I'm not a shipper, but it occurred to me that if someone hid the Aldo/Wes ship, it'd be 'Where's Waldo?'. Congrats everyone on the 6th Question page. Though I'm pretty sure if we were to remove all the MLP memes and shipping shtuph, we'd probably only have one or two Question pages. But then you'd have removed part of the essence of WHiO.

“Anyway, let´s try this again with proper manners please. One would think someone your age could have picked those up by now or maybe you lost them because you´re getting to old?” Fade snorted derisively, "Manners are for civilized company, and you are the antithesis of the very idea of civilization." His homicidal tendencies increased with every word spoke between him and the monster. "But I'm not here to banter with you. I'm looking into something for those two wack-jobs who run this place, and I need to ask your toy some questions about pre-Calamity Portland. I'd offer reassurances that no harm would come to her, but we both know you wouldn't care it it did, as long as she was still alive to provide amusement. So let's avoid your usual pettiness and get this over with. I don't want to spend time with her anymore then she wants to spend time with me, but it'd still be preferable to your company. play with your new pet for a few minutes and I'll return this one before your heart is swallowed in sorrow and loneliness." Sparks, he wanted to kill this creature. But it would be impractical to try it now. He needed to gather more information, to make sure the extermination went as smoothly as possible. Then he would do the world a favor and take action. And then Nighthound would Die.

True, but Sandman is the one area where Fade is slightly unreasonable. There's also other backstory reasons I haven't yet specified. I was planning on revealing this sometime in WHiP, but if you must satisfy your curiosity then take a look. Plus practically everyone else has good epics, so an epic who merely has self control shouldn't be too crazy. You're right. hadn't thought of that. Well, this should be an interesting introduction.

Fade's relationship with Sandman is multi-leveled. There's the paternal instinct primarily, but there's also a utilitarian aspect to it. Sandman is an epic, which makes him a useful tool. And I wouldn't say Fade uses his powers liberally. And yeah, I'm not gonna pull the "His love is stronger!" bit. I'm a better writer than that.

The first time Brandon Sanderson opened a twitter account, he was banned because his tweets were actually entire novels, which ignored the standard character limit. Brandon Sanderson has deleted more stories than any author has ever written, because they didn't meet his standards In his spare time, Brandon rewrites the encyclopedia, giving it a better plot and more character development. I hadn't pegged Brandon for a cannibal...

I know the answers to the universe. Ask me a question. Um, what would you like for lunch? Ah, one of the hard ones. Oh, I meant to write "the one that hates you", not vice versa. Good catch, I'll edit that. Fade has been an Epic for about a medium amount of time. While he was by no means one of the earlier Epics, he's had time to learn how to use his powers effectively. However, even when using his powers, he maintains a surprisingly high level of self control, for two reasons. One, as mentioned in his backstory, he had previously left a life of crime as a , so he was struggling with violent impulses long before Calamity, and two he has someone he loves to help him focus. Much like (Firefight spoilers)

Ey! I read that one! So good. And Fade's goal is to ask Ray some questions about her master, though since I'm sure Nighthound's going to be a bit possessive I expected some dialogue. Also note that if Fade displays the same air of gruffness and hostility to everyone because everyone irritates him, but he kills the ones that REALLY bug him.

Fade heard the beast returning before he even set foot in the museum. He could smell his stench of blood and lust. It reeked. He turned to his grandson who was trying to teach his new prehistoric pet to call him master, "Maximillian, go and play with your t-rex on on the second floor." "It's not a T-rex Gramps! it's a..." "Now." The steel in Fade's voice was tangible. He was not int the mood for a paleontology lesson. Sandman scurried off, trying to remain as silent as possible. Having an undead dinosaur following him wasn't helping. Fade turned to see three people walk into the museum. He studied the newcomer, analyzing her asshe walked. Her reach, length of stride, the way she carried herself, the way she looked adoringly at her captor. Nighthound had picked up another pet it seemed. Fade's fingers itched strongly, his instincts pulling his hands towards the guns in his holsters. End them. End them all. End them now. END THEM NOW. But Fade resisted. Not out of pity, but because fighting them now wouldn't be prudent. Fade he need more information about his target. Then he would dictate the time and the place where he would put down this abomination. However, looking at his creature as he sauntered across the floor with his living playthings in tow, he made a note to move that date up considerably. he could sense the maniac violence just beneath the surface. This man wasn't a loose cannon, he was a loose warhead. And that was not the kind of person he wanted around his grandson. An idea suddenly occurred to him. He intercepted the three figures as they crossed the room. "You, Nighthound." He called out in his deep, gravelly voice, "I need to use your pet for a few moments." He paused, the added, "The one that hates you."

Fade and Sandman would both react VERY badly. Sandman might either try to escape or put Quota in one of his Dreams. Fade with end him with extreme prejudice. He'd probably Fade a part Quota's windpipe and watch him suffocate, while breaking his fingers and toes. The Mad Ballooner would probably bawl like a baby as he remembered that time his model hot air balloon fell off of his dresser and got a scratch.

Brandon Sanderson wasn't born, he wrote himself into existence. The sun rises each morning because Brandon Sanderson wrote it so. It it said if Brandon Sanderson were to right a bad novel, everyone who read it would die. However, this is Brandon we're talking about, so we don't ever have to worry.

For the record, I vote we hold off on Astoria till Portland is destroyed, as originally planned. Some of us have enough trouble keeping up as it is. Which means we should hurry up and destroy Portland. So let's get that meeting moving so the MEE attacks can commence. Or we can just take our time. I'm in no rush.

I will never be able to unsee this... Happy Birthday Edge and Twi. Congratulations on another robot-wasp-attack-free year! Wow, all of the sudden people are dropping names. I could tell you my name, or I could leave a long list of names with the possibility of my name being one of them. Let's go with the second. my name could be any one of these. Or it might not even be on there Axel Ben Clyde Drake Edmund Finnegan Gunnar Harrison Isaac Jaime Kingston Louie Maximilian Nikolai Oliver Peter Quentin Ricardo Scott Tom Ulysses Victor Wade Xavier Yerik Zachariah Give it a try. Which do you think fits? Also, could I get in on the Firefight PM?

Ignore the naysayer, distrustful people are everywhere. I recommend reading the Emperor's Soul next.

Woah. I stayed up to 1:30 last night reading. That was the Best 3 hours I've had in a long time. It was far too short. Calamity should be Stromlight Archive length. Maybe then it'd last an entire day. What's awesome is that I don't think any of my epics need serious editing. What's funny is that I got Firefight for my cousin as a gift, but I read it first then gave it to him. He's done the same to me. It's a beautiful relationship.

Fear not! I can help. Let me sell you a simple solution: Your very own Parallel Universe! Carefully handcrafted with loving care in a local Alley. All the details and appearances of the original, but completely separate and malleable! Want a WWII era earth where Poland was a world power and Hitler was a midget? No sweat! Want Daleks who don't look like the nightmares of a plummer's child? Can do! Want an Oregon where Epics can be generous and considerate? No problem! Want a Portland where Nighthound isn't creepsause? Not possible. Sorry, technology has it's limits. Also, Finally got ahold of Firefight! Already a quarter through. So Good.

Dangit, this is driving me crazy. All I need is 40 minutes to drive down the mountain to the bookstore, but my car currently lacks a few things required to make that trip, like wheels, a subframe, and a transmission. It will take me only an hour to finish the book, maybe two, I just need to get my hands on it. Fortunately, you can read the first 3 chapters on the barnes and noble for free.

Augh, I just want to write a post in both Dalles and Portland, but life keeps getting in the way. I've got to replace the clutch on my car, unemployment blows like a Highstorm, and college is expensive(where's a glass of spheres when you need one?). And to make matters worse, even though I live in California, I won't be able to attend either of Brandon's signings. Curses. Anyway, sorry about the infrequency of my posts. I do my best to keep up with the question thread, but you guys don't make it easy, which is awesome because that means I always have something to read. I showed a friend WHiP and he was astonished at the length of the posts and the quality of the writing. So hurrah for you guys! And just to reassure y'all, I am still planning on having Fade end Nighthound. If I can make it work, and get your approval Edge, it may even be a glorious Curb-stomp. Because when Fade commits to something, he commits. But I'll need the MEE attacks to finish first. They'll give Kobold, when do we finally get to see Vondra? I've been eagerly awaiting his debut. And does anyone else picture him with a cigar? Or have I just seen too many action movies? And for the record, I got the Julian Smith reference and I'm not Mormon, so there goes that theory. I did introduce his videos to a Mormon friend of mine though.

Hmm, ya kinda put the chull before the cart there. Alloy of Law is the direct sequel to the Mistborn Trilogy, so reading it first is odd, but I understand your compulsion to immediately read anything Sanderson. Plus, Wayne is one of the greatest characters ever. Ignore what others say of the cookie. They're bitter and mistrusting and don't appreciate food like we do. However, if the cookie doesn't strike your fancy, have some complimentary chouta.

People you wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley
Fatebreaker replied to Voidus's topic in The Alleyverse
Joining The Alley requires sales in the intro thread and contributions to our particular branch of science. Keep in mind this isn't simply a place to role-play, it's a place to Research. That's all that would be required. Hypothetically of course.
