Isek nodded, taking a branch in both hands, which groaned ominously as he held it.

No time like the present, he thought. Isek pulled, lifting himself a few inches into the air and reached for the next branch. The one he was holding snapped.

Isek dropped to the ground with the loud scraping of metal on stone.

"I think making a ladder would be easier," Isek said looking up at his companions. Ast'avi, and... the other one. At least he remembered one of their names. Isek planted his feet, and using the metal stick he had made earlier as a reference, allowed thick steel to ooze from his fingers, running like liquid up and down, forming a tick ladder up to the overhanging ledge. It took a long time, shaping this much metal was time consuming, but at long last he leaned it against the ledge, and climbed up.

Avi nodded, impressed.

"That's a useful skill," she said.

The monster roared in pain a third time, shaking. I’ikeq ran out of the way as the thing started shaking; it collapsed with a loud, wet thud.

"Well, that was over quick."

And a good thing too. Kaeli hadn't had to use her own magic on that thing. She retrieved her arrow and returned it to her quiver after ensuring the shaft hadn't warped at all. "I guess let's keep going."

Sorry!

What's up with the vests again?

They're both incredibly comfy and protective against attacks! This just proves once again that Death has great job benefits.

Thanks Nerdy. I think this will work.

"Don't point out how good your luck is, that always leads to dis--" Isek cut off as some large and heavy slammed into his back, knocking him onto the ground. Something shard began digging at his neck. It was too heavy for him to shake it off, and yet, when he tried to look at it there was nothing there.

(Rolls d20) 17.

Il'anque whipped around as Isek cut off. He was struggling on the ground, but... there didn't seem to be anything holding him down? Or was there...?

Duck, Il'anque thought. Something - she couldn't tell what - narrowly missed her head.

Maybe I shouldn't have said that.

Isek grunted, forming a metallic fist on his neck, and used it to punch whatever it was that was on his back.

He was rewarded by a deep yip, as the weight disappeared.

He stood up, willing the metal back into his body as he held up his metal stick in a defensive posture. He still couldn't see anything.

Invisible little bugger.

"Where'd he go?"

Edit: Or not. I suppose it falls to me, then.

"How did all of you end up coming here?" Kaeli asked, kicking aside an exceptionally large rat as she summited a small crest.

Atren paused for a moment, leaning a hand against the wall next to him and looking down at how far he had come. It seemed far shorter a distance back than it had felt to travel.

I would like to request a monster attack.

I suppose I could oblige, but it'd be more fun if you bumped into another group.

“I just wanted to be somewhere… different,” said I’ikeq.

"I mean..." Kaelie glanced out to the dark horizon. "As places go, the Underworld's pretty different."

Caoimhe watched Ele'maiya charge the monster. She couldn't tell what the monster was. She pulled an arrow from her quiver and carefully calmly she nocked the arrow pulled the string back. She started to try and aim but Ele'maiya was in the way a bit.

Ele’maiya ducked as the monster sent a huge clawed hand her way. Dodging and weaving between its attacks, she eventually broke through to its tough, thick hide. Now, how to kill it…

She looked behind her to see Caoimhe taking aim with her bow and arrow. Maiya tried to keep her fighting down low, at the monster’s legs and lower torso, so Caoimhe could shoot for its head.

I’m not sure what monster this is - feel free to name it or give it a name thats already been used by the other groups. Or it can just be a monster.

Avi drew her dagger and glanced around, looking for signs of the invisible beast. Even as she did it, she wracked her head, trying to figure out exactly what kind of monster it could be.

An Aki'lera, she thought. That must be-

A vision hit her.

She had a distinct sense of the future; an invisible claw, swinging over her head. The vision ended, throwing her back into the present.

Avi immediatley ducked, and, just as the vision had predicted, she felt the air shift as an invisible claw swung over her. She fell into a roll and spun, stabbing at the invisible beast. She was rewarded with a yelp, and dark blood appeared as if from nowhere, coating her dagger and spurting from around it.

"It just felt right, I guess."
