+Ed Venture Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 @Feruchemical Skybreaker@NorthStar The glyphs are read symmetrically from left to right as a single symbol. The symbol is a word. They symbols aren’t separated into letters. You then would stylize the general shape into the noun.

So, when writing a glyph, those symbols you used are the parts that make up the glyph. So if you looked at this Then you’d see the original “stance” glyph, and then you’d see each of the different lines are a symbol, a letter symbol. Then you mirror what you have drawn over the y-axis, because symmetry. The glyphs themselves are from left to right and stylized. Heavily stylized, sometimes to the point where it can be difficult to distinguish the separate letters. But it’s a kind of art, with every glyph looking different.

Reckless Reader Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 With relation to the glyphs, it's actually really fun to squish and rearrange the lines to make it look like something. I've done this with names of friends, and it's incredible how many different things you can make with a single name 6
GoWibble he/him Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 wow, very nice. I really like the bird (eagle?) one

Ghanderflaffle she/her Posted January 10, 2020 Posted January 10, 2020 YKYASW you walk like a Vorin lighteyed lady. (But only while barefoot, as I am a darkeyed peasant). When you can’t decide which Sanderson book to use for a book report. When you want to write a persuasive paper over why people should read cosmere books. 2
Karger he/him Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 YKYASWY somehow misread the word read as RAFO When you look for some brass when tired When looking at an online class advertisement for object oriented programing you think of Elantris. 1

Kelsier'sGodComplex she/her Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 YKYASFW you respond with, ¨I visited that magical place once" When some talks about going outside. They all look at you weirdly while you try hard not to laugh. 1
SirWolfe Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 YKYASFW: -you try and explain to a friend why you are laughing so hard at an I" am a Stick" meme, and it turns into an hour long, in-depth explanation of the history and worldbuilding of the Cosmere -anytime you read the words "invested", "shard", "connection", and "identity", it triggers your brain to pull up Cosmere-relevant information and histories. 8
