He'd actually started to see the group as friends. As he started dashing towards the bowl to grab as much food as possible and feed it to as many starving people as possible, he felt, for the first time in his life, a hint of genuine regret.

He was booted back to Nin to learn from him some more.

Nin considered Steven for some time, before eventually coming to a realization; Steven was cursed. Exactly what the curse did, he couldn't tell. But it likely had something to do with Steven's constantly evil nature.

[The Bookwyrm he/him]

Nin consulted a nearby pile of ancient scrolls to try to figure out the specific details of Steven's curse.

He found nothing except for a name. Adreus the Spellbound, a notoriously evil mage with a penchant for casting irreversible curses.

And so, as it was constantly within the confines of TLT, the previous quest was abandoned.

And a new quest begun: Nin, Nin's Apprentice, Steven, and That One Elephant Who's Name Everyone Forgot set out to try to find Adreus the Spellbound and reverse the irreversible curse.

The first part of their quest was to escape from the Eizards who were still trying to make them complete the Second Trial.

The Eizard's final trial was simple, yet frustratingly vague: Ascend.

Bookwyrm appeared to briefly inquire if the Nin in the party was in fact the Herald Nale, which the Shin folk knew as Nin.

[NameIess]

Nin replied in the negative, saying that although he had once trained under Nale, he was in fact a Legendary Ninja, not a Herald of the Almighty. Additionally, he apologized for the confusion, but informed Bookwyrm that he was not, in fact, a member of the party. He was merely here to set his apprentice on the correct path, before allowing him to follow it on his own feet.

If Nin's apprentice could figure out how to ascend he would gain the R.C.M.P. and Nin's respect.

But more importantly, he would have grown as a person and started on the path to redemption.

From what redemption, the narrators would never know, except Nameless, cause he knew some how.

And of course any Narrators who were keen-eyed enough to guess at the true identity of Nin's apprentice.

"I now ascend!" Declares Nin's apprentice, also know as Ishar.

[NameIess]

This guess was incorrect. Nin's apprentice promptly fell off the twenty foot ladder that he was standing on.

Only to be revived by the dastardly Steven, who was an expert in CPR techniques.

He then slapped Steven, as he was about to have completed the challenge.

Steven had the nerve to apologize, even going so far as to genuinely look sorry for his actions.

Everybody was quite disgusted.

[Shining Silhouette he/him]

Including Steven…he’d come so far, and then he’d relapsed…the guilt began to well up inside of him, the result of countless vicious looks from party members.

”I’M SORRRY! I’LL DO ANYTHING TO MAKE IT BETTER!” he cried, immediately realizing his mistake.

Nin's Apprentice boomed "THESE WORDS ARE ACCEPTED." And Steven started glowing.
