recently finished listening to the book while i was at work (sorry i’m late to the party), and i liked it and thought it was rather interesting to basically have a time jump to the next era in the cosmere. ofc i have thoughts on it besides the obvious ones that everyone else has been talking about, but i haven’t seen many (if any) people talk about some of the small implied things, so here we are. disclaimer: as i implied, i have only listened to the book; i don’t have the physical copy. so please forgive any misspellings and if things don’t quite make sense bc i’m going off of what i heard/remember. 1. the only scadrians mentioned are the malwish; no mention of the people in the basin y’all probs already noticed this and talked about it but it’s still interesting. for me, the malwish becoming the galactic power hungry warlords in the cosmere makes sense from what i can remember reading about them in second era of mistborn (it’s on the “to-reread” list but i’m beginning with Elantris rn, so this might be a misremember). what was very interesting to me was that even though we saw and heard what the malwish were doing, nothing was said of the basin. so i’m very intrigued of what happened to them, bc we now know that it aint pretty. i wouldn’t be surprised if the malwish did something along the lines of slavery bc allomancy and scadrial is no stranger to slavery, but i also wouldn’t be surprised if they looked at the basin and then their technology and said: “bet we’d win.” not only that, but there was nothing said about any allomancers (twinborn or not). it could be a slavery thing like i mentioned earlier, but i also had the idea that the allomancy genes might’ve faded out if that makes sense (there’s a scientific term but idk it). like we already saw some of it in the second era of mistborn (especially compared to the first era of mistborn), so that might’ve happened if the malwish conquered them, which is a high possibility. honestly for me, it’s an either/or for the slavery or the just faded away with genes or whatever the scientific term for that is called. anyways, interested to hear any thoughts abt that. 2. Sazed probably still has the Shards not too sure abt this one tbh, bc i remember someone in the book mentioning that they were a pathian (idk how it’s spelled), which made me intrigued since that’s Harmony’s thing and blah blah blah. however, just bc they follow the Path doesn’t mean that Sazed still has the Shards; could be someone else for all we know, but i don’t think that would happen without the scadrians knowing. there was also no mention of his Intent changing from Harmony to Discord, so that could’ve also happened with what we saw in the epilogue of TLM. my reasoning isn’t strong with this one, but it does make me think. 3. only seeing skybreakers?? pretty sure that someone (i won’t say Sanderson bc i can’t remember and don’t want to misquote) said that the only order of knights radiant that would continue if everyone else died out would be the skybreakers. so only seeing the skybreakers represent the rosharians was interesting to me. idk, i don’t have much to say abt this one besides that it was interesting to me. maybe i should actually sit down and read WaT and not the synopsis before saying anything abt roshar rn but idk. but those were some of the implied thoughts i had. none of these are ground breaking or life changing as others, but things that made me think a lil bit and i wanna hear some thoughts from yall.

The Serpent King’s Pilgrimage
Mystic Syn replied to Through the Living Shadow's topic in Roleplaying
An unfamiliar calm settled the tension in his shoulders, letting him exhale to close his eyes. Scenes replayed themselves in his mind’s eye, causing his eye to twitch. And yet, his smile returned. ”Thank you,” he whispered, taking a few steps forward. -

Cilix closed his eyes and took in a deep breath. “Dominance,” he replied with an exhale. “Please.” -
She grumbled some more things quietly, then nodded. “Fine. Tavern, you said? That’s where I pay this chilln’ fee?”

Cilix looked around, scratching the back of his head as the smile came back. Was this what everyone was reacting to earlier? That would make an awful lot of sense. Did the man from earlier say something about this? About the voice? How could they know about… He turned his head to look at the world behind, his smile fading for a second. ”There’s nothing there for me anymore,” he whispered, looking back ahead, a grin touching his lips. “So yes.” -
She rolled her eyes and muttered something under her breath. “Not with the Nobles,” she finally answered. “Happy?”

The Serpent King’s Pilgrimage

Cilix looked down at his brand, a single flash of sorrow appearing in his duo-colored gaze before he put on a small smile. No use in dwelling too long on what had happened… that wouldn’t end well. Besides, if this was what it would take for him to go back home and to the life he had before, then so be it. Only about three things to do, and he could do that. He watched the others––some of them mumbling to themselves while others looked confident––and sat by to watch them one-by-one enter into the Gate. Each of them looked like they were talking… or rather, reacting to something. Not to each other, it seems like… If this is what it takes, he thought with an exhale as he stepped through the Gate. -
Kasha breathed into her hands, steam rising from them. “And who might I be talking to?”

Kasha cursed softly, rubbing her wrists as she stared at the… well, she couldn’t quite call this humanoid a man, let alone a person; not with the claims he was making. Her gaze followed the figure and other man––Nikolas?––as they made their way into the unknown, vanishing from her sight within seconds. ”Death creates life,” she scoffed to herself as she rose to her feet and brushed off any remaining snow and debris. “What has this world come to..?” No use in letting it go to waste though. Kasha rubbed her hands, feeling some warmth come to her fingertips as she held them over the lantern for a few seconds. However she was going to repay this was beyond her. Yet another thing for her to mull over before she slept at night. She shuffled over to the unconscious soldier, tapping him with her foot with no response, yet his chest rose and fell with soft breaths. Interesting, she thought, crouching down to grab her revolver and cane, sticking the latter in the snow. She checked through his pockets and found some sort of rations and other assorted supplies––some even looking like some sort of warming gadgets––quietly putting them in her pockets. Didn’t seem like he was going to need them for a while, so no time like the present. She was careful to button up his coat and tighten his gloves, pulling a piece of cloth she assumed to be a mask over his face. Kasha pulled on her own gloves and placed the revolver under her coat on her side, then buttoned up the coat, pulled up a mask over her nose and mouth, pulled down snow goggles, and threw her fluffy hood over her head. She bent over and tightened the laces on her boots till it almost hurt, then rose and snatched up her cane to ruffle the snow a bit, covering her tracks. With a grunt, Kasha trudged over to the lantern and picked it up, continuing to move the snow a bit behind her for some… interesting tracks as she took a few steps, before stopping to turn to the other figure. “Well, I dunno about you,” she said to the other prisoner, her voice muffled through the mask, “but I don’t want to hang out here for long, and I’ll be damned if more of those soldiers came.” Kasha glanced over at the unconscious body, then back to the figure. “If you wanna join me, I’d suggest you get up now so we can get a move on.” @RoyalBeeMage Before waiting for a response, she turned down the road where that Death figure had pointed to. The one away from the Nobles.

She shrugged again. “Not much of anything, I’m afraid.” Kasha flicked her gaze back at the guard. “Names are hard for me, so do you happen to have a description?”
