Mid-Range Game 1: The Stormfather and The Nightwatcher
GreyPilgrim replied to Rubix's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Just to confirm, the game is beginning today at noon MDT (18:00 GMT)? Is this going to be the rollover time for the whole game? This game is going to be devilishly fun!- 384 replies

Three White Sand Comics from Dynamite, First in 2015

So does this mean that once these books are published public discussion of the original White Sand will no longer be taboo? -
Looking Inside the New Trade Paperback of Mistborn
GreyPilgrim commented on Chaos's article in Brandon and Book News
Very interested about the map. So I guess Nazh went to Luthadel, made a map, brought it to the Ars Arcanum author, and was sent right back. And if he does the maps for the later trilogies... Nazh is going to have a lot of fun on Scadrial. -
My reactions to Eye of the World
GreyPilgrim replied to Fifth of Daybreak's topic in The Wheel of Time
As Quitecontrary says, you are right on some of these, but I would say that the majority are significantly off. The series develops in many different and interesting ways, and I bet you'll enjoy it. I'm interested that you latched on to so many of the other characters so early on. I didn't really care about Mat, Elayne, or the Darkfriends for several books. You will be surprised by where the story goes, I think. Good job catching the hints about Rand's channeling. I didn't get them until rereads. -
Smuggeling with forgery
GreyPilgrim replied to High prince of geeks's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
I agree with Kurk that hollowing out the wall and removing the stamp wouldn't work. Remember that when you make a stamp, you are essentially tricking the object to believe it is something else (changing its Cognitive ideal of itself), not directly changing it in the Physical Realm. When you remove the stamp, the object reverts to its original Cognitive state, how it was before Forging it. However, if you leave objects inside the wall, the wall is changed, and it essentially cannot believe it is back to normal because it no longer is. So, as Kurk says, the items inside the wall would likely be destroyed or expelled from the wall in order to allow it to return to normal. -
Mid-Range Game 1: The Stormfather and The Nightwatcher
GreyPilgrim replied to Rubix's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Wow, Adolin, I could never have guessed that you would play that character in this game. How original! Since I'm dead in Game 5, I'll join. This is basically going to be Game 6, considering the player count and the face that by the time it starts Game 5 should be basically over. We have a good crowd so far! This game is going to be as confusing as Game 5. But I'm ready! Looks amazing. I will be Greyeh Pilgras, daughter of Grellin Pilgras in this alternate universe. (Woohoo. My first female RP. Should be fun to explore Alethi prejudices a bit, since that didn't happen in Game 5.) Edit: Since I'm considering this an alternate universe to Game 5, (which of course it is) Greyeh is not necessarily a noble, even though Grellin was in Game 5. I just wanted to be able to give a nod to him.- 384 replies

It just occurred to me, are you guys only voting for me because my reputation is Ghostblood right now?
-
Well, guys, you are making the wrong decision. I guess if I have bad luck; I was off the map at the beginning of Day 4 in Game 4 and died that day as well. Since you will find that I am innocent very soon, accept this information as fact: I have had a spanreed and a Reverser since the beginning of the game. I did not use the Reverser until Day 3, when I reversed Alv's vote on Tion to Faialen. I falsely believed that one of the spanreed holders would definitely be a GB, so when I discovered Faialen was the third initial holder, I was sure he was a GB. I was working with Tion, Jost, and Ace through a PM with Ace only to lynch Faialen. My personal suspects are (sorry, don't have time to explain): Awes, Sprenil, Khas, and Wurum. Well, thank you guys for a good game. Though it is not going well for the Nobles. I am not confident. Four days, and still no GBs killed. Grellin out.

Unfortunately, I am going to be away for a few days so will be unable to focus on the game for this cycle. Please pardon my absence.
-
Chaos, not you too! But more seriously, I have only seen the doubling up with Windrunner. Has it happened to other staff as well?

M'Lady, mitosis is the process by which a cell splits to become two copies of itself. It is also the name of an Epic in the novelette Mitosis taking place after the events of Steelheart.

I asked about the reason Brandon structured WoK as he did, Shallan and Dalinar alternating Parts then coming together in Part Five. Partially just because I want to ask a question that won't get RAFOed, and because I am genuinely interested in it.

Pai and Zahel - Foreshadowing
GreyPilgrim replied to Glaring at the Survivor's topic in Stormlight Archive
Very good observation, Aleksiel. Even though she was executed, I bet there's more to this. I will make sure to file that bit away. Could Pai have been a Truthwatcher? She certainly believed she saw the truth. A little far-fetched, but her name could have been a hint on Brandon's part. -
No, of course not, Brother Swimmingly. Pardon me, please, Luthemir. I felt the heat of the moment and my anger got the better of me. M'Lady, please forgive me this slight misstep. I meant not to threaten Thy humble servants.
-
Lurthemir! Thou doth doubt the power of the Holy Weapons of the Divine Queen Elsa Steelheart! Lynch him, lynch him I say!
-
I doth, M'Lady. I receive my Steel armor and ice sword with great gratitude. I shall use them to well serve thee, M'Lady. I shall not fail. This I swear.

Pai and Zahel - Foreshadowing

Its funny, how many things begin with his getting thrown in prison. I don't necessarily think he will get thrown in jail, but it would certainly be funny if he did. I guess we shall see. -
The Observer's Guild
GreyPilgrim replied to Lightsworn Panda's topic in Social Groups, Clans, & Guilds
Or has he? These are dark days in the land of 17th Shard... -
Heh. I am beginning to wonder that too. That would be an evil move on Maill's part. "Heh. I'll tell them all there are enemies but not actually make any and watch them suffer and agonize!"
-
Very cool. I had not noticed the references to eleven and Damnation, nor fourteen by Jek/Szeth. Very interesting. If fourteen is actually significant, then I doubt it would have been changed since WoK prime, but yes, Book 3 will tell.

The Observer's Guild
GreyPilgrim replied to Lightsworn Panda's topic in Social Groups, Clans, & Guilds
What did you do to him????? -
Since I did not formally swear my fealty, I do so now. M'Lady Elsa Steelheart, First of Thy Name, Titan of Ice, Snowwarden, Frozenborn, Queen of Newcago and all Lands of the Seventeenth, I, the Grey Pilgrim, do swear my humble, undying fealty to thee. I shall forevermore serve thee with the utmost fervency, till last I draw breath.

The Observer's Guild
GreyPilgrim replied to Lightsworn Panda's topic in Social Groups, Clans, & Guilds
Well, I just joined the Newcagos. I think that is good enough for me for now. So GreyPilgrim is not an Observer. Maybe Observer will join you. -
And so did I. Such is the nature of the game, I guess. My regards, Faialen. I am sorry. This does not bode well...
