  1. Welcome to our evil lair humble abode. Please feel terrified welcome!
  2. Perhaps Odium cannot directly control, but simply augment a person's emotions and rage to the point that their soul cracks open and a Voidspren bond can be wedged in?
  3. And the definition of Splinter is "a sentient piece of a Shard's power which has no holder".
  4. Or just put it in the Creators' Corner, if you don't mind everybody getting a look and a word in.
  5. I'm not gonna go crazy, but it makes all the logical sense. Could be wrong, but the evidence for is much stronger than that against.
  6. It's probable that Honor created Splinters pre-shattering à la Divine Breath.
  7. I think those are dates. Not barcodes or anything scary like that Basically, the forum is just for critiques; the actual works that are being critiqued are distributed by email.
  8. Just cause you're the god of death doesn't mean you're evil. Besides, the Nightwatcher could have been mythological before Cultivation took it's mantle.
  9. And that means that she will hear Amaram describing her brother as an "assassin". Won't go over too well, I imagine.
  10. Here's a possibility: The way the KR are being reformed - slowly and through disparate individuals - is going to result in bands of KR not necessarily of the same order getting together and forming "chapters" composed of separate orders, united under Dalinar, Jasnah, and others. Though some chapters may split due to the dispositions of those within into chapters composed of those same closely aligned orders, and given enough time, into the individual orders again, the advent of the Everstorm will force different orders to reconcile on an individual basis. Shallan may not get along great with Kaladin when they meet, but they'll not actively dislike each other or avoid working together.
  11. Could just be Kal speaking above his Alethi station while training men. Renarin stops by, and Kaladin doesn't dislike him, even if he doesn't like him. May even remind him of Tien. Anyway, they have a short conversation in which Renarin is oddly respectful despite their differences in station, and Kaladin eventually asks him to cut something with his newly gained Shardblade.
  12. An unrelated incident involving him either finally turning his bottled rage on her or him brutally beating one of her brothers? She tries to intervene and accidently (or in rage) summons a Shardblade which she tries to use to force him to stop. He calls her bluff, and she's forced to follow through.
  13. Actually, not all fires attract spren. Someone makes note of the unreliability of spren using this as an example - I think it's Axies? I'll check. Edit: Here it is, from the Axies the Collector interlufe:
  14. Sorry, am I missing something? I'm not quite sure where to read this to critique it...
  15. My friend, this post is empty...
  16. Renarin is a Dustbringer! He can blow things up with his fingers! Such as rocks!
  17. Huh. I'd ask to join, but I write very infrequently. Would you be open to a guest dropping by from time to time to review or submit things?
  18. My theory: there are spren for each of the emotions trapped inside the gems. The pattern emerges based on their interactions. It is based off the Body Focus, in this case the Soul. Those gems are rubies.
  19. There needs to be a level called "Cosmere Colluder", maybe right after 17th Shard Trainee.
  20. Question: would cutting Navani's Pain Knife with a shardblade and then repairing the metal exactly result in a working Pain Knife? Would cutting the ReGrowth fabrial from Dalinar's vision with a Shardblade then repairing the metal exactly impair it's function?
  21. I put credence in the theory that shardplate is personal to the KR.
  22. Nah, that would mess up his style. Brandon writes windows to worlds, so you can see through the glass. His writing is all about making that glass as clear as possible. Rothfuss's writing is more like a sculpture, painted exactly, beautiful in form. There's another dimension to it. Unfortunately, it takes longer to make a sculpture than a window.
  23. Basically, there are Words of Brandon floating about that give hints as to the Cosmere stuff. There are small hints in the books, and more rampant speculation derived with equal parts logic and madness from all that.
