  1. Harmony reportedly changed some aspects of the Metallic Arts upon Ascention, and the effects of Aluminum don't turn up until AoL era. What if Harmony changed that? What else might he have changed?
  2. 九日
  3. We won't see it, cause he veto'd it.
  4. Um... By "respect", you don't mean cutting up their dead bodies and wearing them as armour, right? Cause that is not only incredibly disrespectful, but gross and also a violation of a major taboo in Listener culture.
  5. This is incredible. Glad you brought this back into the New content section.
  6. Trilled melancholically beneath
  7. Belated welcomings to this community. Excellent theory.
  8. Imagine this scenario: Kal puts on plate. Swings spear in complicated kata. Takes a breath. All the stormlight in the suit fills his nostrils, and suddenly he has superpowers while inside a 200 pound scaled metal shell that is doing nothing but slowing him down - when his style relies on movement.
  9. I don't think Feruchemy actually accumulates enough Investiture under normal circumstances to resist Pushes and Pulls.
  10. You can push vialed metals. Happens a bunch of times in fights in the Mistborn books.
  11. Or, you know, embracing family in the wake of a disaster. You know, "Well, this is the apocalypse. Give me a hug, son. This is the big one."
  12. Buy. That's an application I hadn't considered. Renarin and Adolin are going to clash over Adolin's
  13. Funny, I always got the impression that Kvothe was a bit of a dick with a frantic White Knight disorder when it came to women, partly as a way to prove himself right. The women range from weak to strong to manipulative bitches, but Kvothe is tragically blind to all that. I always saw Kvothe as an incredibly flawed character (flawed as a person, not a flawed as in badly-written), to the point that I would shirk entirely from writing him. Rothfuss can still get us to empathise with him, though, which is equally remarkable.
  14. Read all the prerelease content, then skip that when you get the book. Read the story all the way through, but don't spend any time on the epigraphs, art, and skim the interludes. If a viewpoint begins to bore you for any reason, start skimming until it's interesting again; Brandon will have made the most important things plot-wise the most interesting anyway. If it's subtle details that are vital, remember that the characters will figure out the most important things in handy bursts of exposition anyway, so skim away. Let your gaze bounce over action scenes quickly; every spear thrust is not integral to the plot. Who died is the vital stuff.
  15. You figure out a way to teleport energy, then you send very specific coordinates and a time to your buddy in Elantris. He makes it happen. Things explode. Or are healed
  16. You could just donate the money and assume that all the undescribed scenery characters have your Roshar'd face unless explicitly stated otherwise.
  17. You could just burn it allomantically while tapping another tinmind anyway. Plus the ability to store touch might help with the supersensory pain. You could be a tin savant and just store your senses to avoid the pain. Though I think storing vision would just make you nearsighted, so you might still need the whole badass blindfold thing.
  18. Double tin would be pretty awesome, as you could switch between feruchemical distance vision and allomantic night vision whenever you wanted. The advantage of Feruchemical tin that nobody ever seems to mention is the ability to store touch, essentially making you unable to feel pain. Depending on how that worked, you might even be able to negate the disadvantages of Allomantic tin by numbing yourself.
  19. Perhaps storing Identity or Investiture would do the trick, or even spiritual connection.
  20. Yeah, if we want to figure this stuff out, we'll either have to wait a decade or two or reinact Misery.
