  1. Brightlord Wannan is immortal. However, he is thoroughly, utterly, and and irrationally convinced that he is mortal. Why? Because he died once, so he knows it can happen again. Wannan is also a devoted follower of the Diagram, and will happily expound on it to anyone around, whether or not they are interested. What's that you say? Wasn't Wannan dark-eyed in the last game? To that, I say: Was he? Or did he just want to APPEAR to be dark-eyed? Question for the GM: What happens if the (uncorrupted) Antifabrian targets a player who isn't corrupted?
  2. I like it Seonid! It sounds like it will be a blast to play. A couple suggestions/musings, do with them what you will. re: the Metallurgist Here's an idea- make the Metallurgist(s) faction-neutral, so not a part of either House Conrad or House Venture, but on a faction all on their own, with the win-condition of simply surviving to the end of the game (EDIT: also, neither faction needs to eliminate the Metallurgist(s) as part of their own win condition). That way, yes, they'll get lots of information about other players, but will not automatically feel obligated to reveal any of that information to anyone. I think it would make for an awesome and fun dynamic (as well as thematically accurate), with the metallurgist(s) needing to find the right balance of keeping everyone happy so that nobody kills them out of spite. I can see lots of bribes and/or threats playing out as players on both sides try to get information out of the metallurgists re: Lurcher I agree about the lurcher's power needing to be changed. However, if you make it a roleblock, then you're overlapping with the Captain. How about this instead- Let the lurcher target one player each night and steal a random metal vial from that player. So many devious and fun possibilities! EDIT: spelling
  3. Awesome. I'm so excited for this. And the fact that there will be expansions. Siege of luthadel anyone? How about pitting your House against Hordes of Koloss as the world dies all around you? Seriously, Q4 2016 cannot come soon enough! EDIT: On another note, it looks like (at least for the prototype) they used some of the artwork that Ben McSweeney did for the Mistborn Adventure Game. I spy Zane on what must be the house Venture card, and the other Houses have artwork as well...
  4. Ah yes, they do, I forgot to mention that. Thanks. Edited in now. Yep, PAFO. I will say this though- it's not impossible to defeat the Godking, but it is going to take some good equipment and a lot of luck.
  5. Okay, here are my Infinity Blade rules. I'm really excited to run this, as I think it will be a lot of fun for everyone. The game isn't quite like most other SE games- there is no eliminator-kill, PMs, the lynch vote isn't necessarily a lynch, and there are different levels of win-conditions, but there are still two factions vying against each other, so it's similar in that regard at least. This game will not contain any spoilers for the Infinity Blade video-games or Brandon's novellas. Experience with the video-games/books is not necessary, but it will be helpful to get you in the right frame of mind for this game (and besides, they're really good. I recommend at least playing through the first game once, just to experience it). Also, this is still just a rough draft. Among other things, I need to go through and change the names of a few things, give the items game-related names, etc. But read them over and let me know what you think, especially if you have played any of the video games and/or read the books. 6. Those fellows over at Crafty Games must be lurchers, because I keep feeling all the money in my wallet being strangely drawn towards them. Seriously though, I can't wait for this.
  7. Dear Moderators, can I be added to the Quickfix GM list please? I have an Infinity Blade themed game I'm working on that I think will be a lot of fun to run. I will post the rules in this thread once I get a workable version of them done. Thanks. EDIT: And for anyone interested, no I have not forgotten about v2 of my Elantris rules. I will get them posted soon(ish), too. Edit2 testing
  8. So, Gencon started today... anybody have any word on this or Crafty's Booth in general?
  9. Wannan looked down at the black chasm below him. The crem-coated rock made it too difficult to dig a grave, so they had lowered Smeagol's body into this chasm. Wannan was all alone out on the plains, as everyone else had already taken shelter from the highstorm. He could see it looming in the distance. It would be upon him in just minutes. "Thanks for lending me some of your powers," he said to the chasm. "I am already immortal, so I don't really need them, but they will it so much easier to fulfill the goals and purposes of the diagram. It's a shame these fools had to go and string you up. I wanted to keep you around a while, make use of that gift of yours. There was no need for you to be one of the first to die. Ah well, such is life." Wannan turned from the grave chasm and made his way back to edge of camp. The wind whipped at his hair and clothes, threatening to knock him over, but he ignored it. A few minutes later he reached his destination. Much of the camps provision was stored here in a large pile. Crates and barrels had been stacked atop each other and then strapped down, placed behind a large wooden windbreak. Wannan knelt down and used a knife to cut the ropes holding the provisions down. The storm would do the rest of the work. Job done, he stood and faced the storm. The massive wall of roiling black and flickering lightning was only one plateau away, roaring its way towards him at a terrifying speed. Wannan smiled and calmly walked forward to meet it. After all, it couldn't hurt him. Nothing could.
  10. Re: Leftinspace/Smeagol/Leif: Several people have said they see an eliminator trying to act like a villager in his posts, but I'm not seeing it. Or at least, I'm not convinced. Not enough to lynch him. I'm going to keep my vote on Paranoid King. Yeah, he's been inactive for the past four days (which coincidentally, lines up with when Bort's PM would have been started. Not hard for PK to see the email, figure out that Bort's a TW or LW, tell his diagramist buddies to kill him, then "go inactive" for a while until everything blows over), but in my opinion that's all the more reason to lynch him. Why lynch a potential diagramist who is posting and contributing and who (if he is a diagramist) is giving us posts to analyze and eventually see through when instead we can lynch a potential diagramist who isn't posting or contributing anything? And if PK isn't a diagramist, what have we lost? A villager who isn't contributing anything anyway. Also, to look at things from another angle, ask yourself this: who is more likely to be a villager Radiant- the player who is actively posting and discussing or the one who has been inactive for several days? The diagramists certainly have no problem attacking active players, I fail to see why we should be helping them in that endeavor. I realize not everyone agrees with my point of view (lynching inactives), but I thought I'd go ahead and preemptively explain why I'm not changing my vote.
  11. Hmm... While it is possible that the Eliminators got lucky when they targeted Bort, it does raise suspicions of the people he was in contact with. Leftinspace, Paranoid King, Renegade, and Twelfth now at the top of my suspect list. It does seem odd that if one (or more) of them was an eliminator that they would kill Bort off right away. A Truthwatcher wouldn't be that threatening to them, especially if they can blast through his progressions with gravitation, and killing him this early would just raise our suspicions on one (or more) of their members. It seems like a rookie move on the eliminators part. That, or none of Bort's contacts were eliminators and the real eliminators just got lucky. Bort was certainly speaking out enough in the thread to attract their ire. Nevertheless, it's still the best lead we've got. Since Twelfth and Leftinspace have already spoken up, and Renegade is already being called out, I'm going to put some pressure on Paranoid King.
  12. "You said it, Smeagol," Wannan said somberly, striding to stand next to the hunched over creature. "Poor bloke. Should have chosen to be immortal, like me. Then they wouldn't have been able to do this to him." But seriously, losing a truthwatcher this early sucks. The ability to protect people from being killed combined with the ability to create PMs for coordination was one of our most valuable combinations. And what makes it worse is that Aonar didn't even honor his request of using "There’s Just Nothing Better Than A Beard" by The Beards for Bort's death song. :,( Edit: never mind, I'm just dumb. Note to self. Don't comment on the songs before following the links. Also, posting when it's 12:30 at night and you're sleep deprived is a bad idea in general.
  13. I agree. I mean, what are the eliminators thinking? Twice now we've had two tie vote with very few people voting. It wouldn't be hard at all for them to have nudged things and gotten somebody lynched. Yeah it might have earned them a little suspicion, but surely they could stir up enough controversy to ensure a lynch without coming under fire themselves, right? Eliminators have had plenty of success doing that in past games. Anyway, after the past two cycles I'm inclined to think that the eliminators are either lurking or feigning inactivity, trying to do as little as possible so that they don't draw attention to themselves. Renegade, can you post the list of people who did NOT post dying day 2? You said you counted sink would love to see that list (and I'm too lazy to want to duplicate your work).
  14. Sorry, I should have been more clear. I meant hold off on using your gravitation charges until we can make sure they count. Gravitation is paired with adhesion (role block) and division (kill) for windrunners and skybreakers, respectively. If we have a Windrunner, gravitation-boosting a role block isn't especially helpful. A gravitation-boosted kill COULD be helpful in the right circumstance, like when we find an eliminator and suspect they might be protected. However, gravitation is probably going to be most useful for us when we can pair it with things like abrasion and progression, protecting our key players. However, all of those situations necessitate waiting until safe networks can be established and actions can be coordinated. As for voting, I feel like I should've voting for someone, but I just haven't had time to analyze any posts and I literally have no suspicions at this point. If I come up with anything I'll be sure to make it known before the end of the cycle.
  15. Well that is interesting, and a little unnerving. In my analysis of the roles that is still forthcoming (sorry! Life happened) I was going to say I'm inclined to think that the Eliminators don't have gravitation, as that would give them a LOT of power. Obviously I was wrong. Some conclusions and questions drawn from this new information: With Gravitation, that means that the eliminators can perform 2 kills out of every 3 days and there is nothing we can do to stop it, unless we counter with some gravitation-enhanced actions of our own. Aonar: What happens if two gravitation enhanced powers conflict with each other? Ie: in the writeup, what would have happened if the player trying to use progression on Meta had received a gravitation boost? Furthermore, if their Windrunner (I'm assuming they don't have a Skybreaker, because that would be very broken) makes a squire who also gets gravitation, that would mean they can make an unblockable kill every cycle. To any of our Radiants who have gravitation- hang on to those charges. We're going to need them. Aonar has said that you can "store" up to 4 charges of stormlight, and once we get a radiant with transformation revealed, we're going to need gravity-boosted progressions to protect them. Some questions raised by the writeup: did the eliminators know that meta would be protected last night, and that's why they gravity-boosted their attack? Or did they just guess that he would be protected? Or maybe they really just that scared of Meta that they were willing to spend a charge of stormlight just to make sure he went down? Another thought occurs to me after typing all this. I suppose it's possible that the eliminators do t have a Windrunner, but just received a gravity boost at random. I seriously hope that isn't the case. If someone out there DID do a random gravity boost on another player, your target player is almost certainly the eliminator who performed the kill. To everyone with powers, I recommend not using them randomly (except for transformation, of course). Again, you can save up to 4 charges, so you have until night 6 before you HAVE to use some charges or lose them.
  16. There's another HUGE flaw with that plan. If all of the refugees came forward it would tell the eliminators EXACTLY who all of the radiants are, allowing them to pick off all of our most valuable players. Not to mention that I'm guessing we have one, maybe two (if we're lucky) radiants with transformation. That's only 4 scans every 3 cycles, at best. Maybe if we get REALLY lucky and get two squires with transformation as well, then we could get get in 2 scans per cycle. At that rate it would still take us about 8-10 cycles to clear all the refugees, by which point the eliminators would probably have killed all our radiants anyway. And that's the best case scenario. More likely we're only going to be able to average 1 scan per cycle. Edit: got my powers mixed up. That's what I get for not checking the list that I made.
