Unless Sandman altered the dream so that it was one of those dreams where you're suddenly not wearing pants, and then made the statue turn into a giant Funtimes who was laughing at him. Writing this, it occurs to me how much more quickly Lightward's mental state would decay if Sandman made a habit of messing with his dreams. Nightmares of Mobius EVERY NIGHT. Whoa, if Sandman confronts an epic with one of their weaknesses in a dream, would they lose their powers? Or would they just think they lost their powers, telling Sandman what their weaknesses were?

Fatebreaker promtly popped up next to the fallen Mistborn. "Now now, that was poor manners. You didn't even offer him a cookie. What a churlish fellow. Xanas happens to a nice guy. A little homicidal on occasion, but then aren't we all? Any way i just came here to let you know that unlicensed hemalurgy is frowned upon around here, and by that i mean we'll feed you to the Riftwhale, where your particles will be digested in another dimension, along with millions of spacefish. Oh and a bit of advice," The Stranger rammed a two foot long spike through the kids shoulder and deep into the ground. "whitespines may be deadly, but they shouldn't go chasing chasmfiends. TTFN!" And with that the stranger dissipated, leaving a faint echo of his laughter.

People you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley
Fatebreaker replied to Voidus's topic in The Alleyverse
yeah, that model really had some kinks in it. Remember that time where it opened the rift into the 1800's? With the octofrogs and Android-Lincoln? It was one of the better batches of cookies, but I'll never look at amphibilopods the same way... -

I know, I'm a sucker for a big sale. It was 30 souls cheaper that the older model. Who'da thunk it'd be inhabited by a demonsquid? -
Reflection sighed. A party bus. Of course, why should today be any different. The man was a part of an elite Epic strike team, run by the most fearsome criminal mastermind in the fractured states, and he had to make modes of transportation that had stripper poles. It was embarrassing. Yes, it made for perfect insult material, but it reflected poorly on them all. Did the man have no sense of professionalism? The Busboy flushed red, then made a new mode of transportation, on that was a little more dignified. He shook his head and boarded the bus. "To Research Outpost Beta?" Bus asked as he held the door. Reflection nodded and took a seat, musing over the day's events thus far. "BusDriver." The girl spoke hesitantly at first, then quickly her tone became demanding. "What did I sign up for? And I'll know if you lie to me." The girl, emboldened by her power, seemed to be intent on immediately working her way up the pecking order as she threatened Busboy. Reflection rolled his eyes. This was why he detested juveniles, no sense. What if Busdriver was the favorite aide to an invincible High Epic, or had a secondary power that could crush the girl. One flash of power and she thought herself invincible. On one hand, he held no love of Busboy, but on the other hand, laxness leads to insubordination. He decided that this was a teaching moment. "Hey you, Sweetcheeks. In this organization we treat our superiors with respect. Busdriver is your superior, and you will address him as such. And If you EVER use that tone with me, you will swiftly discover what capital punishment looks like in 1st person." he turned back to the window and surveyed the city, or what remained of it at least.

People you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley
Fatebreaker replied to Voidus's topic in The Alleyverse
A Denizen has ascended, clones have started rising, and the new oven seems to be eating the left half of random people. Just another week here at the Dark Alley -
a hole opened in the wall and the Stranger poked his head in "To clarify, certain members of the DA would be happy to help. The DA never chooses a side in war, even if it's being waged upon ourselves. Ooh, cake. " The Stranger reached out and grabbed a slice then popped the whole thing in his mouth. HE swallowed it whole and grinned briefly before disappearing along with the hole that had opened.

People you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley
Fatebreaker replied to Voidus's topic in The Alleyverse
Don't listen to that fiend! He's a clone I created in the lab, but I accidentally left the Ethicator on! My acolytes will dispose of him. Leaving the Alley, renouncing cookies AND science. He's a maniac, that clone. Or am I the clone? -
Woah, had the strangest dream yesterday. I'd been replaced by an old man with some disturbingly valid points... Weird...

I'm who I say I am, young Will. I'm familiar with this Broken-Fate character you speak of, and from what I've learned he's kind of a shady character. It seems he loves to come up with ideas and then never write about them. He writes characters that have great potential, like that Quicksilver or Sandman, but writes only one or two posts for them. Not only that, but it seems like he's caught up in some sort of back-Alley Hemalurgy Cult. Kind of a vagabond and a scoundrel if you ask me.

Hello everyone, Old Man Magoo here I would like to join these role-playing games you all seem to enjoy so much. I have an idea for an character who has super strength and super healing. And he can fly. has a rocket launcher as his main weapon and a battle axe for close quarters. I call him Cohen the Barbarian. As a foot note, I haven't read the Steelheart books, is that a problem?

People you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley
Fatebreaker replied to Voidus's topic in The Alleyverse
I have a formal Announcement to make: As of Today, I am leaving the Dark Alley. I have seen the Error of my fruitless pursuit of the Perfection of Science, and have realized that the souls of people are far more valuable than collecting data. And so farewell Alleyways and Corridors of Darkness, a reformed man leave you today to walk among lighter paths. Today I stop following Ruin, today I follow Preservation. The Breaker of Fate is no more. -

I hate to break it to ya, but Ruin is dead. Harmony is another matter, but I don't think we need to worry about him as much. -
You think that's bad, here in Los Angeles we've got some of the most polluted beaches around. I don't surf at any of them, but it still bums me out that they're just a drive away.

To be fair, the Ocean has A TON of stuff to be afraid of, especially around your continent. Box jellies, rays, sharks, you even have a venomous octopus, which makes me a little bit jealous as an amateur marine biologist. I too have been to northern beaches, and I can agree that they're nuts. One we went to was covered in fallen trees that had washed ashore! Some of them were gargantuan! It was like a forest graveyard, which was pretty cool.

That's right, now I remember. Thanks Edge. Y'all should just move to California. We have what ever kind of weather you need. Want boiling hot? We've got Death Valley, one of the hottest places in the world. Want freezing cold? Head up to the Sierra Nevada Mountains, we've got snow for ya. Want Damp wet colder weather? Norther California is the place for you. Want warm but not hot weather that's perfect for hiking or the beach or just sitting inside? Come to Southern California, it's wonderful. We've got almost any terrain you could want, from forrests to deserts, scrublands to mountains, chaparral to river valleys. And we have the best surfing on the mainland. Which is what I was doing all day today. It was so good, the waves were over 6 feet! Does anyone else surf or otherwise enjoy the beach?

The changes sound good to me. We've got a bazillion teleporter epics, a mere two with sleep abilities is hardly an issue. They could team up and form the Ultimate Dream-Team! (ba-dum-tiissssssssshhhhhhh) I'll see myself out...

Thats an awesome powerset, but Sandman has pretty much an identical powerset of inducing sleep and controlling dreams. I haven't had a chance to use it yet, since I was waiting for the MEE attack on The MoNA. Hey, does anyone remember if we specified who had made the island for the Lost Ones? I checked the old question thread, but I can't find anything. It's not super important, but I'm writing a Lost One post and the though occurred to me. Also, I'd totally live in Adventurer-land. Fade-land would only exist sometimes, and Sandman-land would pretty much just be inception. The-Mad-Ballooner-land would be filled with balloons and outdated stereotypes.

FINALLY got a Dalles post up. Hopefully I'll get the first post of the Lost Ones up soon. Also, Reader getting slapped was priceless. Edit: Did we ever say which epic had created the Island of the Lost for Pan and the Gang?

Reflection watched as the girl concentrated, then started dissolving into mist Her face seemed puzzled, then she completely transformed. They waited a minutes as the cloud of moisture hung there for a moment, lifeless. Then the girl suddenly reformed, looking dazed but determined. Reflection was unimpressed. She didn't seem to have much control of her abilities, and they weren't that impressive either. Mildly useful, but not much potential. Then she blew up the bus. Reflection instinctively created his mirrors around himself as shrapnel shot from the explosion. His reflective coating protected him, but not so Busdriver, who was nicked by a piece of metal that grazed his arm. it was nothing serious, barely even a flesh-wound, but the man loved to complain. This would probably get him hours worth of grousing material. Reflection ignored him and turned his attention back to the girl. This was something Quicksilver could work with. He'd be interested in in both the offensive and stealth capabilities. She was displaying that awful juvenile arrogance, but that could be dealt with. Preferably with harsh discipline. He surveyed the damage as he addressed the girl "Distinct lack of control, rather loud and conspicuous. Your ability could easily bring an entire squad of guards down on your head. You are a potential weakness that could be exploited." He turned and started to walk towards the exit of the alley. "But you are also a potential tool. One that could prove useful to the Boss. But you'd best watch that attitude of yours, or you're likely to get some, let's say negative feedback." She opened her mouth to say something, but he ignored her and reached up to his ear, activating the com Surveillance had given him. "Action report. What's happening out there with the travelling circus?" He listened as Surveillance brought him up to speed, then turned back to the others, barking commands. "Then mutant army seems to be retreating, but keep a lookout for stragglers. Bus-boy, get us a ride. Something low profile, not another of those party buses you seem so fond of. Well head to a research outpost where we can analyze her abilities in a slightly more scientific way than the mythbusters. Let move" Now came the most dangerous part: Talking to the Boss.

Woah, there are quite a few martial artists among us. I did Tang Soo Do years ago and nearly made blackbelt. However, I was such a small kid that it was worthless. Anyone who wanted to beat me just had to fall on me. I had to rely on my wild black curls to make me seem bigger than I was. I grown now, but I still use my hair to give me a few extra inches of height. While I haven't done martial arts since elementary school, I do enjoy me some fencing. I'm part of the fencing club at my college, my specialty being saber. Comes from a lifelong love and practice of swashbuckling, and watching too much Zorro. I also do some bo staff and bullwhip on the side. However my dealiest weapon is my razor sharp wit. And my Chinese Tiger swords. I know some Denizens who'd be happy to supply baked goods
