  1. We don't have much info on him/her, but I'd imagine The God Beyond could be a candidate since it's theorized it could be the power that opposed Adonalsium.
  2. I shall call thee captain tight pants from this day forward. Welcome to the forum. Elantris is great but you got about three weeks to finish that and Way of Kings. Get on it
  3. I got really frustrated with the warbreaker designs the other day and gave up for a while. Got my second wind and tried for a few more designs. I'll admit, many of these were just slapping together random pictures I found on google and adding some color effects but eh, they are just avatars. The first ones are similar designs to what I had before but with a new approach to the smoke: These ones are actually just pictures I found and added the color effect: These were a completely different approach to the idea swimmingly gave: Any who... do these look any better than what I had before? Btw, Eri, I really like the smoking sward design. I thought of doing something like that but think yours turned out better than I would have gotten it to look so didn't try it. Not sure I'm a fan of the text being on there, though, since it's hard to read when small and it covers up some of the cool design.
  4. Once you get the new ranks all up an running, are you gonna list them out somewhere or gonna leave it up to us to "discover" all the ranks ourselves?
  5. Was just about to say that Duskshard. It's very sad we'll have to wait for another book for anymore Lift. Lopen is pretty high up there as well due to the humor factor.
  6. Warbreaker is completely free as an ebook download off Brandon's website. Best free (non pirated) book you'll ever read.
  7. Every time I take a look at the recent visitor numbers at the bottom of the forum there are at least twice as many "guests" browsing the forum as there are "members". I don't have enough experience with forums to know if that is kinda the norm but it seems like there is quite a bit more potential for growth if WoR entices a lot of those lurkers to finally set up a profile.
  8. Congratulations! You can now Soulcast without a fabrial. Unfortunately, you are now color blind and while everything you cast looks fine to you, to everyone else they look like they were created by a doped up clown. I'd like to be able to change to any of the parshendi forms (known or unknown) whenever I liked.
  9. Give the man a break. He can barely read glyphs. Just browsing the internet seems like a feat in itself.
  10. I think the main issues, shiv, was the initial confusion on if both you and Cessie could be snapped and if it was even possible for Cessie to be a spiked thug. Once it became clear that both of you were actually suspect, it was too late and not enough available facts to sway people who had already voted. I was actually more suspect of Cessie than you but couldn't make any stronger of a case than it was just too coincidental the snapped thug getting attacked right after declaring. Wes sighed to himself. "Yet another asset lost." He shot Cessie a piercing glance but looked away quickly. Despite his suspicions of her being one of their strongest leads so far, they'd felt that way a few times now and each had ended in disaster for the group. It felt more and more like the inquisitor was just playing with them. Before heading out to find a place to hold up for the night, he raised his glass to Shiv's limp, bloody form. "Wasing to.... Notting as the.... Nicing the..." His eyebrows turned down in thought. "Ever wasing the.... Rust and Ruin! Sorry mate. Making coherent thoughts out of your words was half my day's entertainment. You'll be missed." With that, he downed the last of his drink and made his exit out into the unforgiving night.
  11. He is, but hasn't announced exactly when that would go into effect. So, all this could change quite a bit.
  12. I got you some sharp cheese. Welcome to the forum!
  13. I would expect Harmony to be between The Broken One and Adonalsium
  14. Yes, that quote next to your profile picture painted a rather creepy picture in my head
  15. I'm pretty sure it's all theory at this point. Just assumptions based on the belief that darkness and his associates at Gavilar's party are actually heralds and they are acting strange. There is a topic that discusses it a bit HERE. Edit: There is a link at the start of that thread which goes to one of the early theories by Argent on the topic.
  16. I wasn't aware of it before but now I'm excited. Auri is one of the most interesting characters in the series.
  17. They have been theorized to be heralds (including ash). There is a thread on the topic HERE.
  18. As long as it's not a signed copy
  19. Well... A rather large portion of my rep came from the profile icons I share, which could be considered a little bit of a cheat I guess. I didn't start making them for rep but I certainly don't complain about getting the rank boost they garner.
  20. Metacognition has almost 3 to 1 ratio due to hosting sanderson elimination
  21. I actually agree with Peng's comment at this point that Cessie is the safest choice to remove. I'm very aware how ironic that is since I was nominated earlier for being a safe choice but that isn't the only reason I'm actually tempted to vote for her. So far the inquisitor has been either extremely knowledgeable in his/her targets or extraordinarily lucky. It has seemed just too much of a coincidence that Cessie came forward as a snapped pewter arm right before being attacked by the inquisitor. I see three scenarios for this. 1. It was just random luck on the inquisitors part to target Cessie. There seems to be too much of that going around lately, though, and I don't buy it. 2. The inquisitor does have access to Pm's and knew about Cessie telling peng her role. If this were the case, why would he/she target her? It's just a waste of one night's attack to go after someone you know is a pewter. There are plenty of other targets at this point to go after at this point. 3. Cessie is spiked and the inquisitor was trying to use her pewter life to get her into the "trusted" crowd. I haven't made up my decision just yet but there are far too many questions in my mind to risk eliminating yet another one of our possible strong assets if shiv is actually just is the snapped. We can always take him out if I'm wrong about Cessie. Then you can take me out for aiding and abetting unintentionally.
  22. Porridge's quotes pretty much end the debate but just one last note that the two orders who have the surge are called windrunners and skybreakers. Atmospheric pressure fits quite a bit better with those names than an adhesion/binding surge.
  23. When I read The Final Empire, it didin't feel Deus ex Machina to me at all. There were numerous instances of Vin and Kelsier describing the mists as being attracted to allomancers, being a mistborn's friend, feeling safe in the mist, it almost being alive etc., etc. The whole book I was expecting something to happen with it and I actually thought "finally, they did something with the mists" when she used it.
  24. There is an entire set of 33 Aon that can be downloaded in the Creative Corner threads. They were designed to be used as profile pictures but are free to be used however you'd like. There are other Cosmere related icons available for download in that same thread. http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/5633-glyphs-for-profiles/?p=89519
  25. The Alethi rely pretty heavily on cavalry for their assaults. You can set up effective defenses for cavalry charges with spears (but preferably pikes) if you know exactly where the charge will be coming through. If they relied on permanent bridges the parshendi would have an easier time holding those initial charges. The portable bridges allow them to attack at multiple points making it much more difficult for the parshendi to set up a defense. In order to have the same effectiveness, the Alethi would need multiple bridges permanently setup along each plateau which is too much work when the portable bridges do the job just fine. Also, couldn't Eshonai just slice any stone bridge to pieces anyway?
