Nick turns to @SpiritOfWrath and @TwinSouls. “You two: see if you can find a significant water source. Depending upon how much time we have, I might be able to stop us from falling.” he thinks for a second. “When you both teleport, is it momentum canceling? If so, you should teleport into the air or on to the ground just as we’re about to hit; that will stop you from being hurt. Can either of you bring people or things?”

“I can” Glinte says, picking up a rock and teleporting to a shaded tree with it “I have to know what I’m looking for though.”

“If I can find a river or lake, I can probably make enough hydrogen for neutral buoyancy. If you carry someone, do they come with you? And if you’re moving when you teleport, do you stop? Because that could save you and one other person, maybe two depending upon your range. I think we can get out of this alive.”

“Uhhhhhh… I think I just need to be touching somebody, I stop moving when I teleport, and I’d guess I can move about two or three other people.”

“It is not momentum cancelling. Third once explained it to me as taking me out of reality and back in, just in a slightly different spot. I can bring things and people, though. It requires touch, but if there were more of me, the requirements would be more… lax.”

Tenth nodded. “I will go to find water, though. Tenth went off to do this.

“That’s probably not good… the xenosuit might heal that over time - I wish I had access to actual medical knowledge. Maybe the hideout will have a computer I can access.” Assuming OWEN speaks to Nick as well, he continues. “Kaleb is currently lying on my paraglider; the hydrogen in it counts as learning for fly, sort of, and I’m trying to find enough water to make a full-on floating platform. Glinte’s teleportation is momentum canceling, so that can help another couple of people. And yeah, I was hoping the magic light orb could get us some enlightenment. Literally or figuratively. Anyway, I’m rambling; we have stuff to do.”
Nick looks around again. “I can go work on the floating platform. If you can’t move yet, you should do the glowy orb negotiation.” He finds a good spot and presses his arms to tree trunks, planning to drain their biomolecules for his own purposes.  @J. Magi “Hey Aki, do you have any ideas?”

OWEN immediately turns off the boosters so that Kaleb's stretcher falls too.

Nick swears repeatedly in a language that seems to require rolling several different consonants. “Glinte, Tenth! Work together to momentum cancel then teleport people to safety! OWEN, what are you doing? Use the stretcher the way it was actually designed and glide Kaleb to safety! Save me last; I think I have the best chance of surviving the drop, or perhaps Sleeper does. SIMON, see how much shock absorption you can get set up in the next thirty seconds!”

Dave (it took me a long time to think of a reason) didn’t get pinged, but seems to have responded. 

The stretcher is floating because of hydrogen; turning off the thrusters will not equalize the buoyancy. In fact, as that thrusters are fueled with the hydrogen, keeping them on would make the stretcher drop. But I don’t think I explained that very well.
