Yes, the main weakness is that the anti-tear layer is flammable and the non-flammable layer can be torn, so a flaming conventional weapon, or alternating between flamethrowers and guns, can pierce them easily. They also can't adapt quickly enough to a powerful energy discharge, for instance a lightning bolt, a boulder, or something similar. If Nick were to know that he might get struck by lightning, he could spend twenty minutes growing a Faraday cage, but it would be cumbersome and resource intensive. And of course, something like a railgun round, an absurdly corrosive chemical, or a strong magical attack simply cannot be blocked. And dropping him into a very low energy but dangerous environment, such as the vacuum of space, would burn through a lot of battery trying to protect him.

Nick shakes Tenth's hand, his xenosuit glove cool to the touch, with some sort of waffling over a non-Newtonian fluid. It doesn't stretch the imagination much to imagine it's bulletproof. "I wish the situation wasn't so dire, but it is truly nice to meet you."

My name is Nick, and I've been being shunted through dimensions with these four for a couple days now. Unfortunately, unless we can somehow beat the king, we're stuck in the rotation. There isn't really anything I can do about that right now, but I think we have a chance."

Thus, I’m calling the items that facilitate the magic powers ‘exotic matter’ which is a common term for something theoretical that violates the laws of physics as we know them.”

“Interesting. My job is literally to take strange things found on other planets and use them in devices. If your powers follow consistent rules, I might be able to help.” Nick considers whispering the next sentence, but realizes it won’t do any good. “Meryyn, who is from the world of the people teleporting us, but is trying to stop it, managed to put our next stop at some sort of safe house. It will contain things to help us, potentially including that device.”

Hmmm… I know how to do space travel with the powers, but should I reveal it? A small bit of info would make it pretty obvious. You wouldn’t be able to do it, but it would greatly enhance my powers

Basically, I travel farther if I am moving when I teleport.

Kaleb collapses onto the floor, eyes rolling back into his head.

He knelt by him and pulled out some bandages. To his surprise, JAMES started listing off helpful first aid tips as he began to work on Kaleb.

Nick isn't great with magic. He can figure out something to do with the result of the magic, but he barely has any idea of how to actually mess with it. But that would be something he could notice. What happens if you jump then teleport into the air when you're about to hit the ground...

Nick looks alarmed. "Why did I give away my blood loss inhibitor. The suit hasn't grown enough to keep him conscious, but it should be able to keep him alive." Indeed, both of you should have had the suits grow to about your elbow since Nick gave them to you.

I guess I would just not teleport as far as usual, since my velocity would negative for the direction I'm teleporting in. I haven't considered teleporting into a solid object, though. I guess I would either displace it or replace it, as that's what's happening when I teleporting in the air

"I can carry him if he stays unconscious," Aku suggested as he finished up his bandaging.
