I just finished my pumpkin!

It took forever. But it was worth it. Very much so. :D

Heh you cut all the way through? Brave. Very brave.

Yah.

That's why there's a toothpick.

It nearly broke in several places. But it didn't, and I have a very sloppily carved pumpkin.

When your professor jokingly tells your class something like "invest in toothpicks" and it registers to you as "Invested toothpicks".

When your encouragement to read Brandon's books seemingly pays off. My brother has started reading TFE, one of my best friends has just finished AoL and is now breezing through SoS, and another of my best friends is starting on WoA.

When most of the good jokes you have found came from this site.

When you think up an entire fanfiction series based on a new Shard and a new Shardworld in about a day because your imagination won't shut up. (I was thinking about the likelihood of a Shard of Equality).

When you try painting a soulstamp on a smooth white rock because you can't think of anything else.

When you're on the Shard more than pretty much any other website by now.

When you passionately hunger for 9:00 AM on Tuesdays.

When you think you see Brandon at Walmart but you're disappointed to find out it's just an employee lookalike.

When books by other authors kind of disappoint you because they just don't compare. My love for the Michael Vey series is severely diminished because of that.

And you know the First Counselor of your ward Bishopric is a Sanderfan when he re-enacts the scene in WoR where

Spoiler

Taln saves Amaram's life by grabbing darts out of the air because your sister is pretending to shoot people with a blowgun.

It's true. He specifically referred to the book.

Wrong quote from @Tesh. I don't know how to fix it, so I'm just deleting all of this. Sorry for the double post.

When you go to a family Halloween Party dressed as a Mistborn, and no one knows who you are. My aunt called me the Grim Reaper, and a cousin called me a dementor. But luckily, I have a cousin who does read Sanderson, and he came later in the day, but he knew who I was. It made me so happy that someone understood my costume.

I did that too my ward's trunk-or-treat.

Absolutely no one recognized me.

So then I grabbed the rubber unicorn mask...

Yup. I did literally the exact same thing at my ward's trunk-or-treat. Pretty much the same reaction too, down to someone calling me a dementor. Except, I have a friend who reads Sanderson, and I met this one person who recognized me. I got overly excited. She said she had read everything Sanderson wrote and loved Mistborn. In an attempt to prove my extreme nerdiness (unfortunately in front of my friend) I asked her, "Well have you read Infinity Blade?" She hadn't.

I'll find people who have read some Sanderson, and I'll ask about something from Alcatraz (which are pretty memorable, I think) or some simple-ish Cosmere thingy, and they'll be confused. :( And there was this person I talked to on Saturday (Sanderday?) who said that he really didn't like Alcatraz because of the constant commentary that had nothing to do with the story. I guess I can see where he's coming from, but at the same time, those were some of my favorite parts. Oh well. Everybody's got different opinions, I suppose.

When you tell a friend to stay home instead of going places so they can read more Sanderson.

When you make detailed visual plans for a touchscreen game based on the Rithmatist. (Sadly, I have no coding skills that could make that happen, but I still think it would be amazing.)

Ohmygoodness that sounds amazing! I want it.

When you are frustrated at the blue sparkles on your marching band uniform because you know that if they weren't there you would look more like an Alethi soldier.

When your P.E. teacher makes you run laps around the field and you pick the lane on the track with the number 4 on it.

When your best friend has a look of terror on her face when she realizes that the books her dad has been obsessing over for the past few months are written by Brandon Sanderson.

When you go on an airplane and, against all reason whatsoever, pray silently that Brandon is miraculously flying to Hawaii too and you can sit next to him on an airplane for five hours (Unfortunately, Brandon wasn't there. I got to sit between my younger cousin and my sister as they talked about Roblox and threw candy at each other while I tried desperately to read the last 300 pages of Elantris).

I was on a flight from Salt Lake and Brandon was in the plane! I got a picture with him and gave him my email!

It was Brandon Flowers, not Brandon Sanderson. I (and my family) love the Killers.

Also, on a side note, I also carved these two other pumpkins. (We grew a bunch in our garden this year, so I could carve as many as I wanted.)

I quote Sanderson all the storming time! I love randomly reciting the back of tWoK. It freaks people out.

Errr... no. There was a shocking lack of unicorn masks.

That’s awesome! I love the Shy Guy! I carved an Aon Ashe into my pumpkin because I thought it would be so awesome to have a jack-o-lantern with a glowing Aon Ashe in the center. I’m not at all artistic, but it’s still pretty great (I think). I’ll post a picture when I can.

That is amazing. I don’t ever quote him, but I geek out about his stuff a ton. A ton. The most I’ve ever memorized was Numuhukumaki’aialunamor. And it’s pronounciation. It makes me so happy whenever I go around saying it for no reason. The same could not be said for the people around me. :)
