  1. 1. What do you want to happen to this RP when the current plotline ends?

    • Start another RP of the same characters, like a season 2
      3
    • Keep going with no plan at all
      0
    • Make new characters and have an RP of a similar concept, but, effectively with a new party
      3
    • End the RP (THIS ONE BETTER NOT WIN BUT I FELT I HAD TO ADD IT ANYWAYS)

The blade, in fact, is supernaturally heavy. (As in, over three tons.)

One beam strikes him in the chest, blasting through his armor and throwing him to the ground. Several soldiers rally to defend him, and a few raise some pistol-like handheld crossbows and fire a small storm of darts up at Larry.

A knife spins around like a helicopter blade, joins with another flying knife and goes rocketing towards the commander.

Nick tries to pull his foot out from under it, but fails. Having the xenosuit pull as many nutrients from the foot and boot, he cuts it off with the glaive. As long as his brain was intact, he could regrow it later.

Larry throws a fist in the air in celebration before a dart hits his glove. He ducks behind the merlon to pull out the dart. He raises his communicator and finds SIMON's channel again. "Think you can take them down? If you're trying close-combat, I don't want to shoot towards you."

“Got it. Do you have specs for the blaster? Although actually, that’d take out the anti-tear layer. Yeah, don’t shoot at me; I can’t protect myself from both energy and kinetic weapons at once.” Nick swings his glaive in arcs, draining blood from soldiers if he spots an opportunity. As his damaged foot regrows, he stumbles and catches himself by firing hydrogen thrusters. He focuses on the crossbow soldiers, trying to stop them from hitting Larry. Darts and swords fail to penetrate his suit, and he grows more confident, parrying with his forearm while attacking using the glaive.

The soldiers part around Nick in fear when they see him chop off his own foot and keep moving, scrambling away. The commander, barely still alive, on the ground, removes his helmet and throws it over to Nick.

A soldier at the back of the army frantically waves a white flag.

Nick stops fighting. “Do you surrender?” he calls out, SIMON having gathered enough context to allow him to speak the language of the commander. “Those I have struck down will live. I lack the words to explain why.”

"We..." The commander coughs blood. "We surrender, daemon. May we meet in another life where you are weaker, and I the stronger."

Nick walks over and helps the commander up. “I am mortal, though my armor is as high above yours as yours would be above a man fighting with fallen branches. I lack the influence to dictate terms of surrender, but I will grant - I lack the word. It removes wounds, protects from harm from it. - if your people leave. If you are aiming to gain food, I can attempt to grow it for you.”

“What… What are you?”

“I am a man, like you. But I come from a place very far away. A place where many people are - I do not know the word. People who think up ways to make things better. Yes, inventor. Many people where I come from are inventors. We invented ways to make plants grow however we want. We make them grow incredibly fast, and as strong as steel. We travel in ships that sail through the sky, and go to distant lands with strange people, and strange creatures. And as we go, we find more plants that we can use, and people with ideas we can improve.”

Nick decides to take a risk and remove his hood. He should be fast enough to block any projectiles that would threaten his brain, at least those these people had access to. “I am here by accident, and I want to keep everyone here alive, before I have to leave again. A man from another land sent me here; he has even more inventions than I do, and can somehow send people through space in an instant. But that does not matter. I can grow a plant that will act as a healing salve - it will prevent from dying of blood loss.” Nick gives the commander a piece of biofabric, which, true to his word, will encourage blood clotting while compensating for the lack of blood.

The commander looks up at him, confused. "Alas, I fear it has been too long for myself to survive. Your friend with his light-bow, well, he is quite effective. I can feel blood seeping into my throat and lungs, and can no longer feel my hands..."

He sighs.

"Why do you defend them, One who Claims?"

Nick put his hood back up; being seen as responsible for their commander’s death after he surrendered could start the fighting again. “Use it anyway. The salve helps you survive without air. Maybe I can get the blood out of your lungs. Somehow.”

The commander sighs. "Let me die, One who Claims. It is a worse dishonor to be defeated and spared to die, sick in bed, than it is to fall for a true purpose in battle. I am barely alive at this moment. Only Kiberite sustains my life, for a shard of the gem is embedded in my brain, and another in my heart." He speaks as if everyone would know about this 'Kiberite' (Which is pronounced Kee-ber-ite) It's not something SIMON or Nick has ever heard of before.

Behind the hood, Nick appears mournful. “Very well.” Not truly knowing the commander’s beliefs, he decides to simply nod and stand solemnly.

Oddly, the commander's skin goes ashen, and his eyes go gray. Slowly bits of dust rise of off him and he slowly dissolves into the air.

Except for two tiny shards of yellow crystal, small enough that SIMON barely noticed them.

Nick considers examining them, but decides it would be irreverent. He simply walks away, planning to meet up with the others.

After deciding it was probably safe again and there were no more darts, Larry peeked out again and saw Nick walking away from an empty suit of armor. Oh good God. He totally ate him. That suit 100% recycled that guy. He set his rifle back up to scope in, but saw the white flag and the battle dying down. He refolded the blaster and made his way back to the ground. Larry considered interrogating Nick about the commander, but decided against it. He's going to eat me too if he knows I know. Instead, he just looked around for the rest of the group.

“Uh oh.” Nick quickly hands the biofabric scrap to a random soldier. “This will stop people from dying of blood loss if you rub it on their wound. It will last around a day. Use it on both sides. Farewe-“ Nick disappears.

All of you appear in a dark forest, huge pines tall around you. Stars glitter overhead, and the moon shines palely from behind branches and needles.

As you look around, you see that two more people have appeared with you.

@TwinSouls

@SpiritOfWrath

They appear as you first did, in a flash of light and in a slight daze.

Around you, branches rattle in a chill wind, and all is silent.

Then, Meryyn's voice.

He...Damn. He caught two more of them. By the way, I'm currently a fugitive on my homeworld. I tried to mess with the system again, and got caught. Barely escaped. But, the first thing I changed still worked. The next time you shift, you'll appear in a hideout that I've organized to have sets of weapons and gear appropriate for your respective worlds. I'm not alone here, but I do still need help.

We've tried to construct a kind of version of the mechanism that started this cycle, but the way we discovered this, well, it's hard to understand.

My father, he's relentless. We've not had much time, and now, with his inventions, he has become one of the highest ranking in all the consortium. Right. You have no clue what I'm talking about.

Stay alive, is what I mean to say. He has soldiers and spies, assassins in the dark from various planets. He...Well, there are people like him everywhere. Those who'll do anything for some gold. And he has a lot of gold to offer.

A familiar voice, that of Meryyn's father, the one who started this and trapped you in this cycle, appears.

You think they can defeat me, son? I am a King. There will never be another like me. I am the one who did this, the one who changed the world. I will never be forgotten.

I can change realitly to my whims. I can call armies from other, more powerful worlds. I am... I am a God.

You will never raise a true resistance against me, son. In fact, I shouldn't even be calling you that. You.. You infuriating little child, you are no longer my son, and no longer a Prince.

Tenth looked around confusedly.
“Where am I? Who is this King?” He teleporting a few feet to the right. He cursed. “I need to return to the army.”

So wait do I start with the starting gear, or do I get it shortly?

Nick listens to Meryyn. The hideout and its supplies should be invaluable, although Nick hoped for some exotic matter as well; it seemed that other worlds had energy generation that dwarfed that of the IISC. The armies, though, sounded worrying. They likely had weapons that could pierce a xenosuit; it wasn't actually all that difficult, if you knew what to do. Hopefully Meryyn's father hadn't done his research.

Nick gestures for the two newcomers to calm down. "This is going to sound crazy, but you've been pulled from your world by that king guy, who somehow has access to godlike powers. My name is Nick, and I've been being shunted through dimensions with these four for a couple days now. Unfortunately, unless we can somehow beat the king, we're stuck in the rotation. There isn't really anything I can do about that right now, but I think we have a chance."

What kind of stuff does go through Xenosuits? I remember that they were flammable, is that the main weakness?

Tenth straightened. He didn’t necessarily believe him, but it was a start. He stiffly held out his hand to the man, noting appreciatively the technological wonder. All he had was rifle and Kevlar.
“Tenth of the Giants.”
