Fifth Scholar he/him Posted January 6, 2020 Author Posted January 6, 2020 In the aftermath of the attack on Nolan and Radler’s disappearance, Brightness Kareana had begun to set far stricter rules for the scribes’ movements and activities within Urithiru. So long as there remained any men sympathetic to Odium within the Radiants, no scribe was to venture into the city alone, or during the nighttime, and especially both. Not that they had time to do any of that, Linna reflected, as the Radiants themselves were doing enough scouting to keep the scribes busy simply recording everything they saw. Some of the details were fascinating—Errdal’s account of the Unmade’s chamber which she had overheard, for instance, with the cryptic images on the walls, and others were simply odd, with some scouts apparently seeing nothing beyond strata within the rocks in the city’s walls on their section of the level, which they nevertheless found the need to describe in excruciating detail. Today’s pair of scouts were thankfully more brief; after a short description of some rather standard storage rooms on the fifty-second floor, they took their leave, and Linna was left sitting, listening to the scratching of reeds and the low voices of reporting Knights. She yawned, though it was midday, and glanced over at Kareana, whose supervision of the operation looked anything but detached. That woman was determined to bring a good report back to Dalinar, and somehow seemed to constantly operate at full capacity on little sleep to ensure it would happen. Linna admired the dedication she showed, but it was annoying at times like now when she would prefer to take a walk around to keep herself awake. She wouldn’t be seeing any Radiants for another hour, anyway, but escaping the eagle eye of Kareana to take advantage of that would be an impossibility—and she would be foolish to try, or she’d find herself on the receiving end of an order sending her back down the Oathgate. Plans of a lone walk foiled, she cast around, searching the other scribes. Most were still conversing with the Radiants or doing the logistical work of the operation, but Brana was done already; unsurprising, given that she was one of Vamah’s best scribes before she became Radiant, and could easily record her own findings. For the moment, though, she was free. Perfect. Rising, Linna felt Kareana’s gaze sink into her before she even turned her head to look at the woman. This is not going to be a fun conversation. Steeling her nerves against a possible outburst of temper, she walked up. “Yes, Linna?” Kareana’s voice was perfectly neutral. “As you can see, Brightness, my work for this shift is done, with my Radiants having left…” “Why should I care? Go translate an ancient text or whatever it is you scribes do when you’re bored. I’m not here to micromanage your day for you, woman. As long as you’re staying out of trouble, you’re fine.” Linna winced, hopefully only inwardly. She’d gotten only a lick of Kareana’s acid tongue, but it still wasn’t pleasant. “Well, you did give orders that nobody should wander about the city without accompaniment, and I was going to take a walk around this floor to get some air.” “My orders stand. Find someone to go with, then, and then perhaps you can leave me be.” Linna looked hopefully at Brana, who had taken her head out of her book to glance up at the noise. The Radiant scholar smiled and rose fluently. “I’ll go with her, Brightness. I need to stretch my legs myself, and I’ll make sure she doesn’t wander anywhere she isn’t supposed to.” The ghost of a smile flitted across Kareana’s lips. “I suppose you will, at that. Go ahead, and don’t make me send search parties after you. Stay on this level.” “We will, Brightness,” Linna replied, and turned to make her exit. Kareana sighed as the pair left the Breakaway. Why couldn’t the fool girl have asked Brana to go with her, and then nodded to her on their way out the door? People took everything she said so literally these days. Then again, if it helped keep people cautious and away from the Unmade, perhaps it wasn’t a bad thing at all that her ban on aimless exploration had taken effect to such a strong degree. But if people were needing approval to take a short walk, that was a separate issue entirely, and one that did not rest on her shoulders. Her annoyance with Linna stayed smouldering inside her as she watched the other scribes stratching away, though, the mundanity of her supervision job allowing it to stay fresh in her mind. She resolved to give the girl a proper tongue-lashing in private when she got back, and then frowned, looking at the fabrial on her arm. It had been an hour or so, and still no sign of either Brana or Linna. It didn’t take that long to circle the floor, even at the slow pace some seemed to prefer. As if to confirm her words, the door to the chamber was thrown open, and a breathless Brana came rushing in. She collapsed at Kareana’s feet, gasping in air. Why do things always end like this? Nobody ever returns from these innocent trips with everything intact. “What happened? Breathe deeply and slow, you’ll be fine, there’s nothing pursuing you anymore.” Kareana kept speaking gently, shooing away the bemused and curious clump of people which had gathered. Many of them were still peering over at Brana, which Kareana supposed was inevitable, but the poor girl was in shock and didn’t need their attention. To her credit, Brana had pulled herself together, her breathing shuddering but evening out as she controlled it. “Where’s Linna?” “The shadows attacked again...she’s dead. A whole crowd of them, and I barely made it myself. As soon as she got dragged away from me, one of the figures threw something at her…a short sword maybe...it went straight through her chest…” Brana broke down sobbing again. “The corridor darkened as soon as it happened, the strata changed colour to red. I just ran here as fast as my legs could carry me, not even seeing if those...things...were following me. But I couldn’t save her or myself.” Kareana whispered reassurement, consoling Brana while her mind raced. The Unmade’s arm had grown long if it was striking at the level they were on with its creations, but most concerning was that she had been right to forbid travel outside the Breakaway. Inwardly, she seethed. Too many people were dying on her watch. She would see Odium’s presence removed from the tower, and any shadows which got in the way were going to regret the day they crossed paths with the Knights Radiant themselves. Brana finished making her report to Brightness Kareana, shaking slightly. This was the second time in a week that she’d stumbled over a dead body, and she did not want any more. She barely made it a dozen steps before Jesh and Jonan confronted her, with a... spren? bobbing along behind. “This is the second time you’ve seen one of those dead bodies before anyone else,” Jesh said. “You know, the ones that keep being killed by shadow spren? Like the ones Errdal fought,” Jonan added. “And Errdal said he saw two very weak-looking axehounds escape from their nest-” “But we can’t find them anywhere. I want my Gren back-” “And my Trisk-” Jesh interjected. “So tell us where they are,” Jonan finished. Brana blinked. “I- I don’t-” she stammered. “Lead us to them, or we’ll expose you as a Sympathizer to everyone.” “I’m not a Sympathizer! I’ve just... had a bad couple of days, is all,” Brana said, thinking about Linna’s staring eyes. “I’m sorry, I don’t know where your axehounds are, I wish I did.” The two men looked at each other for a moment, then back at Brana. “Last chance.” “No,” Brana said, feeling increasingly desperate. “I’m not a Sympathizer, I promise I’m not![/i]” “Three... two... one...” “Please,” she said, half-whispering. “Brana is a Sympathizer!” “She serves Odium, she just admitted it!” After that, well... her death was not pleasant, but it was swift. Saffron Iguana Posted January 6, 2020 Posted January 6, 2020 (edited) 6 votes with 17 players is... not much. I get that we're in a bit of an information drought, but remaining quiet won't do anything to fix that. Also, I'd really like to see Lion lynched or dusted right now, just for future reference in case I'm not around to push this wagon myself next cycle. Quite a few people based their case against Gecko on their suspicion of Lion, and I can't help but wonder whether there might be another motive behind people discouraging that suspicion. *** "So, this next place was really odd." Merinira explained to one of her compatriots in one of the common dining halls. "Get this, there was this really large room, up on the third tier, near the outside wall. And it was filled with these long trenches containing soil. You know, the stuff that covers the ground in Shinovar." She suspected thate xplanationw asn't necessary for her conversation partner to get what she was describing as there was a noticeable brightening in colors around, them, suggesting that they definitely where not a Roshar native. Still, no reason to not keep the act up. "Anyway, this soil must have lain there undisturbed for millennia, which makes it a really valuable resource for learning more about Urithiru. And get this, in parts of this soil where axe-hound pawprints! They where really nice and clear, but these too must have been there from back in the day, as I'm certain no one has visited that chamber before me." Edited January 6, 2020 by Saffron Iguana

I may have missed something while I was sick, but I really don't understand the Lion lynch. The two or so people who listed a reason the cycle Lion was lynched stated it was because of their suspicion on you. Lion wasn't the first to bring it up, yet the only one getting attacked for it. Aside from that, the very first thing Rhino did the next day cycle was to push for a Lion lynch before he was outed. Do you really think Rhino would go for a bus that early when we suspect there are only a couple elims left? Please explain your suspicions on Lion, and why you believe they are still the best lynch candidate.

He gets attacked for it because of the way he brought it up. Some people stated their suspicion and then turned it into a vote. Others decided to go elsewhere. He specifically stated his suspicion for me, but then held off on voting, waiting to see what happened. That reads, to me at least, as if he was waiting to see whether the vote would actually take off before committing, which reads ellimy to em at least Quote Aside from that, the very first thing Rhino did the next day cycle was to push for a Lion lynch before he was outed. Do you really think Rhino would go for a bus that early when we suspect there are only a couple elims left? I think he would. Lion had been quite overwhelmingly lynched the previous cycle, and no big new info had been created to suggest that same lynch might not happen again, so getting in early would have earned him some village credit, especially if he considered the lynch to be very likely. Rhino also already got some suspicion the cycle before that (notably from albatross and vulture), so he could have decided that either the credit from the bus, or the distancing would have been worth it. The reason I think Lion is an important lynch right now though is because there's a group of players declaring rhino cleared for, imho not strong enough reasons, and who consider any further suspicion or Lion actively suspicious (see some of the reasoning for the gecko lynch). There's also a number of players (me and gecko at the least, I'd have to check who else) that consider him to still be a valid lynch candidate. Resolving lion's alignment one way or another will get us information. If he's an elim, then there are a number of obvious suspects among those that have been defending him and declaring him cleared, while if he flips village the C2 lynch is more resolved, and the possibility of elims voting Lion there to ensure Rhino didn't get int trouble can be properly considered. Emerald Falcon Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 Sein watched from behind as the mob carried out their grisly work, screaming in fury. Blood flew everywhere. A droplet of it hit his shell, and he winced. Finally, the mob left. "Be right back," he told Jesh and Jonan. He whizzed past them and back towards the poor woman's body. Sein furtively checked his radar. The area was clear. Then, he started scanning the woman's remains. As always, Sein wasn't sure what he was looking for. Streams of information detailing age, gender, cause of death, carbon-14 date and more popped up in his system. None of it mattered. None of it was what made a Guardian, what led a Ghost to resurrect someone. The other Ghosts had said that the choice had just felt right, that the person had felt special, but how was Sein supposed to know? The woman's body held the same unknown paracausal force that the spren and the sphere had held, but it was quickly slipping away. Sein's back half whirled as he thought. That was special, sure, but not special. The Warlock type of special, doing research in cramped, stuffy labs about intangible abstracts. Not Sein's type of special for sure. Sein's Guardian would deal with reality, ready to take on whatever challenges the universe could throw at them. They definitely wouldn't be a bookish Warlock, or a puny Hunter. Sein imagined a Titan, standing tall and strong in their large pauldrons, hefting a shotgun over their shoulder. Someone who would joyfully shoulder-charge into the enemy's den and leave as the only thing still alive. With a start, Sein realized that he had expanded his shell in preparation to raise someone. He hastily tucked it back in. He would raise someone when he found his Titan, and not a moment before. @Amethyst Scorpion @Magenta Albatross
Magenta Albatross Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 Jonan watched as Sein flew over to the body of Brana and studied her. For a moment, he could’ve sworn Sein...grew. Jonan shook his head. I’m just imagining things, he thought, because I’m tired and tensions are high. He walked over to Sein, looking at Brana’s corpse over him. “What are you looking at her for?” Jonan asked Sein. @Emerald Falcon @Amethyst Scorpion

Elbereth she/her Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 Day 5: A Blaze of Fire The night was still and quiet. In the main chamber, Radiants and scribes slept everywhere, with barely room to walk between bedrolls at times. The only sounds were snoring and the occasional shift of movement from a restless sleeper. Jashi had fallen asleep notes still in hand, trying to recalculate the storm schedule. It might have been a habit for her - her ink was stoppered up, so that she couldn’t knock it over in her sleep. Beside her, Germaine snored lightly. Jashi had taken a bit of a liking to the old man that most of the Radiants hadn’t. His habit of cryptically quoting scripture in response to questions was a bit difficult to deal with at times. Nearby, Tnaidar was sprawled out, exhausted from days of scouting. He was determined to get this over as soon as possible - and if long days mapping meant less time spent around Sympathisers, all the better. A few people were still awake, of course. Kareana had set guards in case anyone tried anything at night. Jonan was tossing and turning not far from Tnaidar, trying his best to sleep and not imagine Gren alone and hungry... And Max Mercury was awake, of course. He crouched a little ways away from Jashi, and quietly struck sparks from his flint, which floated down to land on a string that stretched away from him into the space between Germaine and Tnaidar, where it ended in a small package Max had bought on another world. He knew he needed to leave soon, before anyone noticed, but he hesitated for a moment, watching the flames burn along the string. He hated not to see the product of his work up close. Sighing, he rose to his feet and began backing away as quietly as he could, keeping one eye on the string. He was only a few feet away when bang! The package exploded into a storm of fire, hot enough that Max could feel the heat on his face from here, and the blankets and bedrolls were the perfect fodder for it to grow. Max grinned. Perfect. Jonan wasted no time as the flames began to soar high, hearing the screams of several Radiants caught within their grasp slowly fading as they choked or burned. He rolled away from the consuming blaze, putting out several of the smaller fires that had caught in his cloak, and drew his sword. A conventional blade, but a good one, made of tempered steel which had stood the test of twenty years at his side. Plucking an unlit torch from the wall beside him and lighting it on the steadily advancing tongues of flame, he whirled to face the man who he had seen start the fire: Max Mercury, who appeared to be trying to escape from both the flames and detection. Already he was a silhouetted figure, and in the turmoil of the burning level he seemed to be making a dash for the door. Jonan sprinted to catch up, but Max was easily outstripping him. Where did that man get his speed to outstrip Jonan? It seemed preposterous. A blurred figure suddenly sprang out of the shadows of the room and turned to face Max as he made his way towards the door. The baying of an axehound came to his ears, and the creature sprang, knocking Mercury down in what it thought was a game, and enthusiastically tugging on his cloak. Mercury swore, unable to escape without being detected, and tried to pry his cloak free. The creature hung on gamely, its eyes bulging as it tugged on the cloak. Jonan felt a surge of hope. It was Gren! He redoubled his pace, breathing raggedly. He had to reach Mercury, kill him, and rescue Gren. But twenty paces was still a wide gap, and with horror he saw Mercury draw his sword and tense, preparing to kill Gren. In a stroke of the Almighty’s own luck, his pet saw the blade come out, and abruptly retreated, whimpering as it scampered out the door and into the staircase between levels. Mercury turned to follow, but now Jonan was there. Tears running down his face from the fire and from having Gren slip his grasp another time, he dove at Mercury, tackling him to the ground. They rolled in a heap away from the doorway, towards the spreading blaze, and Jonan felt the heat getting more intense. He couldn’t pin Mercury to him forever, or both of them would die; besides, the man had drawn a dagger from within his belt and would kill him easily with it, even if he was grappled. Letting go, he changed the direction of his roll, managing to avoid being plunged into the flames themselves, instead rising with a cough from behind a nearby outcropping of rock which had been allowed to remain in its natural form. He could see the twisted red veins running through it, and shuddered. Evil was everywhere these days, it seemed. He took a quick self-diagnostic as he peered into the bright and raging inferno, looking for signs of Mercury. His skin felt singed at the very least, and the air, already thin, was filled with smoke, but he would live yet. Mercury appeared, and looked to be in worse condition; his cloak was nearly gone, and not just because of Gren, and his face was burnt with a large mark on its side. But he was not dead, and the sheer resolve in his posture made Jonan subconsciously retreat, stepping backwards slowly as he approached with a thin sword in one hand and a dagger in the other. Then he remembered who he was facing, and gritted his teeth. He held his sword in front of him, the shadows from the torch he held illuminating Mercury’s snarl of hatred and casting shadows on his face, from which his eyes, reddened and piercing, leapt out. Then Mercury himself leapt, spinning at Jonan with almost superhuman speed and lunging with sword and dagger. It truly had begun, then. Catching the dagger between the metal tines of the torch he bore in his right hand, Jonan twisted, feeling a surge of pleasure as the heat and pressure forced Mercury to drop the dagger, and withdraw his hand sharply before it was badly burnt. Then the man’s sword came crashing down on top of his with overwhelming force, sending a shock through Jonan’s entire frame and bringing him to his knees. He was wielding his own sword with the wrong hand because of the torch, and Mercury took full advantage, quickly darting at the kneeling man with his own blade. One, two, three jabs, and Jonan was on the floor, disarmed with blood flowing from his arm and side. Mercury clearly has no intentions of letting this go any longer than it had to. He panicked. He was dying, and Mercury would still get away with the murders! Throwing the torch with the strength left in his injured arm, he watched in satisfaction as it struck Mercury fully as he tried to approach further, setting the already dried and burnt frame of the man ablaze once more. He shrieked in pain, desperately shedding his burning cloak and coat, but dropping his sword to do so. Jonan saw his last chance here. Grabbing the torch from where it had fallen, though it was now unlit, he set the prongs in Mercury’s chest and shoved. There was one last gibbering shriek as his adversary lost balance, toppling backwards into the inferno, then a new blossom of purple flame sprang up where he had fallen. It would be the only gravestone for the four slain that lay within the blaze’s grasp. Scarlet Octopus (Max Mercury) was a Odium Sympathiser Worldhopper! Violet Axolotl Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 That's... A whole lotta death o_O I guess having a whole bunch of dustbringers at once was bound to happen one day? But wow. Okay so Octopus was evil. I guess that explains their vote on lion over Rhino a bit more then. I feel like there's more implications with all this, and interactions to look into, but I'm tired so later job A handful of dead villagers too which is unfortunate, but hopefully this saves us wasting any lynches? Lion being killed has cleared up that lynch that was wasted, does that learn us anything now? Albatross getting hit makes sense if that was the elim kill imo, I'm not sure why a villager would hit them. Vulture and swan.. I dunno, i'm sure the dustbringers had their reasons? I have no thoughts. I tired. I shall also sleep
Saffron Iguana Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 (edited) During D1, in PM with someone (Tuatara, I think) I mentioned that I wasn't looking forward to the massed dustbringer cycle. And here we are. Okay, so if I'm reading this correctly (based on how dustbringer kills tend to be fire-themed, and elim kills tend to not be fire-themed) it seems like the attempt on Albatross was the elim kill (which makes sense, as I don't think any villager would consider albatross suspicious enough for a kill). As for the other kills, Octopus is obviously village, and I think Opal Lion is more likely to be a village kill as well. Swan could go either way, but is more likely a village kill as well given their low activity. Amber could also go either way. A couple of people trusted them for good reason, but they weren't a big enough pressence most of the time that I can rule out a villager shooting a lower active. Still, if I had to guess I'd say that was an elim kill, especially with the write-up suggesting that max was responsible for part of the conflagration. Actually, the writeup suggests that all the fire kills where done by the elims, but that would mean there's still at least another four alive, with a starting team size of 8, which seems... excessive. Anyway, octopus died and flipped elim, so let's see if they said anything interesting. Luckily, Scarlet Octopus did post quite a few reads and analysis. in this post: He mentioned that he expected there to be a pair of elim team-mates among: (Toucan/Iguana), (Iguana/Falcon), or (Falcon/Albatross) I reckon that that means none of these are actually team-mates, but there could be one elim among them that eh hoped to either clear with a lynch on one of the others, or had hoped to implicate if the elim among them died. He then went on to try to get falcon lynched. I'll do a reread of that entire segment later, but seen in isolation, it makes me feel a bit better about falcon. There's a bunch of stuff about me in this one, which as usual I'll leave for others to figure out. More interesting is their insistence that Weasel shouldn't be considered cleared. Though I agree with the reasoning, I think if octopus and weasel where team-mates, octopus would have been more likely to just let the mistake be made, so this makes me trust weasel a bit more as well. That's it for now. there where a couple of other interesting posts, but only because in hindsight they gave some interesting views on Lion and Rhino. When next I find some time, I'll take another look at the entire rhino lynch, and then place a vote. Edited January 7, 2020 by Saffron Iguana
Magenta Albatross Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 (edited) Okay, that was an insanely good writeup. Thank you @Elbereth and @Fifth Scholar for the amazing write ups so far!!! Anyway, thank you to whoever protected me last night as well. I’m thinking the elim kill was on me, and probably at least one of the kills on the villagers was from an elim. Maybe Scarlet Octopus was an elim!Dustbringer, but I’m not sure. I’m pretty sure that Opal Lion was a village!Dustbringer kill. I mean, I almost killed Lion because of how much discourse was being had about them before I decided to kill Octopus, so it would’ve made sense from a villager standpoint to kill Lion. I’m glad I changed my mind though. I think we really should figure out who killed Vulture and Swan. I’m thinking the kill on Vulture was probably an elim and the kill on Swan was probably a villager. Mostly because I trusted Vulture and felt like more people did than just me. I could totally see someone deciding to kill Swan since they hadn’t posted as much. Personally, I felt like they were a villager from our PM and a couple posts too, which is why I removed them from my potential kill list. Anyway, from here, I’ll need to go back through Ocotpus’s and Rhino’s posts now and see how they were interacting and who neither of them were mentioning. Preliminary thoughts before I reread anything again: Amethyst Scorpion: One of my RP partners, so I'd rather not have them lynched or killed. Even despite that, I think I've been unbiased in my reading of their analysis, and I'm pretty sure their village. Soft Village Emerald Falcon: My other RP partner, so I'd rather not have them lynched or killed either. However, if either of my RP partners are an elim, I'd bet it's Falcon. I'll get into why once I do my reread at some point, but for now I don't think it's worth it to vote for them yet. Soft Elim Indigo Weasel: Unless their claim of having protected me is a very brash way of trying to pocket me, I think they're village. I'd be willing to look into them if none of my other elim reads pan out, however. Soft Village Magenta Albatross: I'm not sure. Probably an elim. Mauve Crocodile: So, before Octopus flipped elim, I was soundly pretty sure that Croc was a villager, based on their reaction to everyone talking about them and the fact that they even claimed to be the Dustbringer who killed Rhino. However, reading back through the second post from Octopus that Iguana linked above, I noticed this bit: Quote They also talk about Crocodile. I think I missed the controversy about them, I'll have to go back any analyse them tomorrow. Crocodile has posted though, and claims to have slain Rhino. I'm fairly certain that clears them. They wouldn't claim that unless they did it, as the real Releaser would have counterclaimed. The only possible way they could get away with lying about this is if Chameleon was the dustbringer who killed Rhino and Crocodile somehow knew that. That is strong evidence that Crocodile is a Villager. I don't see a need for further discussion on the matter. Octopus was heavily leaning into the narrative that Croc was a villager. Their confidence in Croc being cleared...puts little confidence in me that they were actually cleared. Croc is once again my strongest elim read right now. Hard Elim Mint Heron: Honestly, I can't even remember much of what they've posted so far, so I need to watch for them in my reread. Neutral Onyx Flamingo: See Mint Heron. Neutral Saffron Iguana: I'm fairly pretty sure they're village, just from the way they've been posting since D1, though there is still the possibility that they bussed Rhino to gain some village cred. They've been posting a lot of pretty decent analysis so far, but that isn't that hard to do as an elim. Soft Elim Sage Kangaroo: A part of me wants to be annoyed by their RP, but I think that leads down a dangerous path. It would be too easy for us to start determining what RP is okay and what types of posts are allowed. Which is all kinds of NOPE for me. @Sage Kangaroo I do wish you would post at least some analysis along with your RP, though I do understand if doing so would reduce the already limited time you have available to play. I'd rather you have fun than worry about trying to analyze and keep up with the game. Salmon Meerkat: I've got a bit of a village gut read on them, but I don't know how much of that is just because they haven't posted much or they've posted stuff I agree with. I'll need to check that on my reread. Soft Village Sunburst Toucan: I honestly haven't been keeping track of them much since the whole D1 fiasco. My thoughts about them are still basically the same as they always were: it would take a lot of unfortunate luck for the elims to have had to make the choice of either lynching Toucan or Rhino. If Toucan is an elim, might need to look into Iguana as well. Soft Elim Violet Axolotl: They've been doing some pretty good analysis, and seem pretty genuine in our PMs. That's not very hard to do as an elim, but I'm willing to believe it for them (if they who I think they are), and there are people I trust much less than them. Hard Village Edited January 7, 2020 by Magenta Albatross Iguana linked two posts from Octopus. The one I was talking about was the second one.

Today is going to be rather busy for me, but I hope to be able to do some analysis tomorrow.
Indigo Weasel Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 Well, I'm glad that I protected Albatross.

Emerald Falcon Posted January 7, 2020 Posted January 7, 2020 Interesting. Our Dustbringer kills have had a much higher accuracy rate than our lynches. @Magenta Albatross, I'd like to know why, again, that you are suspicious of Iguana, and also why you are suspicious of me. I still think Crocodile is village, no matter how Octopus leaned into that narrative. Claiming a kill on an eliminator and having no counterclaims is a very solid chunk of evidence towards villageryness. I think that would've persuaded Octopus to not cast suspicion on a village Crocodile.

We've had two successful lynches and two successful Dustbringers. By contrast, we've had several kills on villagers, while only one (successful) lynch of a villager. The unsuccessful one also counts in the failed Dustbringer category. Crocodile isn't worth a lynch at this point, though maybe a Skybreaker could confirm. I'll try to get around to looking at Octopus's posts today, as well as putting down some analysis/reads on the rest of the players.

Emerald Falcon Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 (edited) To reiterate my reads list from last cycle, with slight updates: Village: Weasel, Abatross, Crocodile, Iguana NAI: Toucan, Axolotl Elim by default of inactivity: Heron, Flamingo, Kangaroo Elim: Scorpion, Meerkat Rationale for changes: Weasel claimed they protected Albatross. Nobody has counterclaimed yet. Meerkat stated they trusted Octopus, and thus gets a placeholder vote until I can look more closely. For Scorpion, I've actually had a gut suspicion of them for a while (Toucan can confirm) and with only one or at most two Sympathizers left everyone I'm not sure of should be looked at more closely. What do you all think of Scorpion and Meerkat?Am I just tunneling or is there something there? Edited January 8, 2020 by Emerald Falcon Formatting

I haven’t done my reread yet (I had a lot more to do today than I thought, so didn’t really have time to reread the thread after work, and when I did get home I played a board game with my dad and brother, and I’m too tired to reread the thread after my shower), but I think there might be something to look at with Scorpion. I’m not as sure about Meerkat, but it wouldn’t hurt to look at them too.
Emerald Falcon Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 @Amethyst Scorpion, how's that Octopus analysis going?

What do you all think of Scorpion and Meerkat?Am I just tunneling or is there something there? I'm doing a reread of the thread, and honestly? I'd lynch me if I weren't me. I had some unfortunate reads and an overall a lack of contribution toward catching any elims. On to something productive, my analysis post-thread read. I made notes of things that related to elims or players still alive, ignoring most posts by the village dead. Spoiler ELIMS: Octopus, Rhino, Dragonfly, Zebra Emerald Falcon: D1 Stated they didn’t like the Penguin or Zebra lynches, tagged the voters to remove said votes. N1 Rhino mentions Falcon’s defense of Zebra, saying it’s not really AI, but also says elim!Falcon may have thought Zebra was at risk. Rather hedgy post. They've had a lot of good suggestions, but I'm mostly off-put by their lynch on Gecko. They pointed out how Gecko was suspicious of Octopus, but then pushed for their lynch after Octopus flipped elim. Rhino was super hedgy regarding Falcon, and Octopus always put them in the suspicious category. However, Octopus never did so in a way that would guarantee the lynch, and always backed off if it appeared to become a real threat. Weasel: Neutral. Not a ton of content, but I disagree with a lot of their suggestions so far. Not necessarily elim, but likely a difference in style. Albatross: Village obvs. Crocodile: Village lean. Despite their D3 suggestion, they haven't done anything overtly suspicious. Also was never counter-claimed for killing Rhino. Heron: Neutral. Not enough data. Flamingo: Neutral. Not enough data. Iguana: Neutral to Village. I was reminded of my suspicions of a bus, and some of Rhino's posts regarding Iguana seemed hedgy. That was probably more a way to distance from a bad lynch, while still pushing for it. Kangaroo: Neutral. Not enough data. Meerkat: Neutral to elim. Read Octopus as village in a distancy way. They did say they wanted to look into Rhino and Toucan, but never did. Granted, Rhino was revealed before they really got the chance, and life happens. Toucan: Neutral to village. Octopus considered them suspicious, but otherwise not a lot of data. Axolotl: Neutral to elim. Their D2 vote didn't make sense, but otherwise not a lot of data. @Emerald Falcon, slowly, but surely. It wasn't so much an octopus analysis but a thread-read. Unfortunately, that leads me to being most suspicious of you and Meerkat. I think I'd rather have you scanned than killed, though, since you have been contributing a lot. Meerkat
