It's probably just a coincidence that Szeth happened to arrive on a good day for Mr. T. You're right, that interlude suggested his daily intelligence was unpredictable so there is no way he could have planned ahead for Szeth to attack him when convenient. At least, based on what knowledge we have at this point. Taravangian could have just rehearsed the encounter beforehand. You don't have to be particularly intelligent to go through a line of dialogue you already have memorized. He likely wouldn't have been quite as eloquent and convincing but as long as he already had the encounter planned out when intelligent, it shouldn't have been too difficult for his more dim version to pull off. He also might have an adjunct around on bad days to do the talking if Szeth happened to show up.

Glyphs for Profiles
Awesomeness Summoned replied to Awesomeness Summoned's topic in Creator's Corner
Unfortunately, the only reference I could find in the book was Eland saying it was the wrong color when comparing it to Atium but he doesn't actually describe it. -
I found there to a be a general lack of quality Knights Radiant glyphs to use for profile icons so I decided to make some myself. This is the first set, representing the Knights Radiant glyphs as pictured on the Surgebinder's chart. I will probably be making sets for various other Sanderson works eventually so the forum is evenly represented. The icons are free to use by anyone. You can download the individual icons HERE.

Behold! the allomancy set has arrived. Now you metal junkies can represent too. The links for each are located below the chart. __________________________________________________________________________ || Iron - Steel || Tin - Pewter || Zinc - Brass || __________________________________________________________________________ || Copper - Bronze || Atium - Malatium || Gold - Electrum || __________________________________________________________________________ || Chromium - Nicrosil || Aluminum - Duraluminum || Cadmium - Bendalloy || __________________________________________________________________________ || Lerasium || || || __________________________________________________________________________ I had to guess on what a few might look like but overall they turned out well. As always, I'm open to suggestions to improve them. -

Or he could just have a more powerful form of an ability, if spiked with an already inherent power. He could soothe two people instead of one for instance. Not a happy thought if we all vote no kill.- 1232 replies

Will Szeth survive Words of Radiance
Awesomeness Summoned replied to eveorjoy's topic in Stormlight Archive
Personally, I wouldn't mind if Szeth didn't survive the confrontation with Kaladin. He's an interesting character and has some room for development but of all the viewpoint characters so far, his death would bother me the least. There aren't very many hints so far that he has a critical role to play in the desolation. His biggest story arc is finding out why he is truthless and why he can surgebind. As you said, he doesn't need to be alive for that information to be revealed. I see only two situations where he faces kaladin and lives. 1. He is knocked unconscious and incapacitated. 2. Something in his interaction with kaladin/dalinar makes him realize that whatever actions or beliefs he had that got him named truthless were actually correct. If he decided he didn't deserve to be truthless then he has no reason to kill dalinar -
Long Game 2: The Devil's Den
Awesomeness Summoned replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Wes almost walked right into the person who entered the bar ahead of him. He was about to give the man a tongue lashing for stopping suddenly but then he saw what the man, along with everyone else in the room, was staring at. The anger quickly melted away to dread. The body in itself was disturbing, but what worried Wes the most was how many of the faces he barely knew. He had known Modeft well and worked with a few others on occasion but many of the others in the room were largely unknown. Who can I trust in this group? How am I supposed to know who is acting out of character? At the moment, he just didn't have enough information to condemn a fellow soul. He would wait. He would watch. Swimmingly is a little suspicious with his willy nilly vote changing and fnord does seem a little blood thirsty but I agree for the moment there is not enough information to risk killing off a misting and giving the inquisitor a body to use for turning. We have no ideas what his powers are so there is no reason to think the chances of him having a vote swinging ability is high. I vote kill no one for now Edit: grammatical error, nothing that affected the content of the post- 1232 replies

Long Game 2: The Devil's Den
Awesomeness Summoned replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
"Hm... interesting," Wes whispered, peering down at the boorish fellow as he poked the bag. It's size and shape suggested something other than money contained within but he certainly hadn't expected a clanking sound to accompany each poke of the cane. "Lord Ruler! just open the thing already!" The man had already knocked a random stranger unconscious. It's doubtful he'd have any qualms about riffling through his stuff so why was he just playing with it? Wes was so anxious he couldn't believe he hadn't fallen off... His grip slipped, nearly sending him careening straight down on top of Mr. Pokes but he managed to latch back onto the rafter with his fingertips at the last second. As he stilled his racing heart, Wes took a quick look around the room to make sure no one had noticed him flailing about above them just seconds ago. No eyes gazed in his direction at the moment. Too many other distractions and nobody ever seems to look up. "Perhaps it's time I relocated to a less precarious seat." Whatever the crew had been assembled for was bound to start soon and Wes didn't fancy sitting through the meeting listening from above. He carefully made his way back towards the small window that had facilitated his entrance hours earlier.- 1232 replies

Glyphs for Profiles

Each Herald (or order of the KR if you like) is associated with a specific gemstone. I don't think each surge does though Edit: oh, I see why you asked. Didn't notice that your post said surges on the gemstones instead of the Orders. -

I'm not offended windy Not trying to strong arm people into using the glyphs. Just a fun side project and my way of giving back to the community if someone doesn't want to take the time to make their own. -
Long Game 2: The Devil's Den
Awesomeness Summoned replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Wes reclined uncomfortably along a rafter overlooking the crowded bar. He wasn't particularly fond of high places but he learned long ago that temptation almost always got the better of him eventually. The tight quarters below offered far too many opportunities for a skilled cutpurse. Wes so dearly wanted to see what was in the bag that cloaked fellow kept fidgeting with and the highborn lady who recently walked in was bound to have something shiny tucked away. Alas, many of the patrons were likely here to join the same crew he was. It's never a good idea to steal from fellow thieves. Wes had removed the temptations by putting the rest of the bar beyond reach but his twitchy fingers were getting worse the longer he waited.- 1232 replies

Glyphs for Profiles
Awesomeness Summoned replied to Awesomeness Summoned's topic in Creator's Corner
So people have options and its easier to identify individuals in the forum by their icons, I made some additional glyph icons. I wasted far more of my day playing around with these than I intended but, hey, wasting time is what Sundays are for. The first set are the glyphs from the hypothesized Voidbinder chart. We don't know much about them yet, but Swimmingly requested them so here they are. Glyph One Glyph Two Glyph Three Glyph Four Glyph Five Glyph Six Glyph Seven Glyph Eight Glyph Nine Glyph Ten __________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________ And these two sets are what I'm calling the glyph "swag" series. Windrunner Skybreaker Dustbringer Edgedancer Palah's Glyph Lightweaver Eslecaller Kalak's Glyph Stoneward Ishar's Glyph __________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________ Windrunner Skybreaker Dustbringer Edgedancer Palah's Glyph Lightweaver Eslecaller Kalak's Glyph Stoneward Ishar's Glyph I know there are more glyphs across the cosmere than just Stormlight so I'll probably move into some of the other worlds (probably mistborn) next. That's a project for another day though. As always, feel free to give critiques or make requests for future designs. -

List: Ages of Stormlight Characters
Awesomeness Summoned replied to Aether's topic in Stormlight Archive
age 10-11 is one year, age 11-12 is the second year, and age 12-13 is the third year. So if she has been 10 for three full years, she would be 13 Edit: if she were only a fraction into that third year being ten, she would still be 12 (that statement in itself might be a little confusing but hope it makes sense).- 95 replies

Glyphs for Profiles
Awesomeness Summoned replied to Awesomeness Summoned's topic in Creator's Corner
Are you referring to the glyphs on this? If so... yeah I could do that at some point. It will take a bit of time though since I'd have to pull the glyph patterns off the chart directly. The coppermind had each of the symbol patterns for the KR orders already so those were easy to put together. Edit: I've spent a bit of my free time working on some other designs i'll post here in a little while so probably won't get to the voidbinding glyphs for a while. -

As Chaos suggested, I lightened the tint for all the glyphs so the symbol is more obvious. The links above work for the brighter glyphs. -
