The battle is fairly calm at the moment, with a lot of posturing between the invading force and the guard on the wall. You notice that the enemy seemingly only has one catapult, and are not as well armored or geared as the guards of the city.

You do, however, notice a contingent of about fifty riders on horses.

Nick is torn. Sabotaging the catapult would end the battle, but it would also start it. (Which side had the horses?) He pings Kaleb with his glasses. @Ancient Elantrian “What do I do about this? They’re not actually fighting yet.”

Kaleb rushes to the gate, flinging a handful of crystals at it from his pouch. A wall of thick ice explodes in front of the gate, almost twice as tall as it is.

The bright colors of Nick’s suit fade, swapping places with a set of camouflage cells he had a template for. “Got it, I’ll wait here.” Nick hides in a shrub, and his xenosuit melds with the plant, draining it of nutrients and water while leaving leaves and branches. He selects one branch to turn to his glaive contraption.

He jumps up, leaves and branches melded with his suit. Running forward, now-drained leaves fluttering to the ground, he attempts get in the way of the cavalry charge.

The horses keeping charging, intending to trample him. Knights on horses lower lances.

The largest branch on the bush straightens itself, somehow, and Nick plants it against the ground. His suit and his stick are both enhanced; running into him shouldn’t hurt, as long as he protects his head.

The riders keeping charging, a lance ramming hard into your shoulder in the mess of hooves, lances and daggers.
