FarDoom, currently wearing the bones of Faliu who died naturally about a week ago (right before this game started), sneaked down into the cellar of Rolan's house.  "Yeeessss!" the bones were still there.  The bones of a reptilian beast that lived many, many years before humans even existed.  Rolan had collected an entire set.

FarDoom got to work and, after abandoning his previous bones, got straight to work forming his new body.  It was only one of the smaller ones, but the entire process took more than a few hours.  Now, FarDoom was the most fearsome creature in the village.  In this form, he was a Velicicirifter, or something.  Velosister?  Vile-sore-after?  Velocerifter?  Probably the last one.  Whatever.  No one would stand up to such a fearsome creature!

Now to assert my dominance, FarDoom thought to himself and smiled a wicked grin.  It only looked menacing because of the form he was in, though.

FarDoom walked out of the room and tried to look intimidating.  He failed.  The first person to notice him barely looked up.  That guy had spikes in his eyes.  Probably noticing FarDoom as a fellow Hemalurgist, he wasn't even phased.  Everyone else saw how harmless the Velicoripper was and didn't pay much attention to him.

stupid spiked people, always ruining my fun, FarDoom thought, I only get to do this once every century.

Day Seven: Ruin and Chaos

After so long spent waiting, the spiked were finally ready to go on the offensive. They'd been careful, only killing those who got too close, and those who would not be missed. That had gotten them nowhere. It was time to strike, and discord would be their weapon.

Tensions were high with Rolan's death. Everyone was excited to be one step closer to ending this mess, but with their leads exhausted, everyone was also a target for suspicion.

A nudge, a careful word, a whispered conversation purposefully overheard: suddenly, the villagers were at each other's throats. It was laughably easy. Of course, some truth had to be sown in among the lies, without it, they wouldn't have been believed. Unfortunate, but necessary.

As the night drew on, chaos broke out in the tunnels. Twinborn fled in every direction, and small skirmishes flared up and died away constantly. Suspicious and afraid, they lashed out, all logical thought gone.

Malrick and Millie waded through the press of villagers, trying to bring order. The failed, miserably. Millie did her best to calm them, flaring zinc constantly. Her powers were better suited to enraging than calming, however. Malrick added what support he could, long years running the Alehouse having given him plenty of plenty of experience dealing with unruly Twinborn.

It wasn't long before Millie went down, a boxing driven through her skull by some rogue coinshot. Malrick was forced to retreat, now alone amidst the chaos, taking blow after blow from the maddened villagers.

The spiked saw their opportunity, and didn't hesitate. Plunging in among the Twinborn, they struck out indiscriminately with knives and crude spikes, wounding whoever they could, sowing still more chaos. Llurch was unlucky, a blade slipping just across his throat.

Within minutes, the fighting had stopped, Twinborn and spiked alike falling back to nurse their wounds and try to sort out the disaster that had just occurred. As the tunnels cleared, Quaqua was left behind, a hole through his chest where he had been impaled by a metal spike. No one was quite sure who killed him, and oddly, no one really cared. Even those who knew him were strangely unconcerned. It was just another of the night's mysteries.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Millie has died! She was a Zinc/Steel Twinborn!

Llurch has died! He was a Zinc/Nicrosil Twinborn!

Quaqua has died! He was a Aluminum/Duralumin Twinborn!

Malrick was attacked, but survived!

Three Pretty Cool items were found! One Awesome item was found!

Rooms:

A1: Awesome     A2: Pretty Cool   A3: Awesome

B1: Pretty Cool   B2: Pretty Cool   B3: Awesome

C1: Awesome    C2: Awesome     C3: Awesome

Due to the unfinished item calculations, PMs will be sent out late, so the day's end is automatically being extended to 10:00PM CDT Friday, at the earliest.

Perhaps, since every other turn has gone over anyways, we should just start the day once everyone has received their PMs? This way, everyone starts the day on the same foot. I know you guys are busy right now (and thank you Aonar for being on top of everything as you have been. This is more your game now than Newan's, since you're who we typically hear from!), but it shouldn't take more than a day to get PMs out, right? After all, all the results are in and nothing is changing, so it's just a matter of making rolls and such at this point. I'd rather we just start the 48 hours from when you guys post that the last PMs are sent out, rather than try to work around all these extensions!

Cylkan woke up to the faint light of a streetlamp streaming through the window. He didn't know where he was or how he had gotten here. Why was he in so much pain? He tried to think about what had happened to get him here. Had he been at the Alehouse and had a few too many drinks? That wouldn't explain the pain or why he could only see out of one eye.

He reached up to his eye and found it covered in fabric, the skin around his eye was hot and covered in what felt like burns. Suddenly he remembered what had happened.

He remembered the spiked and the murders. He remembered his precious streetlamps failing in the night one by one like dying stars. He remembered finding Honerius alone and dying, left by his fellow spiked as a trap. He remembered the terrible heat and being trapped within the rubble. But most of all he remembered the look on Honerius' face just before the explosion.

That terrible evil insane face. The face that was not afraid of death but was excited by the prospect of it, knowing that he would kill Cylkan along with him. He had known Honerius his whole life, they would meet in the alehouse every week. Cylkan would complain about all the young kids messing with his lamps and Honerius would talk about how there was nothing good to trap in these caves. Sure he had been a grumpy old man, but he was still a good man.

That face had not been his friend. Any familiarity had been replaced by the rage of a madman. Something had happened to him. There was no way that the man Cylkan had known could have made that face.

As Cylkan thought about the explosion and Honerius he remembered what had brought him to that ill-fated house in the first place. His lamps, someone had been extinguishing his lamps!

He pushed himself to the side of the bed and tried to stand up. As he tried to stand his left leg gave out on him and he crashed to the ground. The pain was excruciating and he could feel himself on the verge of passing out. As the pain threatened to overtake him he got one look outside the window and he smiled. What Cylkan saw through the window was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen in his life.

Every single streetlamp was lit and bathed the town in a soft yellow light. Cylkan finally gave in to the pain and passed out. But his dreams were not troubled by death and spiked. No, this time as he slept he had a smile on his face as he dreamt of the calm soft light of streetlamps filling his mind.

EDIT: Sorry guys that got a little long. I wasn't really planning it and didn't think I had wrote so much. I agree with what meta posted as I was writing this that we can just start the day from whenever the GMs have sent out the last PM. That is easier for both us and them at this point.

I asked if we could get this clarified in my post in the last cycle, but it wasn't answered.

Eolhondras is in the deceased list due to the mistakes that originally put Dowanx there. Aonar/Newan, can either of you please confirm this is correct?

Also, I agree with starting the cycle when the last of the PMs have been sent out. Not only does it mean the GMs have to rush less, but it also puts everyone on an equal footing, instead of having some people waiting for most of the cycle to find out if their actions had been successful.

My vote for today's cycle is going to Jaelre. There have been several questions raised about him, both in the main threads and also in PMs, so I think it is about time we discovered if what we're hearing is true.

Four attacks were made this cycle!  Woah... guys just cause of we have items that can kill doesn't mean we should use them.  We are doing great with so many spiked killed lets not lose the lead because we go kill crazy.

As for when the cycle should start I also agree that it should also be when all of the PMs go out.

Also could we bring in someone to help you guys GM the game?  For example I know Wilson recently died in the MR game and might have time to help out with this one.  If Wilson can't maybe another experienced GM can step in and help.

As for my vote, I am not sure yet.  Once I receive my PM from the GMs I will post who I am voting for.

We're ahead of you. :P I'm not going to help them GM (I don't have the time for that right now, at least in terms of creativity), but I am helping them. We're just working on the item calculations and a few of the last details with some players, and the PMs should be out. That might be today, but I can't guarantee anything. Once the PMs from the night turn are out though, things should run a lot smoother. I'm getting things a little more set in the spreadsheet, and after I do that I'm probably going to start fiddling with a formula for the item calculations, and if I succeed with that...well. It'll be really quick. :)

Write-up is now finished and complete, PMs coming out momentarily. (They should hopefully come out fairly quickly, tonight.)

EDIT: And done. All PMs have been sent, so the Day is on track to end Friday.

Just so everyone knows, my internet provider has a blackout in my area. It should be back on tomorrow and I have a lot to say once that happens; in PMs and here. I have a lot of information that the entire village deserves to hear.
Posted (edited)

Well, that is good and all, but we shouldn't stop our discussion. I would like to bring something up that has been bugging me for a couple cycles now. I have been contacted twice by people that claimed to have information that could be traced back to me, of Meta being spiked. If anyone has heard this, I never told anyone that in PMs or the thread and I suggest you reconsider your sources of information.

As for the lynch, I think that Jaelre is a good target. However, I would like to hear from other people. Pifferdoo, what do you have to say about everything.

Meta, I have several people saying that it is likely that you are spiked, so I would love to hear what you have to say.

Then it's a good thing I already planned to! ;)

Malrick tried to reach Millie, but the push of the crowd was too strong. They beat at him, like the lashings he'd heard the Lord Ruler's Nobles did to their children to awaken their latent potential. And something broke within him. He'd seen far too much death these last few days and he'd had enough. He felt the weight of all of his ancestors and of their drive to find a world where they could live out their lives in peace; away from the machinations of the Lord Ruler. He couldn't, he wouldn't, let their dream die to the first invaders to their Village. It was time to reveal his potential.

So, he drew on his steel and iron reserves, heightened his senses and his speed with pewter and tin. It was time to find the last of the Spiked....

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________

As stated above, I'm a Mistborn. Last night, there were at least 7 attacks made towards me. Luckily, I was burning Atium as well (something I won't be able to do tonight, which is why I put all of this out here for all of you now) and I was capable of changing my actions to survive. I wasn't given a list of everyone who attacked me, as the GMs thought that might be a bit too powerful, considering how many attacks wound up coming my way. Instead, they gave me the name of the person that dealt the final blow to me.

I find it amusing that you're now trying to discredit me, Neo, since you were one of the people who attacked me last night. Even with me switching actions, I was still hit twice (armor is good to have as well!)

The fact that I was attacked so many times means that the Spiked are well aware of my capabilities. As such, it's time to even the score and let the rest of you know, as I'm unlikely to survive for long.

I found the Lerasium Bead on Night 5 and swallowed it on Night 6. I then performed a double enhanced scan with bronze and tin. This allowed me to have a pretty good idea of who was where and what powers were in which rooms, specifically Hemalurgic powers. Of course, this doesn't tell me whether those powers are Spiked or Kandra; though at this point, I'm starting to wonder if there is a difference. You see, Alv tried to claim that he was a Kandra. We provided him with a test to prove whether or not he could see the Kandra doc. He passed this test, which means that at the very least, some of the Kandra are working with the Spiked. Not to mention that there were, understandably, only a few people that I trusted with my secret of becoming a Mistborn.

So here's a list of people who are likely to be either Kandra or Spiked and afterwards, we can see if the the Kandra will actually work with us to narrow the field down further or if they plan to work with the Spiked. If they decide to work with the Spiked, then we should kill them without prejudice as well.

Araris

Neo

Wonko

Feligion

Jain

Jaelre

Araris is on the list because he's been telling people that (after he found out that I gained Mistborn status) that I am Spiked. I have this from multiple sources. Also, via the two scans I've made, he has Hemalurgic Pewter. So, if he is Kandra, then he is a Kandra working for the Spiked and trying to get me killed.

Neo is on the list, well, because he tried to kill me! If it hadn't been for the Atium, I wouldn't have anything on him yet, as he hasn't revealed any powers during times that I've scanned. Most likely Spiked.

Wonko is the Kandra that Phatt attacked early on. I don't know where he stands on the issue of aiding the Spiked, but he was in the same room as Vine was on the night that Vine died. To be fair though, so was Alv.

Feligion is a Kandra and one of the places that I wound up hearing that Araris is claiming that I am Spiked to others. If I hadn't heard it from other people ahead of time, I wouldn't have believed it, but this had been backed up by others. Plus, he's admitted he's a Kandra in thread, so I don't think I need to go into detail here.

Jain is likely a Kandra, but whether he's helping the Spiked or not, I cannot say. I haven't had any contact with him other than in thread.

Jaelre almost assuredly killed Skrull last night as he was in the same room as Skrull. Also, it was no coincidence that I called him out the other day. My previous scan placed him in a room with one other person. In that same room was a normal ability and a Hemalurgic one, so one of the two had to be a Spiked/Kandra. I believe him to be Spiked.

Now, I might still be missing one or two, but these are the ones that I am confident in. If the Kandra would like to survive, I suggest that they side with the Village at this point and clarify which out of the above actually are Spiked and which are Kandra. I fully suspect that the Kandra will see how loyal the Spiked are when they themselves try to claim to be Kandra. The one thing that I can guarantee you is that you're very unlikely to accidentally kill a Villager if you kill from the above list.

Now, personally, I'd love to see Neo hang, since he tried to kill me (plus, I suspect that he'll continue trying the next night as well), but in the interest of proving my information as valid, Jaelre is our best bet of hitting another Spiked.

I have gotten my scans to someone that I do trust in this game, so even if the Spiked kill me tomorrow, someone will have the information and my death will be able to confirm what I've said here is true. If you have questions for me, I'll do my best to answer them. Thanks and here's to our future victory!

As for the lynch, I think that Jaelre is a good target. However, I would like to hear from other people. Pifferdoo, what do you have to say about everything.

I've good reason to believe that Feligon isn't evil, and the only people that have really spoken to me are either dead now or staying very quiet after I asked some incriminating questions.

I've been a bit inactive, mostly because that's my play style, but also because Musical Season here in Hawley, Minnesota has gone into full swing, and practices don't usually end until 9:00. Before that, I'm hard-pressed to find any time to go on the Shard at all.

Call for extension.

If we let today go to a null vote, then we let the Spiked win already, as they have control over the vote because too many people stopped paying attention. So vote. Standing on the side lines doesn't get you involved; it just makes you a bystander.

If you're confused or have doubts, express them! That's better than being silent. By putting all my info out there, I'm trusting in the Village to actually act. So show that you're worth that trust. Object, confirm, do something that shows that you're still there.

Apathy will win the Spiked this game as this point.

Prove me wrong. I gave you another 24 hours. Don't waste it.

We weren't on track for a null vote Meta. Jaelre has enough votes to be lynched.

Meta, it seems as though you've bought yourself one more day.  If you are not in fact spiked, then I humbly apologize.  I am willing to see how this thing with Jaelre plays out.

Well I suppose we should be making this absolutely certain then. Jaelre

LenReen stood silently, contemplating his options. What he planned went against his every instinct; his kind were never meant for the spotlight. Perhaps if he just tried a little bit harder...

No. Remaining in the shadows is what made me try to kill Malrick. He rose and walked to the podium.

"My name is LenReen of Terris, and I am a Founder. For fifteen generations, I have worked to preserve the work that I laid down here. What Fath... what Rashek -- the man you know as the Lord Ruler -- did was wrong, and only this brave little Village remains to resist him.

"And yet, even now, he seeks to destroy us. He was ever fond of hemalurgy, vilest of Arts. It comes, I think, of his sense of insecurity; he revels in his ability to twist the strengths of his enemies to his own cause. And now he come here -- the Twinborn Village, that last bastion of resistance, lies in peril.

"Men such as Jaelre, in accepting his gifts, betray the very foundation of this Village.

"I cannot help what I am. But I can defend the Village, as I always have. I pray that you will let me."

LenReen drew back from the podium as the crowd burst into excited murmuring. He saw Malrick, in the corner, looking grim; not surprised, perhaps, but deeply hurt. He strode over to him.

"Kwon died, thirteen years ago, of a fever, and not a day passes that I do not mourn his loss."

Malrick looked up sharply. LenReen continued. "I would have you know that he was my closest friend, perhaps the closest I have ever had. He demanded that I take his bones, but I still feel vile for having done so.

"You may know little about me, but I have come to know you. I count you among my friends, Malrick of the Alehouse. I hope that we can remain that way."

LenReen turned to go.

Malrick watched him leave with tears in his eyes.

Alternatively:

LenReen turned to go.

Malrick called, "Wait." Lenreen paused.

"I've always been a lover of history. What say I pour you a drink, and you can tell me all about the early days of the Village."

LenReen turned, a small smile on his face. "I'd like that."

Meta, you decide.

-------------------------

So it seems I've gotten here too late, and all I can do is bandwagon. Yes, Jaelre is almost certainly Spiked, which I have believed since before last night was over; Meta, luckat can tell you why.

So, yeah, I'm a kandra. But I'm also the only kandra who has consistently sided with the Twinborn, in an alliance that I have called Team Twindra. Araris has engaged in some... untrustworthy conduct, Jain is looking out for Jain, and Feligon is... a dinosaur, now, I guess? So take it as you will.

Umm... Meta... I sort of owe you an apology. Araris started the rumors by calling you his Spiked contact, but he didn't have the Twinborn contacts tho make that dangerous. I did. It's my fault that you got attacked last night (though I have no idea where seven attacks came from; I was hoping for three at best). So... sorry about that. I believe now that you are Twinborn; I can help you survive tonight, when the Spiked inevitably go after the public-facing Mistborn, if you want.

The first one, Wonko. I wouldn't say my character has much of a love of history unless it relates to his family history, but that doesn't mean that he's going to abandon the friendship entirely. I'll try to do up some RP later tonight.

Considering this now seems like it's a done deal, I retract my call for an extension so that we can move things along. If not, we'd just be sitting here for the next 24 hours, as I don't think Jaelre is going to step forward to try to defend himself.

Jain finished shoveling the last mound of earth onto the fresh graves. The sudden increase of dead people had certainly overworked his schedule. Before him, three new gravestones had joined the growing ranks.

Well, that took a turn for the dramatic. Jaelre, I knew it was suspicious that you became active again, but I wanted to give you benefit of the doubt, since I had done the same thing. Still, can't have any Spiked left alive.
