  1. It's not an actual picture. It's an imprint on the hard cover underneath the dust jacket. Adimortis' post on page three of the thread has a picture of the cover with the dust jacket removed where you can just slightly see the engraving they are talking about.
  2. I will face my fear I will permit it to pass over me and through me I will turn the inner eye to see its path I alone will remain - The ideals of the Bene Gesserit Order; often confused as skybreakers due to their use of division and pressure in politics.
  3. Much of the recent argument in favor of it being an honorblade comes from the Eshonai interlude As to the sword disappearing, yes that could be evidence against but we also don't know if honorblades react differently when being wielded by a regular person if their herald is still alive.
  4. Eddy was also on my suspicious activity list so I'll be backing the mistborn's vote. Apologies to my fellow edgedancer if you are innocent
  5. Only thing I can think of is that it gives us a little idea that the Roshar solar system likely does not have as many gas giants further out in the system like ours does. Large gas giant planets tend to sweep up most of the asteroids which is why Jupiter and Saturn have dozens of moons each while Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars only have three moons total between the four of them. With Roshar being a small planet, its not likely there are many gas giants if it was able to acquire three moons.
  6. The same physics do not apply to the sun-planet relationship because planets are usually in asynchronous orbits which changes how the tidal effects work and allow the moon to remain in a stable orbit. Most moons follow a synchronous orbit, though, so tidal forces from the planet tend to have a degenerating effect on any objects that orbit the moon.
  7. There's also the fact that a planet's satellites can't have stable satellites themselves. Tidal forces from the host planet would cause any moon's satellites to deteriorate over time and eventually crash into the moon. The fact that Roshar has multiple stable moons means it can't be a moon itself.
  8. I think it depends a lot on exactly when Tanavast created his memory journal and was killed. If it was after the recreance than he knows about the KR quitting and disbanding. From my understanding of some of the things he says, I believe that to be the case. He isn't speaking of fixing discord among the orders, he's talking about uniting them in the sense that they need to be brought back together and reformed into a functional organization.
  9. It's also interesting that they are eating/clawing Ishar and Palah's glyphs.
  10. Of course, it's not definite and he could be talking about anything since he uses pronouns for a lot of the statements. So, any interpretation is valid at this point but highly unlikely. I'm in no way trying to say my way is the only interpretation. I was unsure myself after reading your post and actually went back to read the full section of the excerpt. These were just thoughts that came up while reading it.
  11. Wes scurried down the street glancing back over his shoulder to make sure the man wasn't following him. Being confronted by a stranger on the street was one thing but getting yelled at for doing nothing? Very strange. He did say he'd been watching us. Perhaps he worked for the inquisitor? No, that made no sense. "Why would he accost me in the middle of the street if that were so?" The inquisitor had proved to be much more circumspect than that. "Just another lost soul who'd finally cracked" There were too many degenerates in this city. This inquisitor business needed to be resolved soon so Wes could get out of this detestable place and never look back
  12. Yeah I know. That first page is getting pretty busy and the second set is probably my least favorite of the ones I've made (set 3 is a similar idea and better looking) so I took them off the front page. The links are still in the thread though if someone wants one.
  13. This quote from chapter 4 of words of radiance makes it pretty clear he is specifically referring to reforming and uniting the radiants:
  14. Aslo, I noticed that the number got slightly blurry when the icon shrunk to the profile size. I'm a bit anal so I fixed it so it should be clearer and made the orange border more prominent. The link from before is updated for the new icon.
  15. Glad I could help. By happenstance, I had already made that design a day or two ago seeing if I could recreate the de facto 17s icon. I just had to change two layers to orange which only took about 2 minutes so not a problem.
  16. Welcome to the forum. Your door prize:
  17. No problem. Just one layer change so a simple fix.
  18. Okay, all the gemstones are finished and linked above. @moogle: I don't have the vectors for the voids so can't make them as clean as the radiant's but I took off the border on the one you have in your profile and added it below.
  19. There's also the fact that four of the orders (Stonewards, Windrunners, Lightweavers, and Edgedancers) have four of those line connections instead of three. I think the lines represent relationships within the orders. For the most part, short lines are orders that work well together and long lines are orders that are often at odds with each other (as evidenced by the bad blood between Cryptics and honorspren).
  20. Ask and ye shall receive.I tried to vary the shapes of the gemstones a bit. I had troubles deciding on the stone to use for the heliodor and zircon so actually made two alternates for those. Actual smokey quartz (which seems to be the consensus on what smokestone is) has a brownish tint like the one I made above but the skybreaker glyph has a purplish hue so I altered the color of some smokey quarts and made an alternate version of that one.
  21. I won't go into specifics if you haven't read them but one the the WoR excerpts indicates that Tanavast was specifically speaking of reforming the knights radiant when he says unite them (possibly even unite the Radiants and spren again). Your second point is an interesting idea and hadn't heard that possible connection before.
  22. Yes for the engraved version it's more or less just a bevel blending mask. There is also a clipping mask for adding the blue edge (which as was noted didn't show up as much on the lightweaver glyph) and some other small details. The one where I tried to do the glowing from within look though is a pretty complicated process to get the light beams. It involves about 5-6 different filters and numerous layers. As I said, it was a headache and didn't look any better than the engraved version so I'll just stick with finishing that set.
  23. Simply engraving the glyph on the stone is a much simpler process and I can definitely do that if you think it looks better that way:
