I'm with Kobold on this one. What kind of pyjama should I bring?

Also being more serious. Bruce will do fine. Don't forget that he has the infinite mental fortitude of a bat. ;)

You'll also manage the move. Sure, these kind of events are scary the first time around (and probably keep afterwards) but they're nothing impossible, same goes for actually finding an apartment. Put your mind to it and it'll work out.

And not giving you the job at this point still doesn't make sense.

Thanks. :) It's like, I know it doesn't make sense for them not to give me this job, but I don't think I'll be able to shake the suspicion that they won't until I walk in on my first day. -_-

It's Saturday and we are officially into the peak of the madness.

1)  Bruce will be fine.  He might be unhappy, but that'll just make him all the happier to see you when you get back.  Dogs are resilient, and he'll get over it.

2)  Make a list of things you need; this will make it less likely that you will forget something.  (I always forget something.  It's not the end of the world.)

3)  Again, lists!  And you know that you can call or text me if you need help/advice/moral support.

4)  You will get an apartment!  Even if it's a crappy apartment, you won't be signing longer than a 1-year lease.  If the apartment is crappy, you only have to put up with it for a year.  It'll be a young adult rite of passage for you. :P

5)  You HAVE the job.

6)  Then you get to hang with Kobold King for longer!  Seriously, we have Sharders all over the place.  No matter where you break down, we will be able to find SOMEONE to help you.  But barring that, this is what AAA is for.

7)  Your mom is a crazy person.  Louisiana will be awesome.

Also, thanks. :) I've tried not to listen to my mom's craziness, but it's hard. And the weirdest thing about her aversion to Metairie is that it has everything she thinks I'll need in a town. Lots of options where dog-friendly apartments are concerned. Green space for Bruce. A Whole Foods. All of the amenities a big city has to offer. But it's not Spokane (which, by the way, doesn't have a Whole Foods; the nearest one is in Seattle) so it's not a good place to be, according to her. -_-

You see I was going to write a long story about how everything could go wrong with the entire beginning stolen from The Duel by Richard Matheson, ending with the evil Louisiana Librarians kidnapping Twimom and unleashing her true form: Twimamashalar, to rule the galaxy with her insane and contradicting rules forever, then I realized I had to fit Kobold in there somewhere and gave up.

... Im not actually sure how that would help you, Im no good at this...

….If Twimom succeeded in ruling the galaxy, you'd have to class it under "Lovecraftian Horror."

It did make me laugh though, so thanks. ^_^

It is a new experience, that's (mostly) all. The first time I made major life decisions, I was certain I'd be dead within the week. Yet here I am, in a mostly mentally lucid state! Ha ha!

Once you get through this, you'll find it wasn't so perilous after all and that your parents are idiots/willfully manipulative.

Fairly minor, but...do my parents have some sort of "Twi is about to do something, better interrupt" senses? In the past three days they've called before I went to bed (right as I was about to turn out the light), when I was about to start making dinner, and just now, as I was about to start eating a delicious salad. And they're ALWAYS chatty. "I heard this and wanted to remind you of that and try to do this fun thing!"

Maybe next time I just won't pick up.

On Thursday, I thought "I got three days to catch up on everything, I can do this". Friday on most of Saturday I spent helping with cleaning the house after some changes in the house (finally we have a sink upstairs! Yay! I don't have to wash my hands in the bathtube! The end of arching the back uncomfortably!). Today I didn't get much done... and I find myself, at the end of the weekend, with much work left to do for the next day... again.
And I feel just tired. What's worse, I know I probably won't get any sleep tonight... sleepless night again.

Dark Alley, you have any Double Electrum spikes? I have some things for exchange.

I support this! Or, to give yourself an alibi, just turn it off.

I'm currently laying in bed exhausted after a difficult day...cleaning the receipts off my dresser and choosing which shirts to get rid of. Yeah, my chest started to hurt and I couldn't stay upright from that (I've had a full heart work up, this is fatigue from antiviral medications and maybe something else). This is on top of the continuing headache I posted about before, abdominal pain we're investigating, and digestive problems that have been my life for the past 14 years or so.

And pray do tell, what was that Epic weakness?

I'd tell you... buuuuuuut I'd then have to kill you.

I feel you'll make a good lieutenant when I take over rural Texas. So you live on in ignorance, for now.

Does that mean you'll have to kill me?

Or is this the beginning of our glorious future as Stalemate?

Definitely the latter. I couldn't kill you if I wanted to. We'll be like Batman and the Joker, except completely useless. :P

My best friend is going through a break up, and it's really bad. I'm doing everything I can do to help and support her, but it's really hard. There's only so much I can do, and it's getting awkward because her parents really prefer me to the other guy. I don't want to make a move, it would just hurt her more. But it's gonna be So hard to be there for her without accidentally making some kind of screw up that makes it worse.

Things should get better in a few weeks I guess, but it's not going to be fun getting through to there.

Traffic is insane. It's still not a fraction compared to hurricane traffic but NE to SW Louisiana is flooded and shut down so we have insane flows of redirected traffic here in Lake Charles. I do feel bad for all those lost homes.

One of my close friends was in a car accident today. Thank G-D she's basically alright, but it was a close one. I'm ....processing.

That's one of my worst nightmares. I've had dreams where that happens and I always wake up freaking out. I'm sorry you have to go through it for real :(

My school just said that they're having a lockout, and told us not to go on phones or worry. I'm really worried

EDIT: Nevermind, it dropped pretty quickly.

US Government be like: "You made less than $30,000 last year, donated to three different charities, were a grad student, and paid off three of your loan groups ahead of schedule? You owe us money."

Every Goverment ever: "You owe us money".

Nothing surprising here, really. :(

No, sadly. I just wish that they'd hire some humans to work for the IRS. Because judging by how much I had to pay this year versus how much I made, I'm pretty sure that the IRS is staffed entirely by lizard people with a serious grudge against humanity.

There are those who seriously purport that very theory.

It...it could be worse.  You could have to be paying into two different states.

(This is the first year we DIDN'T have to do that.  IT IS SO NICE.)

Maybeso, maybeno; you'll want to check Arizona tax laws.  You're moving early enough in the year they might count you as a non-resident and throw a refund at you.

Are you kidding? This is Arizona we're talking about. They'll probably throw some allergy-inducing pollen on me on my way out of town. <_< #CanYouTellTwiIsBitter
