He turned around. I gave the most awkward smile you can imagine. Actually, probably worse. He said, "Don't slip on the crem," and walked away. I haven't tried it again since. :P

The side of me that wants a good story is like “DO IT AGAIN”

The side of me that wants a happy story is saying “just go talk to him”

Do what you want tho, this story has made me happy for the Sanderson expressions used

It’s too late now. I have a new strategy though! I keep a crocheted doomslug in my pocket and pull it out at random times, then scan the room for educated people.

When the specific inflection your math teacher uses reminds you of a random and obscure thing Lirin says.

"We don't know that."

-my teacher

"You don't know that!"

-Lirin*

edit: *it's actually Kaladin

I think it's because that italicization pattern always bugged me because it didn't seem right to me, so it stuck in my brain.

When you're having one of those days where you can't focus on or do anything, and after banging your head on the wall a few times doesn't work, the first thing that comes into your brain is, "I need tin."

When your sister, who doesn't really like reading, gets books for her birthday without even asking, while you beg and get nothing, and it makes you cry.

When people keep making you be friendly and happy for many, many so you keep smiling and thinking about the book you have upstairs and who's about to die and who's not going to die even though you want them to.

When say "ising the wants of eats" instead of "I'm hungry."

(Today's been an interesting day if you can't tell.)

When you made an account on a website just because you saw someone trashing Tress of the Emerald Sea

The website had a quote from it (the one that says something like “they were so good at being unique that they did it together”) and someone commented “another book about splintering female relationships must be written by a man.” I just about wrote an essay…

@Frank of the Emerald Axes and @ECJHtheEdgedancer hi!

Just a friendly reminder that double posting is generally frowned upon in the Shard! (well, the Mods don't like it) If you'd like to have multiple quotes in one box, click the + symbol next the the word "quote" and it'll add it to a collection that pops up the in bottom of your screen. Once you've collected all the ones you want in one post, click the box and it'll deposit them into the typing box.

Have a wonderful day, you two :D

When you read Mistborn as a 4th grader and wondered whether it was worth it to have all your youthful innocence stripped from you at such a young age, especially since you had friends reading the magic treehouse books and thinking kisses were completely inappropriate and murder was out of the question.

Then, by freshman year when the rest of the world catches up to you, you have to reread every cosmere book so that you can socialize with the humans.

I don’t really know what you mean but it was in a larger topic not just on its own

Don’t know if that’s what you meant
