  1. Ok. Thanks!EDIT: I just noticed that Peter has reached 1028 and is now Adonalsium. So 1024+ is Adonalsium, except for 1337. Interesting...
  2. Meh. While I'm here, I might as well ask. What's the meaning of the dots above the Rep Points, under where it says 'Members'?
  3. Eighty? That is a lot. Will the system for getting points be the same? (That is, upvotes and downvotes) Will we still have the old levels too, or will the new system completely replace the old one? Are any of the levels going to have the same name as one we currently have?
  4. A focus. Foci is plural. (The title is wrong.)This is an interesting thread that I don't have anything to add to at the moment.
  5. That's okay. It's not something you absolutely have to do, but it is good when you get around to it. It was really convenient for me, because I just downloaded it on my iPad and used that as my book for a few days. I began writing very recently. My writing is not as good as I want it to be, so it's not available to the public yet in general. Still, I participated in NaNoWriMo last fall, which is an organization which helps people write 50,000 words in a month. (For size, that's a novella, like the Christmas Carol).I am very slightly Irish. I love Irish music too, though, and much of my harp repertoire is Irish. Enough about me. How much do you know and/or care about the Cosmere? EDIT: I don't know if you were aware, but on this forum we generally don't double post. If you have something to add, click the edit button on your last post, by the quote and multiquote buttons. Thank you!
  6. Welcome to the 17th Shard! Have you read Warbreaker? You didn't mention it.
  7. Or queen of reading. I would say time actually spent reading, just because of this: Let's give all the UK people a chance.
  8. I don't know how much you've read on Sanderson's Laws, specifically the second law.. I would think about them, if you have. If you haven't, take a look at this link: http://brandonsanderson.com/sandersons-second-law/ Especially look at the weaknesses/costs/limitations section. I think you've got what you want your magic to do worked out somewhat, but what will it cost? What can't it do? Things like that.
  9. That's great! How interested are you in the Cosmere? Depending on that, you might want to read Warbreaker and Elantris very soon. They're Cosmere books. How many of the short stories have you read? (I haven't read many, but I'm planning to)
  10. Was that double post on purpose?
  11. Ha.Welcome to the forums, Adolin! That felt weird to type. I mean, I'm welcoming the son of a highprince into the 17th Shard. It's a little odd. But hey, it could happen.
  12. Thanks, Shardlet!

  14. Welcome to the 17th Shard! I hope you enjoy this community. What other Sanderson books have you read?
  15. I'm assuming that this is not in, say, the last chapter. It could be, but for the purposes of this argument, it's not. Keep that in mind. That said, if the 38 days is for the same deadline as the 62, that's 24 days between the beginning chapters and somewhere in the middle. That's not much of a timeline to go with. Regardless, we know that the minimum time over this book is around 30. However, I think we can assume that we will actually get to the deadline. That is (unfortunately) uncertain too, but I think we won't have quite that big of a cliffhanger. So that's around 70 days, rather similar to WoK. I doubt that we will actually get much past that deadline, though. So we have a rough amount of time for WoR. I don't know how that helps, but it's one more piece of information. Remember, this is based mostly on assumptions. Be very careful when using it.
  16. I'm one of those people. It took the Shardhunt to get me out. But then again, I might have joined anyway. It's just that this is only the second forum I've ever joined, and I'm very careful in general with subscribing and posting and things like that. I've even noticed the increase, though, and I joined only a few weeks ago.
  17. Fair enough. These points are all interesting. I'm still thinking about how Allomancy ties in.
  18. There are lectures posted from 2012 and 2013. The next ones will be up in July or August sometime of this year.
  19. When you see someone called Harmonie and the first thing you think of is Sazed. When you dream about the prerelease party. (Though I can't be there).
  20. Welcome! Have you read any of his other books yet? If not, I would recommend at least Elantris, since it's Cosmere related.
  21. Is this the thing you were talking about in another thread that was suggested as one of the sample chapters?
  22. I like these! To expand upon them: I will learn that which seems unknowable. OR I will learn that which seems irrelevant. I will be fearless when others turn back. I will have faith in that which seems weak. Also: I will laugh when all is dark.-Kelsier I will kill those who must die. i will tend those who are untended. I will speak for those who cannot speak themselves.
  23. What about time bubbles?
  24. I totally agree! I can't wait. Ha! That would be sad, because they might be scared enough not to sell them.
  25. The plane ride was totally worth it. The ocean is actually warm here!
