*hugs*

Go for a walk maybe? Paint a painting? Work on your writing? Try something new?

Do some Delightful things, after all, happiness is something you should find within yourself, not expect it to be given by someone else. This way, even when alone, you won't be down.

You are smart.

Had a decent end to a crappy day so lets hope tomorrow continues the improving trend. Im now happy-snuggly watching TV instead eat-all-the-carbs-depressed watching TV. I guess that makes a nice bookend to my day as a short story. :P

Please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks it is inconsiderate for parents/grandparents to take their children to a movie theater and then do nothing to prevent said children from wiping their snot on the armrests and disturbing the rest of the audience with their sniffling. :( Completely ruined my experience at the theater tonight.

I'm sorry to hear that @Sunchicken :(

It is bad parenting... Those parents should pay attention to their child and teach it good manners and how to behave in public places. Can't blame the kid for having runny nose, but they should provide tissues and make sure he/she doesn't devastate the place.

School: I just found out my Stats teacher has colinary cancer. Normally, this would be pretty bad on its own, but Stats is apparently a difficult class to teach. This means there's a very good chance of the long term sub being low quality.

Work: I just witnessed an interaction with the most narcissistic customer ever. Originally, he merely asked for us to put on the football game. We were unable to find a channel with it, so we just go back to work. Fast forward 15 minutes, and, after trying(and failing) to do it himself using the buttons on the tv, and he is throwing a ridiculous tantrum, saying how the manager failed him and gave up on him. And I'm just standing there thinking "buddy, grow up. Get a life. ".

I can help with Stats. I took the class last year and got a 5 on the AP test for it.

So, the thanksgiving long weekend starts on Saturday for me this week (in Canada we get the Monday off, and thanksgiving is in October), which is good.
Unfortunately, I think I'm getting sick just in time for it. Which sucks. Super tired with a nasty headache and some headcold symptoms :(

And I'm supposed to be working in the lab all day tomorrow (which is cool, but won't be fun if I'm sick as I think I'm falling :( )

I don't like whinging.  But I am having trouble with money.  2 years ago, I lost my high paying job.  Ever since, I just couldn't  land another job.  Now, I've invested into getting into a new business, but not getting customers.

so yeah, 6 months more like this and I'll be in a big financial heap.

Well, an update.  The venture didn’t work out and I am in a financial heap.  Slowly clearing the final paperwork but yeah it’s a bit of a mental hit.  I’ve stopped checking emails and turned off social media.

Narrowed my focus to just staying positive and trying for just a job of any sort.  Fingers crossed.

Sorry to hear that. :( I've been through that with a failed business venture (twice, actually), and it sucks.  Best of luck getting a new job and recovering!

Just watched a video about a republican introducing a bill to make firearm ownership less fun.  I'm, actually, in a depressed and angry mood because of it.  :(

Ugh. My girlfriend has hardly talked to me this week, and it's hard to find out what's going on when I can't seem to get a conversation started. Then, when I address the issue, she turns and says that I'm somehow the issue! This might be our first real argument in 9 months, I don't think out relationship is at risk, but it's really messing me up.

Furthermore, I believe that I have tonsil stones. During chorus I got this awful taste, and a little research and advice has lead me to that conclusion.

Oh and my dad used up all the data this month, forgot to get some important homework done, and so I'm in a foul mood.

I'll probably go watch some Comicstorian on YouTube to make myself feel better.

Sounds like deep breaths and painful listening might be in order :/ Good luck man.

I seriously don't understand why people like to rust on Colombus day so much. I understand why don't like the man himself, but why do I have to see so many "storm colombus" posts? It's NOT ABOUT HIM. It's about celebrating Italian American culture!

The Italian Americans merely took advantage of his Italian descent to  (which is nothing to be proud of) to gain a footing in America. That's my understanding at least.

There is literally nothing Italian American about Columbus Day. It was originally stated to celebrate his landing, which was a fun day indeed. It's just the Italian Americans that see it as a celebration of their heritage. It's just all meh really.

Um...yeah, Jedal, I think DA has this one right. I have literally never heard of anyone claiming that Columbus Day was about celebrating Italian culture before.

Yes, Italian-Americans seized upon the story and pulled it into the limelight, but it was because they were experiencing serious discrimination during that time period. They needed a "hero" countryman to lend them social legitimacy. By pushing him as a quintessentially pre-American hero, they gained that.

Gargh. That tonsil stone? Wouldn't come out. And now my throat hurts. <_< further more I had a pep rally today. I HATE pep rallys. My ears hurt.

Also, girlfriend continues... to not talk to me. I'm seeing her tomorrow, so hopefully we have a productive conversation.

Still, good things are around. Episode 1 of Season 4 flash was amazing.

*head pat* I've never had a tonsil stone, but they sound painful.
Good luck with your girlfriend.

I don't know about you guys, but in New York on Colombus Day, we had a parade, and many Italian American artists were celebrated. There was very little mention of Colombus himself and many people spoke more about what it was like to be Italian-American and their experiences. I myself spent time with my grandmother and enjoyed learning more about my culture. That may just be a regional thing, but I'm kinda tired of hearing people dump on a day that's actually dear to my heart.

I don't have a problem with that, just tear down his statue (there's a statue of him right?) and declare it National Latin-American day or something lol, then people may stop **** on it.

Yeah, if the point of having Columbus day is to celebrate Italian American culture, call it Italian American day and quit requiring that any celebration of your culture needs to be done in the name of a horrible, worthless human being.

So today is the one year anniversary of when I first met my girlfriend. Also, 9 months.

And she just broke up with me.

I probably should have seen it coming. I can't hate her, it was obviously hard for her. She didn't want to do it, but she felt she couldn't do it anymore.

So I decided to not force her to be in a relationship she didn't want to be in.

The killer here is I really, really thought I had something that could last. She was something special that I don't know that I'll be able to find again.

I'm not sure the implications have really hit me yet. I don't often cry, I'll probably cry when I get home.

Gosh darn it. Storms, storms, storms.

*hugs* I'm so sorry.

There are many wonderful people in the world. For now just take time to process and look after yourself.
