Grace looked around the alleyway, burning the details of it into her mind. That done, she closed her eyes and remembered.

A cave, solitude echoing.

She vanished.

--

Grace opened her eyes in a cavern. Relatively small, dimly lit. Home. Various items lay scattered on the floor. She walked over to one of them, a heavy stone pot about half as tall as she was, etched with archaic symbols. She pulled out the vial that had contained the antidote and inspected it. Satisfied, she placed the vial in the jar, took out her healing ointment, and poured some in. The white liquid vaporized as it entered the pot, and the vial began to slowly refill.

Satisfied, she snatched a notebook from off of a table, closed her eyes, and remembered again.

An alleywank, dank with despair and desperation.

She reappeared.

For the time being, Elya slid into the alleyway with Ji and sat against the wall. The breeze filtered through this place like a wind tunnel: she took off her jacket to let it cool off all the sweat and nervousness. The anticipation of such a fight was never one she could truly push away.

"They aren't inside," Elya replied immediately. "They're watching the streets. Not long before John before gets back, they'll have the Pacis clear the area to reduce the number of witnesses."

"Where do you think they would be?"

Saki Kasliua felt her Mystical power within her as she sat in front of an immobile Elya. She looked in between her and Ji, tilting her head at them as she got up. There was just one thing she didn't quite understand about them.

Why would someone risk everything for just one?

She took off, running off a distance just in case Elya spotted something out of the ordinary before letting go of her power. Everything and everyone around her started as if she took the television off of pause. She felt a slight jerk in her body as she forced herself back into the normal timeline, but didn't feel that pain she'd once felt when she'd first figured out her powers. Practice always made perfect in her eyes.

Saki reached up for her comm. "Yeah, they're definitely planning an ambush of their own. ... Oh yeah, I expected it. ..." She stopped and grinned. "Yeah, I know just the thing that'll work."

John rushed ino the store, grabbed a rifle and ammunition, a gas mask for every member of the group, and some rope. He cought some eyes as he did so but John didn't have time to deal with it.

After that he moved into the cleaning supplies and bought large amounts of bleach and ammonia. Running by Gardening he grabbed Charcoal, fertalizer, matches and stump remover. Finishing in the pharmacy he bought iron supplements , water bottles and vitimins D and C.

With what was left of his cash he bought a comlink for Elya. Fortunetly it was late at night and lines were short.

It took longer than he hoped, but he managed to make it in a hour and a half.

"I made it."

"Hopefully fast enough." John said panting.

He took out a water bottle and handed Ji the vitimins and Iron. "Here, you'll need those."

Turning back to Elya he sighed.

"Let's get set up."

He slept peacefully. Everything John had said went completely over his head.

"The streets around here have hundreds of shadows. They could be anywhere."

"They can't hide their souls," replied Grace, popping into the Enchanted realm.
