Going_North_cal Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Ceph faded through the wall, and walked to his place to get rope, basic medical supplies, and ammunition. He whistled as he walked.

"Do you trust them?" “I dunno,” he said with a sigh. “I’ve known Gramps for a long time; he’s the one that took me in after what the Angel did to me. He seems to trust him. I don’t know about the rest, though…”
Channelknight Fadran Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 “I’m not asking if they’re trustworthy; I’m asking why you brought them here if you’re only arguing with them.”
Mystic Syn she/her Posted March 4, 2022 Author Posted March 4, 2022 “I dunno. Gramps is probably the only trustworthy person you can find when living on the streets, and he hasn’t wronged me ever since I was a child. I trust his judgment,” he responded softly, pinching the bridge of his nose. “I’ve got a lot on my mind right now.”
Channelknight Fadran Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 “Like what?” Her voice turned a little softer.
Mystic Syn she/her Posted March 4, 2022 Author Posted March 4, 2022 “Stuff,” he bristled immediately, then stopped, letting out a calming breath. “Sorry. Just some… things. I dunno how to describe them. But nothing a little sleep can’t help, right?” Ji tried for a smile, but his eyes said something else. It was hidden behind the exhaustion, almost impossible to see. Sadness. Confusion.
Channelknight Fadran Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Elya reached over, taking his shoulder and squeezing it comfortingly. She tried to put on an encouraging smile, but it wasn't the kind of thing she was good at. Neither was he, it seemed. What kind of world were they living in that they couldn't hold a smile? "I'm sure you'll be fine." She managed to say.

Going_North_cal Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Quote So like, not a longsword, more a greatsword? (im speaking in DND terms)
Thaidakar the Ghostblood he/him Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 Jeh'lar walked casually down the street. the great sword at his back jangled as he passed the street vendors and civilians. the streets were crowded today. Jeh'lar turned a corner sharply. He frowned as a crouched man pulled at his cloak, Jeh'lar shook him away. Jeh made his way to the base as fast as he could without seeming suspicious, the Pacis could be there at any moment ready to ambush him, he was a mystic after all. Quote yeah a great sword, just a little bit longer.

Something... really unfamiliar. Almost painful. It was kind of like regret, in the sense that it just wasn't right, and there wasn't anything to make it go away. Maybe concern? Something like that? Worry. That was it. Elya's eyes turned troubled for just a moment, but she worked back into her regular state after that. She squeezed Ji's hand once, then pulled hers away. "You probably should."
Thaidakar the Ghostblood he/him Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 suddenly a notification rang on Jeh's phone. Jeh pulled it out of his pocket and checked it, a bounty had been released.

He scratched the back of his head, turning towards the hammock. “I’ll be back,” he said, turning back to give a weak smile, then continue on his way. Ji walked to the rope, grabbing it as he let out a breath. He hefted, then began pulling himself up. Every single part of his body protested, negotiating with him to let himself drop and sleep on the ground, but he still climbed. The edges of his vision darkened as he huffed, but he finally made it to his hammock. Ji pulled himself into the bed, sinking into the hammock with a sigh. He took his hoodie off, laying it on himself like a makeshift blanket, and made himself comfortable to rest. But sleep eluded him. He watched the sky, placing his head in his hands. Maybe he went too far. Maybe he was just going soft. Maybe he should just leave. It would be better if he were to leave. He was just a useless person. If only he could’ve been more wary about letting people in. If only he could’ve kept those thoughts in mind. If only he was better than who he is now. If only he could be the person the group needed as a leader. Not him. He was nothing. Useless. Everything was a harsh reminder of that. Stop it, he told himself, bringing his hands up to his eyes, clenching them. These are just stupid thoughts. You’re not feeling these. Just your imagination. You need to take charge; be in control of something, for once. For them… for her. Ji laid back, looking at the sky again, an uncharacteristic tear sliding down his cheek. Maybe he did go too far… Maybe… maybe he just wasn’t enough. His eyelids drooped, and Ji let sleep overtake him. Quote Hmmm, should I write dream sequence?

We’re out in the open.” A deep gray filled his mind, subduing what was left of the red. Drops of blue came in, and the littlest pops of pink showed through. Grace blinked, confused. His colors had... changed? That was strange... and wait a minute, was that pink? She'd never seen that color on an object before, nor heard of it in any book she'd read. What sort of magic was that? Something didn't add up here. Huh, she thought, suddenly realizing something. The colors... they're split. Part in the head, part in the chest. The colors in his chest were the same, deep blue and blood red- it was only the colors in the head that had changed. And continued to change further as he talked. What in the world...? she thought. Surely this couldn't be magic... but then, what was it? She glanced around and noticed something. Saaphir, like herself, had no Mystical colors floating in his chest- but he did have the colors in his head. Grace blinked. Did that mean...? She had to know. She closed her eyes and thought of home. A few moments later, she vanished.
2EmLee2 Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 Quote Here's my idea for a character: Spoiler Name: Alissya Gender: Female Age: 17 Nationality: Half Kajtaniak, half unknown Appearance: 5"6'; She has dark maple straight hair that goes to just below her shoulders; Her skin has areas of pine tree bark skin* that accents parts of her where her bones are closer to the skin (Cheeks, shoulders, elbows, etc)- the part of her skin that is not like bark is a medium brown that has a slight tint close to the hue of her hair; She has a thin and agile frame, she usually wears a dark purple-almost-black cloak over a short, simple dress and leggings- usually in dark colors (Dark pinks, greens, purples, blues, and colors like that) that help her blend in with the shadows. * Spoiler Personality: Very quiet. Keeps to herself, but is very compassionate. She loves colors, but can't wear them so she won't stand out. She prefers the forest to the city. She appreciates the simple things and loves children. Mystic? Yes Type of Mystic: Lifegiver; Can only use her powers to heal. Whenever she uses her powers, it appears as a softly glowing aura around the wound colored green with swirls of brown. The most she can heal at once without blacking out is the equivelent to three completely broken bones (As in, broken at a 90 degree angle) Backstory (optional): Her mom- a Kajtaniak native- ran away with a foreigner and had Alissya. Turns out that foreigner wasn't the best guy so Alissya's mom took her to the city to start anew when she was only a few months old. Because they didn't have much, they stayed to the poorer sections of the city. Her mom never talked about her dad. When Alissya was six, her mom died of a sickness and Alissya was left to fend for herself. After that, her Mystic powers started to emerge and she used it to help the other young kids on the streets. She's done that ever since- until one of the young kids she helped heal ratted out the the Pacis that there was a Lifegiver in her part of the city. She's been running around, eluding them as best she could. Misc: She doesn't have any weapons except for a small throwing knife hidden in her boot. She doesn't know how to use it and prefers to hide rather than defend herself with violence. Maybe my character can run into your group and join up- helping heal the people in exchange for protection against the Pacis. What do you think?

Thaidakar the Ghostblood he/him Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 Jeh'lar looked at his phone, but as he pulled up the notification the phone died. Jeh cursed. He heard a shout behind him, he ran as fast as he could down the alley way. a wooden board jutted out of the wall and Jeh tapped it, suddenly ten other wooden planks popped out of the wall like a set of stairs up to the roof of the building. Jeh climbed it as fast as he could. A city guard followed from behind.
Channelknight Fadran Posted March 5, 2022 Posted March 5, 2022 Something occurred to Elya. She glanced over her shoulder, looking around for their 'prisoner.' "Ne'ik?" Mystic Syn she/her Posted March 6, 2022 Author Posted March 6, 2022 Quote I just realized that even though I kinda asked whether or not I should do a dream sequence that this is my rp and I can basically do whatever I want within reason and without breaking any of the Shard's rules, and it might be too late to stop me; not like anyone's active to see this. So... sorry. Probs just gonna do this in parts, cos suspense. Need to get out. Running. Can't stop. Faster. Won't stop. Faster. The hallway spanned forever. The dark gray walls continued for eternity. No doors branched off, nor did it appear to be any at the end... if there was an end to this madness. Maybe this was somewhere he'd been at some point in life, but the memory couldn't appear in his mind as he went faster. He needed to get out of here. He panted, itching to look over his shoulder, but he knew what was back there. It followed him, mirroring his every move, except better. It ran almost as fast as he did, catching up to him in no time. The cold crept in on him, trying to take over. It begged for him to slow down. Take it easy. Give in to it. It wouldn't be too hard. He would be safe. Nothing would happen. He could finally catch a good night's sleep for once. But he pushed himself harder. Need to get away. Something different came up; something that vaguely looked like a door. He swerved to the right, pushing himself into a dark room, then shoving the door behind him close. He held himself against the door. It rattled violently as the force tried to force its way through the wood. He gritted his teeth, forming a solid stance against the door. The force pushed harder against his weight, the wood creaking loudly, wanting to give in. He placed his weight against the door, praying to whoever was listening to prevail. The rattling stopped. The cold left. Ji breathed out a sigh, falling out of his stance and placing his forehead on the door's cool surface. He panted, exhaustion creeping into his bones. At least it gave up. At least he could breathe. A pinprick of light twinkled out of the corner of his eye. Ji ignored it, trying to enjoy the peace for once, till... "I need you to tell me," an all-too familiar voice seethed, "where he is." Without even thinking, Ji quickly picked himself up and ran towards the faint light; where the voice came from. He ran harder, though the exhaustion begged for him to remain still and do nothing. He couldn't let it happen again. Not again. Never again. The light grew closer, colder. With a burst of energy, he ran through the light to... Home. In the Center. The living room. Everything was as he left it, besides... Every member of his family was on the floor, lying in their own blood. His mother and father had reached out to each other, but their hands never touched. A few feet away from them he saw his sisters... all huddled together. Bathed in crimson. Their eyes were empty from the life he remembered them having. They all were just... empty; void of anything that he loved them for. His breaths sped up, becoming shallower by the second. Flashes of that night appeared in his mind. His heart pounded. Ji clutched his head, trying to regain control over himself, till one of his sister's stirred. He looked up and ran over to her, holding her gently as she coughed. Her eyes fluttered open. She looked at him with her dark blue eyes, seeming to be holding onto the thinest thread of life. "Ji," she managed to say. "Higeki," he said, a smile touching his lips for the first time in forever it seemed. "You're––" "Why didn't you save us?" "I..." He blinked. "I did. I'm not a child anymore. I'm a Mystic. I'm strong. I brought you back." "No, you didn't," she whispered, breathing out one last time. "You never could." Higeki slowly fell limp, what little life leaving her already broken body. "Higeki?" Ji said, shaking her gently, frantic. "Higeki? No... no, no, nononononono!!" He hugged her, holding her tight, as if it was going to bring the life back to her. "I'm not... I'm not... I just got you back," he whispered as the tears streamed. Her body grew heavier as he cried in her shoulder. "I'm not..."
DramaQueen she/he/neopronouns Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 Quote AaaaAAAHDFJCJJDJSKXKSKDKDF This is moving way too fast I Gah I really really really cannot keep up. I think being a contact that shows up every so often wouldn't really work either, because then I'd have to have time to do stuff as a contact. All I can do is like an hour at a time.....and besides, that time is time that I should not be on. Aka seminary or church The only time I have WiFi. So.............yeah. Um. Bye for now? Keep dragging Lyanör along with you if you want, I'll try to get on when I can (not church or seminary).
