Ji nodded, his eyelids growing heavy. He tried to follow the conversation, but it was just too exhausting to try.

"Just rest for now, please, if you can." Elya let go of him, then knelt down to pick him back up.

He was already out. A peaceful expression replaced the exhaustion; very rare to see one of those on him.

Elya released a relieved sigh, standing up with him limp in her arms. "Alright; that's that taken care of. But we aren't done yet."

She spent the next few minutes tucking Ji away into a small alleyway, bundling his sweater under his head as a pillow. It was warm enough that he'd be fine like that for a few hours. Checking one last time to make sure he'd be fine, Elya left the alleyway and looked back around at the group.

"Now we have some Mystics to kill."

"We can't keep fighting them the way we have been. Let's gather some supplies and fight them on our terms."

"We can't. They know exactly where we are and exactly where we're going. The longer we wait, the longer their odds increase."

[Frustration]

"We've lost one man already and almost lost a third. If we fight them on their terms we will lose." John said.

"I have some ideas that are pretty cheap, and can be quickly put together."

"What was all that about?" asked Grace. "She wanted to trade the serum for... you agreeing to stop fighting? What is she going to do if you don't?"

"We've already healed Ji, so we don't have to worry about that anymore. As for not fighting..."

Elya whipped out her sword, gripping the hilt and feeling the metal cry out with a familiar ring.

"Well... I lied."

Elya scanned the area with a quick burst of Mystic power. The Reapers were watching for sure, but just lying in wait for now.

"Maybe..." She muttered, then turned to John. "Alright. We have... I'd say three hours."
