What Sanderson character are you most like? (Cosmere and -non)

Recommended Posts

Hard to say... Kaladin has some of my agressive and/or depressive tendencies, but is too much of a leader, while I tend to stay with myself. Renarin is too shy and submissive. I haven't read Elantris or the novellas, so my character pool is somewhat small. Elend is the closest I can think, but he is still not quite there.

Adolin. He is my male counter part in nearly every way, minus the endless courtships.

1) The insecure doubtful person hiding within an over-confident, slightly arrogant exterior? Check.

2) The tendency to care too much and the difficulty to just let go? Check.

3) The emotive response taking over the rational one in front of the unexpected? Check.

4) The anger that comes and goes in the face of one perceives as injustice/prejudice/wrongness? Check.

5) The social butterfly that mends with everyone, talks with everyone, is acquainted with everyone, but safeguards his inner self to avoid being hurt? Check.

6) The incapacity to make relationships works for reason unknown to oneself? Check.

7) The strong desire to never ever show weakness because it would be admitting failure and hence hammer the self-confidence? Check.

8) The over-achiever symptom taping into its strength over and over and over again because it boosts the self-confidence? Check.

9) The need for peer-approval, the need to recognition, to have others say yes, you are good? Check.

10) The hate towards boring uniforms because it destroys self-creativity? Check.

11) The difficulty to follow strict rules, being very vocal about it and yet lacking the rebellious streak to do so? Check.

12) The habit of being dismissed because your appearance/behavior does not speak for your skill? Check.

13) The blunt honesty? Check.

14) Presenting oneself as over-confident and comfortable in romantic relationships and yet become very shy when it gets real? Check.

I could go on and on and on  I have rarely read a character which resembled me so much. He makes me think of me, when I was the same age.

I will always shout out my love for Shallan (with whom I share a lot in common)! And Hoid/Wit! I just couldn't resist the quick-tongue type :D Kaladin is also a candidate.

In Mistborn, it's Spook :)

Oh no I almost forgot Vasher/Zahel… Yeah he is also my favourite!

Navani - very loyal to those I love, prone to fussing over them and very (over) protective of them too. But I don't like anyone trying to cosset me back!

I'm no scientist though so you won't be getting any fantastic fabrials from me anytime soon!

Well, my girlfriend says I'm like Kaladin, and she's totally Shallan.

(WOR)

Which totally works, considering what happens at the end of WoR.  :P

WoR spoiler below:

What does Szeth getting Nightblood have to do with you and your gf being like Kaladin and Shallan?!

On-topic, though--

I am easily most similar to Shallan.

Our childhoods are already very similar:  Hers had a bit more violence, mine had a lot less food and money.  Her mom died, mine didn't (but not for lack of trying.) I wanted to protect those I loved, but was unable to do so; ditto with her.

How we act towards the world is also the same:  I smile and laugh at the world, because to do otherwise would be to cry an endless stream of tears; she does the same.  We both lie about who we are, so that we can become who we want or need to be--and are generally successful at doing so.

We both frequently speak without thinking, in ways that are likely to get us into trouble.  While some might call it 'quick-witted' or 'clever-tongued' it's more appropriately 'firing a bazooka at the low-hanging fruit' (at least from my end.)  The actions and reactions of others over years fueled this behavior.

I am capable of drawing very, very poor splotches of lines and color; Shallan is an amazing artist who doesn't even need to try.  So, that's really the only difference between us (besides age, and sex, and Pattern, I mean.)

looks like I get to be unique: Lightsong. I don't take anything seriously and don't understand what I did to deserve the nice life I have.

EDIT: I also have the same existential crisis of trying to figure out who I am and what I'm good at.

I relate a lot to Sazed, especially in Hero of Ages with the whole "I like research better than action" thing. (Let me know if that's considered a spoiler-tag worthy thing, but I wouldn't think so.) One of my friends tried her hand at a Mistborn MBTI chart, and she gave Sazed my type, ISFJ, so I think we're probably pretty similar. *shrugs*

Pretty sure he's always liked research over doing things :P
