"Alright, I'm packed. What does everyone else need?"

"The closer we are to the Paci's headquarters, the more intel we can gather. But it's also more dangerous."

Ceph looked at John, "I've got everything I need. I live near downtown, I can stop by and pick up stuff when I need to."

“We just need to gather everyone.”

Ji points a glare at Ceph. “Did you not hear what I said?” he asked. “The closer we are to the Pacis’ headquarters, the safer we’ll be. They never check the Center; really only the outskirts.”

Ceph blows a strand of hair out of his face.

"Yeah, yeah, fine, whatever. Safe, dangerous, whatever. We're fighing a bunch of powerful cops, it's dangerous all around. And they do check the Center, but it's rare. Last time they did, I was there with some... friends. It didn't end well. So we just gotta be careful. That's all I'm sayin'."

“You think I don’t know who we’re fighting? I’ve been fighting them for years––” Ji stopped himself, and let out a breath. “All I’m saying is that it’s the safest option we’ll get, unless you somehow know how to get to Dohad without them noticing. Besides, Elya says that she has a place, and I trust her.”

Ji blinked at the words that just came out of his mouth for a second, then regained his composure.

Ceph huffed and pointedly did not look at Ji.

"Fine. Gramps trusts you, you trust Elya, and I guess I trust her as well. We going, then?"

“As soon as everyone else is ready,” he said, then felt his shoulders slump. “And maybe after I rest, but moving is the first priority.”

"We're not leaving unless everyone is well rested and ready. Rest. That's pretty important."

Grace carefully brought her makeshift double-glasses up to her face. She'd attached the frames with tape, upside down so the tips didn't dig into her ears. She was pleased to find that they sat relatively comfortably on her face- although the extra weight did feel a little strange. Not to mention that the two ends sticking up were bound to attract attention. Well, it was worth it to be able to tell at a glance what Mystic powers people possessed.

Speaking of which... Grace turned her newfound gaze on her new acquaintances, studying their colors in greater depth.

Ji shook his head. “No, we need to move. Pacis could attack. We’re out in the open.”

A deep gray filled his mind, subduing what was left of the red. Drops of blue came in, and the littlest pops of pink showed through.

Saaphir awoke to the sound of conversation, and climbed out of his hammock and slid down the rope. He addressed the new person who had returned with Ji, “Who are you?” He asked, proffering  his hand.

Ceph took Saaphir's hand, and gave it two firm shakes.

"Name's Ceph. Ran into this lot at Gramps' place, gonna help you out. You?"

Elya decided to press a hand to both Ji's and Ceph's chests, pushing them apart. She looked legitimately annoyed.

“What? I’m just––” He looked up at her “––oh.”

"We'll rest here for tonight," Elya said, voice firm. "If they knew where we were, then they would've attacked us already. We were seperated and we're all still recovering. It would've been opportune for them, which means they haven't found us yet."

"Thank you," Ceph said, referring to Elya, "We shoud rest, not immediately jump into the fray." Kids these days...

Elya let out a breath, hoping she'd avoided any further conflict just then.

"So who are you?" She asked Ceph, pulling out her jacket and hanging it up to dry.

"How many times am I going to be asked this, I swear-"

He pinched the bridge of his nose, frustrated.

Why had he agreed to help these kids? It was that damn woman's fault. Damn her!

"My name is Ceph, I know Gramps, and I'm helping."

"Gramps?" Elya blinked.

“Someone I know,” Ji said, rubbing his nose.
