Elya sucked in a breath, then firmly jerked the knife out of his chest and shoved a wad of bandage to the wound.

[Quivil]

Kazh looked down at the bandage wad and drew one of his knives. "I could cauterize that maybe."

"It's a large wound. You--"

The blood began soaking through. She was running out of bandages.

"Alright. Do it."

For everyone reading this, if someone gets stabbed DO NOT REMOVE THE KNIFE let medical personel do that.

"I've got some antisceptic." John called, grapping some from his bag.

But yes. If you're ever faced in a situation like this irl, never remove the knife and leave it to the professionals.. unless you have been trained and are a professional.

Elya took the antiseptic and started dribbling it across the bandages, pressing it into the wound. She quickly examined the dagger, making sure it wasn't poisoned or barbed at all. Puffing out a breath and nodding, she held Ji steady for Kazh to cauterize the wound.

He shoved flame into his knife as fast as he could, and cast flaming weapon just for good measure. The knife was glowing in seconds. As he heated the knife, he spoke. "I could stab him in the exact same spot to stop the internal bleeding or I could just try to burn the surface shut. Which?"

"That's too hot. Cool it off and heat it until it just barely red, then hand it to me."

As she entered the Enchanted Realm, a wide array of colors came off the people she looked at, besides the corpses; they, on the other hand, held a tiny pinprick of black and white Light. They all streamed from the same source, branching off of Arya into their otherwise dead forms. A few corpses ran out of Light, falling to the ground as Arya backed off from the attacks.

Arya's chest was a beacon of black and white Light, swirling together as it worked hard and branched off to the corpses around her. Bright and dark red popped off in her head, desperately wanting to bleed out into the world around it.

When Grace looked over Ji, his head was filled with a more subdued tone of red; more subdued than earlier. There still was an anger to it, but it seemed to burn with more of a purpose than just rage; and every so often, there were still little pops of pink appearing every here and there. Near the edges of the head colors were that dark blue and gray, almost in the background, but still taking up residence in his mind.

The head-colors burned a bright angry red- and as Grace watched the fight unfold, she finally realized what they were. Emotions. Her head spun. What could this mean, that the soul's glow showed emotion as well as power? Was this, perhaps, tied to the mysterious emotional effects native to Medietas? In all the books that Grace had read, information on such events was frustratingly vague. It had been one of her main reasons for coming here, but up until now she'd had no way of even measuring it. Now...

I can't take these off, she thought to herself. Can't risk the chance of missing an event.

In the shadows that marked the real world, the Deathgranter fell. Oh- right, thought Grace. The attack. Well, the others seemed to have dealt with it fairly well on their own, given the fading light from the- 

Wait. Was that knife... glowing? Grace bent in to take a closer look- surely she couldn't be that lucky.

Kazh dropped the knife on the ground and drew his other knife, heating it slower this time. "Tell me when to stop."

[Channelknight Fadran]

"Surface." Elya said immediately. "We just need to stop the bleeding for now, and avoid damaging any of his organs. If any of them have been cut already..."

Elya fell silent. Internal wounds weren't exactly her speciality.

"We'll want to take care of those in a more controlled environment," she finished.

[Frustration]

John took a look.

"It looks like it missed all of his organs, I don't think there are any arteries there." He sighed.

"I don't think we can wait."

His eyes fluttered, beginning to close as his breaths slowed.

Almost impossible to see, but there was indeed a small pinprick of black and white Light.

"Alright." Elya nodded, swallowing. She tried to keep her gaze steady, but even that was proving difficult. "Do what you think would be best. Please."

John nodded, then took the knife from the Mystic.

"Hold him down."

Carefully removing the bandages he applied the knife along the wound. Holding it for just a second he removed it before applying again.

His instructors had told him the key to cauterization was time, prolongued contact was neccesary, but if left too long the burn would cause it's own problems.

Kazh picked up his overheated knife, cancelled the structured fire on it, cooled it, and sheathed it.

Compared to the rest of the pain, the cauterizing didn't feel like anything. He twitched, gasping and coughing up little drops of blood.

[Frustration]

John watched the wound carefully, lifting the knife ever few seconds. When it stopped bleeding he set the knife aside.

"We need to move."

[Channelknight Fadran]

"I was about to say the same thing." Elya retrieved her sword, sheathed it, then scooped up Ji and held him close. "Just follow me, and stay alert: I doubt that she'll be the only Reaper we'll run into today."

[Frustration]

John nodded and reloaded his gun.

He had failed, one dead and another in critical condition.

He felt Saaphir's face burn into his memory.

"I will remember you, and my fault in it."

Grace said a quick prayer of thanks to Ko'ad and transitioned back into the Physical Realm.

John spun with gun raised.

"Oh, it's you."
