Well, I suppose even if Joe is using a cover story, it's a pretty convincing one. I'll take back my vote.

Okay, after checking up on the thread, I wasn't attacked last night, and Joe, did you forget the fact that there happen to be Independents out there? I'm one, and I'd be rather annoyed if I was killed just for not being part of a certain faction.

The other thing is that I did some kind of scan last night on Burnt, and I'm pretty sure She(?)'s an independent. This is just guesswork though, and I have no proof for or against this.

What were the results of the scan? That seems like it would qualify as proof :P

Very minor rules change - the Research action "Interview" can now be successfully used on anyone, anywhere. However, it only grants Research Points if your target can use your Current World's Primary Investiture. This mostly only matters to people with Research-related Goals.

The ability should now read:

Interview

  • Type: Active [detect]

  • Target: Player (local)

  • Requirement: Your target did not target you this turn with any non-[assist] actions. Your faction has not yet successfully gained Research Points from using Interview on your target.

  • Effect: If your target can use your Current World's Primary Investiture, your faction gains 2 Research Points for your Current World's Primary Investiture. Regardless of whether or not you gain Research Points, your target will be Informed that you "spoke with them."

My scan wasn't that type of scan, and if I did reveal what I did get from it, Burnt might be targeted. I don't know what kind of people are out there after all.

I'm actually not very suspicious of any of the players on my world. Most of them I think are either Children or Independents and the others I have no solid read on or any solid reasons to accuse them of anything, at least nothing I can think of right now. Maybe being quiet, but I've been quiet, so I'll leave them alone. :P

Right now, my top suspects are probably Dowanx and Stink. Stink, because some people(like Aman) think he's been playing differently than usual and Dowanx because last Day Turn when Stink was tied for the most votes for the lynch, Dow was pushing for Mage to be lynched in our World PM but never said anything about it in the thread(Aman mentioned this) which I thought could be him trying to protect Stink. I also thought it could be him defending Stink because I don't remember him being much of a player to push for someone's lynch like that, especially this early. So the thought came to mind that he probably had some sort of agenda behind it and the first thing I thought of was that he was trying to protect a teammate from the lynch. That's probably my best lead at the moment, so, I suppose I'll put a vote on Dowanx for now, even though he's not currently on my World anymore.

I'd be okay with not lynching if we can't find a good target though(and if we're gonna limit ourselves to 2 worlds for our lynch targets, that's a distinct possibility). My personal goals might take a while, so prolonging things a bit is fine with me.

I don't recall pushing for either of them to be lynched as I made 2 short PMs posts.  After reading all of Day One and I figured I would talk about my conclusions.  At that point it was up between Mage and Stink I figured that Mage's death would probably get us more information then Stink's death.

Care to share any information that we got from said death?

Mraize of the Ghostbloods. Personally, I'm pleased - he's not one of Odium's gang, but I doubt the Ghostbloods are going to be our allies, particularly seeing as Mage was carrying a vial of poison and a silver knife (though it's been speculated that the knife is meant to ward off shades rather than have an aggressive role, but still...)

When someone dies and other people pick up the items, whoever gets the item should announce what it does to the thread, so we can get a better idea of what the player's goals were before they died.

@The Young Bard, @little wilson, what exactly do you learn when you scan a corpse?

Well at the time I assumed roles were revealed upon death.  Shortly after Aman corrected me.

I can't speak for Bard, but I can see name, alignment and homeworld. I would assume Bard is the same. I can also target living people, local only, and learn the same info.

Wow... Can we get someone to protect Wilson, people? She's apparently the most useful player in the game.

Did you target anyone with that last night?

No. I'm not sure I'm going to use it at all on living players unless I need to for one of my win cons. Or if the GOH or CoA give me a reason why I should help them (my living scan sees Splinters and Shards as well, so I know if someone is a Vessel). I was worldhopping and doing other things last night that didn't cost investiture. That's the other thing: the Investiture cost on that action isn't something I want to pay every turn right now. Maybe later in the game, but not right now.

I specifically said that I attacked Paranoid King because I thought he wasn't an Independent, GoH, or CoA. I'm not attacking Independents.

I see name (as in in-game name i.e. Mraize) and alignment, but not homeworld, though I consider myself quite savvy in my Cosmere knowledge, so I can usually tell what planets people are from without being told. I can't target living people, either, but I think they balanced that because by the looks of things Wilson is an independent, and I'm a Child.

If what you say is true, Wilson, do you mind scanning me to get verification I'm village? It's not foolproof, because we could both be GOH, but it would go a long way of confirming that I'm not manipulating the thread with my scan results.

I am able to scan any player, living or dead to see if they're returned. Anyone here returned? According to my ability there are six returned.

So last night I saw luckat shoot someone with a blowgun. Since nobody claimed to have been attacked so I assume that was what got me sick. If anyone wants to help me put some pressure on him with a vote so we can see his reasons I would be grateful.

Alright. Luckat, did you shoot someone with a blowgun last Night? If yes, why? If no, what did you do?

A blowgun sounds like a Ghostblood type of weapon. Pretty sure a GB uses it at one point in WoR.

I could, but--and I hate to sound so mercenary (actually, I don't)--what's in it for me? I mean, let's say I scan you and prove you to be a CoA. Then GOH won't be happy with me because I'm helping you guys. So then I give them a bit of help, and then you guys get upset at me because I'm helping them. Or I decline scanning you, and either you or someone on your team threatens to kill me if I don't help the Children. I don't really see any benefit from this for myself. And this is why I've been saying that I'm not going to go out of my way to help anyone unless there's something in it for me.

@luckat, I'll vote for you if I don't hear a good defense by the end of the cycle, since a blow dart gun with no with no writeup reveal seems a bit too dangerous to be left out there

Iyatil was the ghostblood that used a blowdart on Amaram, I believe. And another member used a blow gun to impress Shallan. It's not the sort of weapon id expect to see in normal people's hands. While ghostbloods aren't evil per se, having them running around doesn't seem good for independents either, so I'm going to vote  Luckat

At least, unless she comes up with a very good explanation.
