  1. In that case, let me offer another compliment: even if you didn't invent it, you were the one to import it (and, I am assuming, the rate the signature thread) idea(s) here. Furthermore, you joined both the Cosmere Pack and the Knight's Awkward, which is cool. I don't know you personally, which is a shame; I like knowing people, in general, btu I hope I can get to know you.
  2. The Arrow-themed usename didn't give anything anyway? I'd face palm, but I choose to believe that just means my secret identity is working lol.
  3. You'll have to be a little clearer. Was that the first season's first episode with William Hartnell, the first season's first episode with Christopher Eccleston, or the first season's first epsiode with Matt Smith (which for some reason, people pretended was a new season one)? Joking aisde, that's fair enough. If you ever do want to check out the show, you could always just try a different Doctor; whenever a new actor takes over, the show (more or less) "reboots" in how it does stuff, so maybe some other creative team would be more in line with what you like.
  4. Out of curiosity, am I the only one who reads this topic's title in the same tone as a guy in a well-dressed suit saying "Would be a shame if anything happened to, am I right?"
  5. 7/10 I like having links to things- just check my own signature for that!- but I think links works a lot better as hyperlinked text in signatures. So, instead of having the full addresses to click on, I'd rather see something like "Cosmere City!" Saga 1: The Timekeeper" That said, I do like the fact that you labelled Timekeeper as the first saga; if the game hits it off and you end up with a lot more, then putting numbers in front of it will make things easier to read and get caught up on in the future.
  6. The featured member project seems like it could be a lot of fun, which was entirely your idea, so... that was awesome. It's a pretty clever idea, and you should feel proud of thinking of it, and hosting it.
  7. Eh, I just feel like this is my more recognisable "signature" look. I am still one hundred percent committed to the cause of pony!
  8. Lesson Zero.
  9. Excellent. You continue to follow the path foretold for you in accordance with prophecy.
  10. I'm not 2,504 years old. I'm 2,504 years young.
  11. Let's face it, there's only one choice for Best Doctor. But besides him, I'm actually kind of fond of Eight. My favorite Doctor tends to vary depending on my mood, but I do keep coming back to that sort of romantic and hopeful incarnation... which is funny because I hate the movie he is so much. Paul McGann's performance, however, just saves the character for me, so much so that, while I liked Hurt, I would have prefered if McGann had been the War Doctor. Other Doctors I like include Six, Seven, Nine and Ten. I feel like season eight was-purposefully- an extended "finding out who the Doctor is" season, so I'm reserving opinions on Capaldi until next year. I liked Season 5!Eleven, but after that... no. As far as Moffat goes as a writer... I am firmly on the "lost his touch" side of things. Season five is as close to perfect as a Doctor Who season has ever gotten to me, but his following work... yikes. Moffat has a very distinct bag of tricks that I feel he's pulled from too many times; I've seen Listen praised as an amazing episode, but for me, it's just another rehash of Blink. As far as the sexism goes, I don't know if he's sexist, but I also don't think he writes women very well. Others have mentioned finding Clara a bit flat, but besides her, Moffat females seem to be... very similar; I think there's a reason why I (and some others?) have assumed the Papal Mainframe had to be a regeneration of River Song. Yes, AMY is pretty cool; but I get the feeling she's the exception rather than the rule. EDIT Know what, here's my quippy way of summarising problems I have with Moffat: for someone who is praised for intricate plotting and elaborate plot twists, I feel like he leaves a lot of loose ends and unexplained things.
  12. I think the release order is (mostly) a chronological retelling of events, so I mostly stick with that... though I admit, I haven't read the Sel stuff, so I'm not quite sure where they fit into the timeline.
  13. SUPER Secret route: While scouting out a target, Kelsier finds a young woman who appears to be neither skaa nor noble. Confused, he takes her back to the Clubs', where Vin is entrusted with caring for the delusional girl, who speaks of a world named Nalthis, and calls herself "Siri."
  14. Welcome! It's amazing how Brandon's books can appeal to people of all ages; I haven't read his YA books, but I think a twelve year old would get just as much enjoyment out of them as a forty year old as... well, anything in between or beyond. He's an awesome author. Anyway, like I said, welcome, and don't worry about grading papers; you could always pull a Tolkien, scribble some scraps of realmantic theory on the back of one and hti a breakthrough or something.
  15. Most of the wildlife on Roshar have shells, and Szeth is,basically, a ninja.
  16. They stopped airing OUAT here after season two; I guess the ratings weren't very good? Which is a shame. I have to admit, in a lot of ways, the show didn't quite live up to what I was expecting it to be...
  17. Guards! is the book that made me want to read all of Discworld; I admit, there are certain Guard stories which don't quite work for me, but the first one... damnation that's a good book.
  18. Have you read Lords and Ladies? My favorite book from the Witches 'sequance', and probably one of my favorites overall. No problem! I'd recommend reading Warbreaker as soon as possible; its awesome.
  19. I can't comment on Steelheart, since I haven't read it; but if you like it, I would recommend checking out the Oregon RPG. ...still, Warbreaker is awesome, and I'd recommend starting there. Im guessing from your signature that you are also a fan of Pratchett. Discworld is a great series.
  20. I wish I knew something about art, so I could offer more substantial input than "Your art is good and I like it." But... I don't know anything about art. So. Your art is good and I like it.
  21. Hah, your Jedi mind tricks won't work on me! I've already read Words of Radiance! Anyway, welcome. So far as spoilers are concerned, its best to either avoid spoilers, or at least put them in spoiler tags, since not everyone who joins up will have read everything. Hope you enjoy Words of Radiance when you get it!
  22. Welcome! If your interested in more Brandon, I'd suggest Warbreaker; its available as a free download from Brandons site, as well as being my personal favorite book
  23. Putting thoughts together, so this might be...incoherent.
  24. Well, I mention Akhatan because I imagined them being traded and forming part of society too. I just kind of like the idea of a magic system which could, effectively, result in Alzheimer's for practitioners, for the whole nature vs nurture thing... ...but seriously, no ones heard of this?
  25. So, an idea occurred to me. Problem is, I'm sure its probably been done; I just can't remember where I read it. (Or hell, maybe I didn't and did create this. But I doubt it.) Has anyone heard of a story involving weaponising/using memories as a form of magic? The closest I can think is 'Rings of Akhaten', but I feel like I must have read it somewhere else...
