@BringerofShadows, I just realized something. Heather usually has her hair in front of the left side of her face, right? So... How did that work when she got spiked? It'd be like getting a hair in your mouth with the wind, but instead of in your mouth it's your eye socket and instead of the wind, it's a spike. Plus, you wouldn't really be able to get the hair out again...

They pinned it to the side.

Sophie nodded eagerly.

Jaywalk extended his arm, the wounds on his hand flaring with blinding light. The rubble of his castle rose off the ground, forming an arch in front of them. He made a fist, seizing the interdimensional threads, and the portal opened.

The figure rolled her shoulders, sighing. "Ah, I've always liked this place." The glow faded from her skin, revealing its purple tint. She ran thin lilac-colored fingers through her glossy, dark hair, glancing down at the penguin that approached her. "Have you seen a certain man, short, with brown hair, perhaps carrying a briefcase?" When the penguin said nothing, she covered her eyes with one hand and exhaled slowly. Never mind, I'll figure it out on my own. She turned from the penguin, surveying her surroundings with discernment.

Astral noticed something. The mental signature of a girl she should have recognized much sooner. A smile spread across her lips as she realized that she finally had something to do. She outstretched her arm, then waved her hand over it, a glowing, grey ball appearing above her outstretched hand. It seemed to be leaking mist, mist that dripped off its surface and rolled onto Astral's black form. In the surface of the orb was the image of a girl who was completely blue. Her eyes were larger than what was natural and her hair and dress rippled in an unseen, yet constant wind. Another child of TVG. Surrounded by characters. But most importantly, standing next to Jay.

She growled. "I thought you had died," she said. "Ah, well. Perhaps the little blue girl's death will take something more from you."

Astral breathed out, black, writhing smoke pouring from her lips. The smoke formed into a withergeist, flapping its wings to keep it in the air. "Hello, little one," she said softly. It screeched in greeting. "Yes, I have a special job for you. See that one? The pretty little girl in blue? Yes, her." Astral narrowed her eyes. "Kill her." The creature screamed eagerly and turned to go find her. "And only her!" she added as it flew off.

Sophie smiled, looking around. It appeared that they were safe. At least for now. She fingered the spear in her hands. It was quite beautiful and its silvers, whites, and light blues matched her own color palate. She didn't feel all that comfortable with a weapon in her hands, but she couldn't help but feel a little stronger with it. She twirled it in her fingers, pretending for a moment that she was Thought. As she made to spin, however, her eyes fell upon an unsettlingly familliar sight.

"WITHERGEIST!" she screamed. At first, she stumbled backward, but then she remembered the spear in her hands. The withergeist dove at her and she swung the spear. To her surprise, she actually scored at hit on the thing's wing. It cried out loudly, making Sophie cringe. But her fear made her freeze and as it fell, it bit her on her foot.

Black tendrils began to grow on Sophie's form, spreading up her leg. Blackness crowded her vision. And she fell to the ground, unconscious.

Jacob peered through his glasses intently at the slip of paper, carefully inspecting each stroke written upon it. With a nod of satisfaction, he tossed it to the side, letting it float across the room and settle on the wall where it belonged.

All of a sudden, a red light on the top of his clipboard started flashing. He stared at it for a second, startled by its unexpected appearance, before hastily scribbling out the requisite commands.
In the blink of an eye, he stood by Sophie's side.
----
Aqua flickered nervously as the withergeist rose from the crumpled girl into the air. It wouldn't target her, would it? Surely not.

Sophie jerked, her eyes fluttering rapidly. She whimpered, beads of sweat coalescing on her blue brow. The withergeist.... melted. It returned to Astral.

“I’ve just had an apostrophe!” Butt exclaimed.

“I think you mean an epiphany,” a small rock on the ground piped up.

“Lightning has struck my brain,” Butt said, ignoring the rock.

“Well that must have hurt,” the rock replied.

“I’m going to make a potato gun!” Butt shouted.
