I am now in possession of a Costco-sized tub of Andes mints.

After the (deserved, if unfortunate) utter implosion of NaNoWriMo as an organization, I find myself still wanting to participate in some kind of 30-day writing challenge this November. The question now, I suppose, is whether to sign up for NovNov or just go it alone--after all, the only real "requirement" is to write 1,667 words a day, something for which no app or service is required.

Desperate times call for desperate measures, and desperation this time compelled me to wander about in the rain in a big black garbage bag with a hole poked through it so I could see.

The Second Story is swiftly becoming my favorite writing channel.

PSA: If your response to somebody begins with or contains any variation of "So you're saying..." or "Why don't you just...", I will assume you're either acting in bad faith or have soup for brains and immediately and completely disregard anything you have to say.
Admittedly, tone is hard to read over text, but it's usually pretty clear in context when the above are used in a condescending manner.

On one hand, I was staying up doing something productive (practicing piano)...
On the other, it's now 4:38 AM.

I’ve finally turned my attention to learning something other than a hymn on the piano! (I used to know half of a couple songs before, but I’ve basically entirely forgotten them at this point so it doesn’t count.) Anyways, the song I’m learning is The Loxian Gate by Enya, one of my most favorite songs of all time.
Maybe I’ll upload a recording once I’ve got it down, though in all likelihood that may be a full decade from now.

Pardon the lower quality image; the camera I'm using now is a little less versatile. Pardon the janky handwriting on the left; I'm still early in the notebook and so had to work around the significant hump on the right side.
In any case, Now's the Time has proved increasingly prophetic, and the following track, Over Me, has always been topical. There are many more songs by Collective Soul I could mention at this time--one of the many reasons they're my favorite--but I thought these two summed up my thoughts well enough.
I'll issue a brief language warning at the very end of Now's the Time, after the bridge (not written here).

I watched The War of the Rohirrim the other day, and while it was engaging enough, I couldn't shake the feeling the whole time that I was just watching a worse version of The Two Towers and Brave. 5, maybe 6/10.
The thing I liked most: Hera. I mean, come on.
The thing I disliked the most: Pro tip, if you need a narrator to drop in every half hour and explain the plot, then your plot sucks. Or you suck at writing. Or both.
