LG110, Day 1-D: The Final Day (Inverted)

I'm pretty sure I get it.

I'd figured out that if I bought either silver-rupee Masks I'd just get NKed before I could use either of them. Which meant my options for a D1D (heh) were either 1) try Mayoring everything out before my death, 2) preventing my death, or 3) just going Dingo and seeing what everyone else would do.

Mayoring would suck, especially because my loop N1C Mayoring went so well, but also because I knew to some degree what to do differently - force people to buy masks in D1 to identify who was getting which, and that's... lame. Also because it would involve keeping Burnt alive until Final Day so we weren't stuck on a 50/50 then, which would also suck to try and accomplish and for Burnt. Oh, also I'd be dead again, and... well, if you read the loop 3 dead doc you can see how much trying to wrangle a village through Hael's translations and the wild tinfoil theories of suspicious villagers and deflecty elims sucks. (Seriously, why is believing there was a secret ghost Captain Elim in the L1 Dead Doc easier than maybe Ashbringer is actually doing something )

Preventing my death would suck, because I would need to grab Stone, and if I were doing things optimally probably also grab the other defensive Masks (Romani) to know for sure that we wouldn't get blindsided by an Elim that just didn't die D3, and then I've just made myself immortal, which means I'm stuck Mayoring whether I like it or not. Also I still don't get the fun 100-Rupee Masks. 

 Then option 3 is just dropping a vote on Mist and just RPing the entire time I was alive (ie going Dingo, which I'm realizing many people weren't here for). Which despite knowing the village was winning, I still went for, because... man I'm tired and I spent half the game in a dead doc 

 

But this day working how it did is kinda an example of why Loop 4 would be broken - the Village has everything it needed to figure out the Elim team, minus Coco/Twin and without my help. Played normally it would just be this over 10 days while the Elims juggle control masks and the Village juggle protective masks and neither side can really control the outcome of those, and with many decisions they could make premade for them. (Except Stone Mask. Hence why Stone Mask is really the only mech problem I have with the game - that thing is too dang strong lol)

All good. The painful things happened during N3 so we'd already resolved the stressful turn. 

And to be honest, if not for the e!scan on me I'd probably not sus'd you. I probably wouldn't have bothered to work out the Keaton thing either.

Would it help to know that I originally did not bid for the Captain's mask? I was going to go for Bremen, and figured it would be better to leave the Captain's mask for a more engaged villager. It was only figuring that better an unengaged villager than the elims, and that it'd be nice to chill in a doc that I changed my bid to include and prioritise it. Apparently I was the only one to bid for it L3D1

I am sorry about the doc colour verification thing, though I'm pretty we would have been able to verify to TUM and Wahr's satisfaction regardless.

Yeah…so funny story I was actually planning to try the exact same thing and claim mask of truth to you just in loop 4. It’s okay we all have trust issues, yours just seem to go the other way! (Which tbh might be a good thing in general, just not for this game)

I went to check that I'd probably pulled the idea of names having teeth coming from Schlock Mercenary's 70 Maxims of Maximally Effective Mercenaries, and while it was (maxim 16), a lot of the other maxims felt appropriate to this game or SE in general

• 5. Close air support and friendly fire should be easier to tell apart. (the Stick/Coco exe)

I realized the test would need to be D3 but too late to change it. Mostly it was checking who had Keaton, assuming that there was no way both Burnt and Doc would be Elim. But also it was supposed to rob a redirect. Also, had I not gotten NKed, Circus Mask would help extra check, but I was... well...

It wasn’t too hard, people dying made it easier since I could reset them to 20, but you’ll notice I never once said a specific rupee count for someone, just that they could or could not get a mask. And who would win a tie, I never had exact numbers

Just because sometimes I throw comments out like "practice opsec/pm safety!", here's an example of what I mean, and why I try and be particular about how I present information.

The only PMs I've sent this game were the three last night.

I suggest in the first that it wasn't impossible for me to get to 50 rupees though I didn't have the activity. I state in the second that I did not have the Stone Mask, and reference being close to affording it. And in the third I list all of my rupee earnings.

I did not claim to have not purchased any mask, nor did I claim to have 45 rupees in pocket by the start of N1-C. The L3N1 post might imply I had been saving rather than spending by saying I was kinda close, but I was referencing the hypothetical max rupee counts I had discussed in the first post.

That's not how the elims read those posts however (from L3N2):

I didn't lie about anything but I managed to mislead the elims, albeit unintentionally, by only sharing the necessary details (in this case, whether there was a possibility of me affording a mask) and not filling in every detail (liking having the Captain's Hat L3 or Don Gero L2, both ruling me out of being the L3 Don Gero holder).

I thought the same thing  Aman had said he was going to do a cool scene for Link. There was a cool scene, but then an explosion the same turn the other Goron died, so I accused Aman of thinking all Goron's looked the same. He clarified that it was intended to be my Goron, and that the captain's actions were to save his life.

The table in the bottom of the doc was me, but I honestly gave up midway loop 2 xD occasionally updated for when it was relevant, like checking who could get a purple, but a lot of people's never got updated in loop 3 xD

Though regardless of whether postman could see who pms, i was always going to pm my buddies, even so that if in general conversation it could come up that we message without it being a lie that could be caught.

Some of my pms were fake and just in the elim doc, but I genuinely pmed doc and stick, mostly nonsense though xD. So my rupee count was always a bit off from having to track how many rupees I had vs how many village thought I had >.>
