  1. Or maybe, you know, a magic that lets you redirect gravity simply does it, the same way Steelpushes and Ironpulls don't actually use magnetism. There is a limit to how "hard" magic has to be.
  2. Not entirely, though. There's a lot of variability in terms of what the furies can actually do.
  3. He can use them once then they disappear.
  4. Especially since Harry tends to specialise, and a lot of the magic in that world - werewolfs, vampires, etc. - is very constrained as well.
  5. You could have an entire game based around fabrial tech, where there's a Thief who can steal a single fabrial power per night. He can then use each fabrial only once, and has to chose each night between using a fabrial or stealing a new one. Mesh that with powers that can't be stolen and a faction trying to kill off everybody, and you've got a game where the Thief wins if he gains all the fabrial powers, and everybody wins if all the evil faction are eliminated.
  6. These aren't pitchforks. They're Hemalurgic spikes. We're going to spike out your memories. I think you can guess which ones.

  11. I downvote posts that are a breach forum etiquette, or make me feel angry inside, except for double posts. In that case, I downvote one and upvote the second.
  12. I want to see one of Lopen's family reunions
  13. I'm thinking that's because ancient plate was powered by the Surgebinders themselves, and the use of Stormlight directly from gems is a more modern approach.
  14. Fiend.
  15. Yeah, I think so. Elend hadn't Snapped, had he?
  16. Shhhhhhh It's a plot hole But it looks cool So shhhhhhh
  17. You know, his story would be pretty damnation tragic if he wasn't so blasé about it. And the curse of kind is likely real, given that we know how fChrome affects luck
  18. Pewter doesn't make you glow, but you have much finer control over it. Stormlight, however, seems to actually heal you instantly rather than just keep you alive while speeding healing slightly.
  19. "Mommy is very upset with you. That piece of metal was worth the same as our house, Jimmy."
  20. However, why would a non-allomancer ingest it?
  21. "Dalinar, old friend, what's with the captain of your guard? He keeps STARING at me. It's like he recognises me from somewhere." "Oh, Kaladin? Don't mind him. Loyal as they come and a master with that spear besides." "Dalinar, every time he looks at me I feel my fingers glue together and strange whispering echoes in my ears..." "You're too paranoid, old friend!"
  22. Now that I'm pretty much resigned to Jasnah dying, I'm wondering if she'll make her way to Scadrial and talk to Sazed.
  23. Which is good enough. Between his arm, his cousins, and his personality, he is simultaneously useful and hilarious.
  24. Arousmentspren, frequently followed by shamespren, and laughterspren from other people.
