Thank you. Yeah, I know, as sad as I, and the entire band was, the crazy amount of love and everything and hugs....it was something to see and to be a part of, definitely. Right as the meeting ended, a huge group of people made a very big hug circle around him and we cried together and supported him and....I'm just so sad right now and tired, I don't even know what I'm writing anymore. There was a point to that response, but I forgot it.

But moving on! @StrikerEZ The support you guys showed him is jawdropping! *hugs
Steeldancer he/him Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 $2200 for repairs, of which I am responsible for $500. My parents have cancelled our fall vacation to make up for the loss. We also now have collision insurance. School has started, and I'm still waiting on what the show will be this year, and my decision to do the show this year or not. The stress of school is starting to come back. Ugh. The constant stress is something that slowly wears me down during the school year, until I have nothing left to give. And my parents keep telling me I'm supposed to find joy in school. Sometimes they are completely ignorant.
Mestiv he/him Posted September 10, 2017 Posted September 10, 2017 @Steeldancer why is school so stressful for you?

I can't speak for him, but in my experience it's really stressful because teachers, at least in higher level classes like AP classes, there's lots of homework given and it's hard to keep track of it all, especially if you're in any extracurriculars. I know I get stressed about school all the time. @Darkness Ascendant I know, that really put my faith back in humanity when it happened.

That and the fact that I hate dealing with stupid people.

I hope it gets better for you soon. I'm 24 now, but I remember my last 3 years of school being ridiculously stressful, because I was trying to maintain my grades and do lots of extracurricular activities to look good for universities. So I really sympathise with you, and I wouldn't relive that period of my life even if someone paid me to. I chose a very demanding career path so the stress never really ended for me, but I do think it gets much better for the majority of people once they get to university. So hang in there! Edit: The most important piece of advice I can give you is to still maintain your hobbies. No matter how hectic things get, always make time for the things you love. Gaming/watching anime/reading all keep me sane through the most taxing of times. Have things to look forward to and work towards, like an event in the distant future. That's the Oathbringer release date for me! Edited September 11, 2017 by PlanetReelo

Modal Seoul he/him Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Well, my brother went into our garage this morning, and there was a skunk sitting there. We tried scaring it out with the garage door, but it ran the other direction......FARTHER INTO THE GARAGE!! We hoped it would leave, but it got nervous, and, well,............*sigh*. I hate that smell. Luckily, it didn't get our cat, and we took away the food, so hopefully it'll leave.
Mistrunner Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 Ever have one of those weeks where it feels like it's been forever but it's only Tuesday? Well, that's been this week so far. It's not shaping up to be a good school year. Two of my teachers don't teach, one of whom is my trig teacher. This is very, very bad. The reason I'm awake right now is because I've been trying to figure out this homework she's given without any instruction whatsoever out of a precalc book. The other one who doesn't teach is my history teacher (also the football coach, which explains a lot) who keeps assigning essays without covering the material. My English teacher so far is shaping up to be fairly incompetent and can't spell my name, which isn't a huge surprise but she marked someone's paper down for misspelling hers, so I feel like I'm entitled to be petty here. The homework piles keep stacking up and it's hard to find time to breathe. I haven't been able to practice my instruments nearly as much as I'd like. I want to start doing extra things for college applications but I just don't have the time or the energy. I just need stuff to stop for a while. Long enough for me to catch up. A few months would be nice. Unfortunately, things aren't going to stop happening for a very long time. help 1
Orlion Blight he/him Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 @Mistrunner The key to handling overload is to "Triage". It's a sinister word associated with medics determining which wounded to treat on the battlefield! The idea is that you treat the most serious cases first, leaving the less serious cases for later and leaving the goners alone. Since you just started the year, you don't have any goners, yet! If I would propose a strategy: 1) Do not worry about "doing stuff for college" just yet. You can have it in the back of your mind, but you are just starting the year, getting a feel for it. You have plenty of time to "do the stuff". No need to let it bog you down now. 2) You can get help with Trigonometry in various places. This includes identifying peers that understand it, some personal research, and online help including but not limited to the Shard. This may require deep breaths and other such breathing exercises: learning Trigonometry, for whatever reason, tends to be frustrating. That's why I am not going to post anything about it yet, for I do not wish to confuse you before you have begun (for my part, I think I had about six formulas and a magical circle that helped me throughout my Trig studies. I do not know how relevant those would be in your situation... particularly the magical circle! Sounds neat, and it is, but I digress!) 3) Always practice your instruments. May not be as much as you want, but be sure to do it! 4) Be sure to have 'you' stuff. This includes rest, hydration and doing stuff that is fun for you. And playing with cats helps too! 5
Silverblade5 he/him Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 @MistrunnerTell me what you're currently doing in trig. I will help you, and attempt to give extra coverage for the material. On another note, I may or may not have tripped in a parking lot during xc practice, and may or may not have skinned my knee, and it may or may not hurt like Braize when I bend it
A Budgie she/her Posted September 13, 2017 Posted September 13, 2017 @Mistrunner *hugs* As a student, I know how frustrating teachers can be. Good luck, and try to breathe.
