to survive... which would be what I just made fun of myself for making fun of you for doing. In the interest of not making this post any more hypocritical than it already is: Ashbringer I'll wait and go back and look back through Matrim's posts. Actually, that won't get me anywhere except voting for Matrim.

Sorry, I set this aside for a minute and came back. There really isn't a reason to wait to vote for Matrim It makes practical sense and he's my best guess at an elim anyway.

So here's an analysis of the votes (and retractions) this cycle so far, in order.

Straw: Matrim's dice
elkanah: Illwei
Elkanah: Illwei
Ashbringer: Illwei, Elkanah
Matrim: Gears
Straw: Matrim's Dice
Elkanah: Cadcom, Matrim's dice
Matrim: Gears
Illwei: Gears
Matrim: Windrunner Supreme
Elkanah: Ashbringer
Ashbringer: Illwei
Ashbringer: Elkanah

Matrim: Elkanah

TOTALLY UNOFFICIAL VOTE COUNT
Elkanah (3): CadCom, Matrim's Dice, Ashbringer
Illwei (1): Gears
Matrim (2): Windrunner Supreme, Elkanah.

So I find it interesting, Elkanah is kindof just following suit on all of their votes. They followed Illwei to vote on Ash, and later to remove their vote from Ash, right after Illwei again.

Then Elkanahs second vote on Matrim behind Windrunner. Well, I guess it's not the Second vote, just the second current counting vote. The first vote was actually by Gears, and was later removed. So that means that there had already been some discussion about Matrim, kindof weakening my thought process. Also rereading, it appears that vote was at least partially a vote to help save themself

Ok. I think I was considering the stay for a moment, but I just feel like your posts that you have had time to make aren't super analysis-ey, when they could have been more. I guess one more cycle wouldn't hurt too much, so I'll continue considering it, but for now, for the votey trend I noted above, I'll keep my vote on you.

First of the Person has been obliging enough to inform the general populace of the vote count. I thank you, Person. Given the information provided, I think I shall retract Winthrop (Illwei) and instead reiterate my suspicions of Philico (Matrim). I think Elkanah should be granted their stay of execution, since we can always kill them later, and I don't think a Winthrop lynch will be successful, as no one has joined me. Philico has remained my top suspicion. I only hope my tunnelling tendencies haven't led me astray yet again. @Matrim's Dice, I offer you a chance to make your case one last time.

I can explain it. It's because im lurking. :)

I have the game up on my phone and I'm trying to stay apprised of the goings on. Monday was nonstop from 7 am to almost midnight. Tuesday I finished about 6

By today they have the program better figured out, so I'm not needed all the time. I'm on mobile and could be called upon to fix something at any time, so I can't do much analysis. However, I can respond to questions and keep an eye on the thread.

Tomorrow, the summit wraps up and I travel home, so depending on the availability of service, I'll lurk more in the morning than the evening... I mean be active. Not lurk :P

I honestly don't even know what the charges against me are.

This game... I've been weird in. I'll be the first to admit that. I don't know where the change energy and random gut switches came from, but they just... did. But if I were elim, I would not put myself at risk by changing and switching everything like that so quickly. That is not something I would risk, especially not early game. It seems that I've just been misunderstood supremely this game.

You, of all players, Gears, should understand this.

As for who the elim team is...? I can't say. I don't know. I feel super in the dark, so props to them for flying under my radar and apparently everyone else's. I haven't had any actual good reads this game, which is a first for me. I have a gut elim on Elk and instinctively Gears for this switch, but he's probably not an elim. I can't decide on Straw. I'd watch out for the inactives. And the new players. Like I said before, it's highly possible that the elims are all inactive and just letting us kill each other off while they munch on their popcorn and watch the show.

Ok. So I'm new to this and a little intimidated but here we go.

As gears said, I find Matrim's switch to be odd. Though what he said at the start of this turn defends him, it still seems worthy of looking into. I also think that the retracted vote for straw and onto Elkanah is interesting, even though I am a little suspicious of Elkanah at the moment.

Illwei has also been going after a lot of people, but I've never played a game with him (Or anyone here, for that matter), so it might just be his play style.

I don't have time to read through the whole of the thread right now so this is going to be it for now.

I'm going to put my vote on Matrim, for the erradic-ness and the odd switch of vote.

@The Windrunner Supreme Those are decent points but, what would Matrim have to gain from switching his vote to Jester? We know that Jester was village, so it seems like elim!Matrim would have only switched if I was an elim, correct?
