Left he/him Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 I was supposed to have a date today. It was gonna be the highlight of the past two weeks. I'm sick. I can't do it. Assuming I survived the drive, there's no way I would be able to hangout normally, and I really don't want to get her sick. STORM IT!!!!....today of all days... 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 (edited) Bruce might have worms. At any rate, it looked serious enough for me to leave the vet's office with meds for him. I'm glad I went as soon as I suspected something was wrong, though. Better to have caught it now. Edit: And now my laptop is on the fritz. This day just keeps getting better and better. Master Elodin Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 I've been sick with a 102 fever for five days now, and I missed a bunch of school and my teachers are both completely unforgiving about missing work. In other news, the one day I was at school everyone- especially my friends- treated me like crem. This week would be the worst week ever if I didn't have the Shard.
Oversleep Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Wait, why did your friends act like that? It's not like it was your choice to be sick. They knew you were sick.About teachers... well... It's better to get used to it, unfortunately. It's unfair, I know.

Oversleep Posted March 21, 2016 Posted March 21, 2016 (edited) Oversleep's University Problems, episode 42:I didn't go last week to the Databases laboratories ("laboratories" are practical classes, we actually sit by computers and do things, as opposed to "exercises" which are theoretical as we do things on paper) because I didn't complete the assignment (which in turn wasn't completed because I hadn't managed to make myself familiar with Access). That would be so-so OK, as I can miss one class without repercussions (theoretically, as the woman in charge of the class is borderline crazy).Normally these laboratories are on two-weeks cycle... but my university is known for time-bending (it isn't surprising for me anymore to have a week composed of two Mondays, followed by Friday, then a proper Thursday and then a day-off) so tomorrow I would have it again. The thing is, I'm not going. Because I still have no idea how to use Access (and believe me, I tried). I hope I can make up for it by going to that class with another group (common practice, but remember the line about borderline crazy?) after Easter. I will try to get a friend to explain it to me during holidays...Back to studying... oh, I planned to write an article about "White Sand" during weekend. Well, storm that too. Unfortunately.I think I may have issues with organizing time and self-motivation. It doesn't help that I managed to get by doing things on the last possible moment my whole life... well, at least whole life before last year. Learning whole semester of mathematical analysis in 6 hours year ago was my last accomplishment on that field. Edited March 21, 2016 by Oversleep 1

Don't worry about the worms Practically every cat that came to my temporary home had them and that's seriously not a big deal for them, so it won't be a big deal for a dog. Just give him the meds and all will be fine. You also should tell you parents (I know, that will be hard) to get some anti-parasite drugs for your other pugs, as usually if one animal has worms, then all of them have them. It's also good practice to give your dog those anti-worms drugs once every 6 months just as a precaution. Also, if you want to be 100% safe, get some anti-worms drugs for yourself, but honestly, I've never heard of a case where human got worms from contacts with cat or dog.

Bruno and Mollie are in Spokane right now, so no worries there. Glad it's not a huge deal, though.
Mistrunner Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 So. Um. Parents pretty much certain I've got depression. I'm pretty much certain I've got depression. However, parents have no idea how depression works and how to deal with people with it. How come so many people know symptoms of depression but so few actually understand what it is? 4

Briar King Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 Depends what kind of worms. Hopefully it's not heart cause that is hell for them. I had to treat my big dog a few yrs ago and it hurt me just as much as him watching him. Stomach I think is a few shots and antib pills.

Voidus Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 I'm so sorry Step one see a professional Step two:. As someone with intermittent depressive episodes I can confidently say that this comic is awesome. Although personally I find that a book and ice cream really help a nest. Sorry you have to go through it Mistrunner, I can only second these suggestions and I really can't stress firmly enough that you need to talk to your gp about working out a mental health plan and seeing someone. Even if you don't necessarily get a lot out of the talking and stuff they can give you exercises that will help. 1

Worms in stomach are treated by a couple of pills 3 days in a row, and again after 2 weeks and voila, they're gone I've luckily never had a case with worms outside of the stomach, but I've heard that it's possible for them to get to other organs... That's rare fortunately
Briar King Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Man I'm so ready for Isis to be destroyed. Not to get to political and go off the thread rails but Jan 20 with Republican can't get here fast enough.

While I recognize that my issue with this is entirely personal, I really wish people would stop calling them that. They have plenty of other acronyms people recognize them by without using the name of one of my gods.

Delightful Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Babysitting: Is there such thing as a kids toy that isn't electric, doesn't sing or say stupid things, doesn't play music, isn't repetitive? G-D save me from "I am a giraffe. 123 you and me. I am a little yellow car" :l

G-D save me from "I am a giraffe. 123 you and me. I am a little yellow car" :l LEGO? HotWheels? Action figures? I guess there are some, but you're just unlucky that the kid under your care got the most annoying kind of toys...
Delightful Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 He has some kind of lego blocks but doesn't like them. And books but wont let me read him anything. I'm also a little underpaid which doesn't help. He's a good kid though.
