  1. This is far too out of context. There are about a hundred situations in which this could apply. The thing about the fractured sky, however... That brings up some fascinating thoughts. Namely, if the sky is fracturing, then maybe it will break. Combined with the order of Skybreakers, this is a possible indicator that Roshar is the Expanse of the Broken Sky, though I don't know how much sense that makes as the map of Shadesmar is theoretically from the perspective of Roshar. EDIT: Otherwise, we'll probably see a Skybreaker at least in this book, so yay for that, I guess.
  2. the pancakes that (If you're referring to Makal, Makal is a she.)
  3. Actually, keteks would be awesome. There are a couple pages on which there are some awesome keteks. Maybe you could compile some of those.
  4. I would be interested in forming one. The Reading Excuses forum does something similar, though. It's a bigger group, I think. And, of course, it all has to be online.
  5. I'll definitely send in a couple cards. I'm going to print those card out and use them as stationery regardless. They're awesome.
  6. I like the Taravangian idea. He seems to fit perfectly as the head of the Ghostbloods. The hints about Roshone are interesting, too. I never caught those.
  7. Yeah. good points, Swimmingly. For me, though I don't have a signing to go to, I want to finish it quickly. I figure I'll have read about 10 hours by the end of the 4th, so I'm going to reread WoK and see how long that takes me. I'll probably be done that day, because Im going to reread the sample chapters the day before, so I don't have to read them after it comes out. Of course, I read fast and I often skip description.
  8. What will you put on the front of the book? You obviously need a title (something like 'Thank You Brandon Sanderson'). I would suggest that you translate the title into Alethi and the Steel Alphabet, ad put those beneath it. You'll also probably want some artwork. Some other things that I thought of: Maybe you ccould put in a CD of people recording their thanks. You might even slip a track of someone singing Shallan's Lullaby in the middle somewhere. Then, of course, you decorate the front of the CD with fun designs. Also, this is something that might be very difficult. Could you make a little dent in the back of the album and make it look like it's Soulstamped? This would be hard, but cool.
  9. I can't go to any of the other signings. The nearest to me would be San Francisco, but since that's on a Tuesday, it doesn't really work out. I have school that day. How did you discover Brandon Sanderson? EDIT: I was wrong. It's a Thursday, which is even worse.
  10. Welcome! Have you read all the books?
  11. This is a hard one. I find it interesting that they vary the understandability level of the quotes. For example, the last one was fairly straightforward, with basically two interpretations. This one could be nearly anything. At least there are some we can understand. Maybe.
  12. I like the search feature too. That's why I got the eBook. Still... They haven't quite figured out the livestreaming yet. They're not sure how to do it. As far as I know, there won't be dancing. However, there will be some fun games, including trivia questions (some hard enough to stump Peter, I'm told). There'll be lots of lively discussions about theories and the like, too. There will be lots of time in the signing line to discuss. Then, you get to ask Brandon a couple questions as he signs your books, which will be recorded (probably by Josh or Mi'ch) and posted on here later. That's common practice on the signings, by the way. So prepare some questions and perhaps bring a recording device. Your phone would be fine. Brandon's usually fine with you just going up and asking if you can put your phone (or whatever) somewhere near the table and record the whole thing. So. Do you know anyone in real life who reads Sanderson books? Are they coming to the signing?
  13. Are the hoizontal lines in the spaces connected to the words, or not?
  14. I have an iPad that I read eBooks on, when I read them. Generally, I prefer real books. They are just so much more... I don't know. They have a nice smell. Even for the Way of Kings, I preferred to carry the thing around for a week (for a read and immediate reread) than get the ebook. Question: Where do you listen to your audiobooks the most?
  15. It doesn't. Of course, it could be magic from somewhere we haven't seen yet, I guess...
  16. Point taken. But it is different for those in the book-- Dalinar has a much firmer base than Taravangian, if all the blood-draining stuff gets out. That's kind of off topic, though. To actually respond to the original point: Dalinar is indeed fighting the Parshendi basically only to unite the highprinces. However, he doesn't have much choice. He could urge a return to Alethkar (unlikely to succeed), or abdicate, I guess, leaving the whole mess in Adolin's lap instead. Otherwise, he would probably continue fighting the Parshendi anyway, for far less reason. I agree with that. Regardless, it's a nice place on the Internet to be.
  17. Ok. I just wasn't sure what you were referring to. Though, it's interesting to make a distinction: What Dalinar is doing is legal (it's war), while Mr. T is committing murder. Or maybe homocide? I'm not very well versed in legality. So there's that. EDIT: I think we have more time than you assume. Remember that there will be ten books, with a break of an unspecified amount of time between them. This allows for at least two years, probably more like five. Though, the Everstorm will arrive before that, so I don't know. If only we had any idea what the Everstorm wil be.Also, I don't think that you're giving Taravangian enough credit. He hasn't spelled out his plan yet, and for all we know, he is not planning to set himself up as a leader. We have no idea what he's trying to do, except create chaos and restructure society in some way. Maybe he'll just make Kharbranth seem like a place of safety when all the rest of the world is in chaos, so people will flock to it. He'll start expanding slowly and gaining more power, and no one will be able to stop him. He doesn't even need to tell people about the Everstorm.
  18. Who are these people that Dalinar will murder? Are you referring to the Parshendi? I can't think of anyone else that Dalinar is planning to murder. And, I doubt that Dalinar has killed more people than Mr. T, not counting the Parshendi. (If you do count them, then sure.) He participated in the wars to see Gavilar king, but I doubt that involves as much murder as sucking the blood out of thousands of people (conservatively).
  19. Not that I know of, unfortunately. It might be less expensive as an ebook. Have you read the Emperor's Soul or Defending Elysium?
