Ji walked back into their hideout place, glancing back every so often to make sure the group was following. He adjusted the pile of first aid kits in his arms, then set them down on the ground in front of him. He gestured to the place.

“This is it, so far,” he said to Ceph. “Probably shouldn’t be out in the open, but yeah.”

"My place is open, if you'd like to use it. It's a bit cluttered, weapons and stuff, but it could work if you'd like."

Ceph wandered around, looking at everything.

“Eh, we’ll figure it out,” he said, picking up the first aid kits and making his way to Elya.

Ji set them down by her feet. “You holding up alright?”

Jeh'lar wiped the perspiration off his sweaty face as he readied to strike the large tree again with his large steel axe.

Jeh'lar struck the tree, it fell down with a big crash! Jeh'lar smiled, he set his axe down and took the chains out of his truck, he began putting the chains around the tree so he could put it into the truck.

"Mostly." Elya kept scrubbing at her jacket. Some of the stains were being really stubborn. "I managed to get down without breaking anything."

“Well, obviously,” Ji said, gesturing to her. “I don’t think you would be cleaning your jacket if you broke something.”

"A pleasure to meet you." John said extending his hand.

Elya shook his hand, nodding. "You too."

"I might, actually," Elya admitted. "I'd just have splinted it first."

Suddenly Jeh'lar's vision swam before him and he fell like a tree onto the ground. a tall dark figure made out of darkness appeared in the mist, their red eyes shone out towards Jeh and he shivered, where was he? what was happening? the tall figure moved forward unnaturally, they were tall, they had dark armor with wicked spikes on it. Jeh tried to run but he was frozen in place, the figure came closer and closer until...

Jeh was lying on the ground in the forest, what had just happened. Jeh tried to remember what his sudden dream had been about, but the only thing he could remember was dark mist. Jeh shrugged, this type of stuff happened often to Jeh, but Jeh had no idea why.

Ji gestured around him. “Splinted it with what?”

“Yeah, alright,” he muttered, rolling his eyes, though the smallest hint of a smile peeked through. Ji folded his arms. “Do you think we should find a different safe place?”

Posted

“Yeah. Probably should leave sooner. This place’s too open,” Ji said, nodding. “Though I do know of one place where I’m pretty sure the Pacis wouldn’t step foot in. But that’s what I thought about the last place.”

"A couple regular safehouses here and there. One isn't too far, but I don't think it could fit the lot of us." Elya glanced to the East. "The one I'm thinking of right now is downtown, which is somewhere I doubt the Pacis will think to look."

His brow furrowed. “The Center… Downtown––whatever you want––is the best option. Closest to their headquarters.” Ji then waved a hand in the air. “I’ve dealt with running from them before, and they always go to the outskirts of Odhak, never near their own base.”

He looked up at Elya, thoughts swirling in his gaze. “The one I’m pretty sure the Pacis won’t look in in or near the Center; besides, almost everyone thinks it’s taboo after what…” Ji lost his composure for a split second, before shaking his head slightly, standing a bit taller. “It’s taboo after what the Angel did to the people that once lived in there. More taboo than the hospital.”

“If it’s the only option and as a last resort.” Ji glanced at her. “Depends on how big your place is.”
