  1. Kelsier did not eat Lerasium. He was snapped in the Pits and was a 'natural' Mistborn.
  2. Just to add to Treamayne: MB Era 2 Spoilers:
  3. This still feels too....clean. Identity contamination has been a huge issue. We are saying that Shallan can just, not deal with that? I reject that. I feel like there has to be more to this. Shallan being able to take metalminds (with a medallion), and steal breaths is way too easy. If Shallan can just change her Identity at will, I really don't like that. There has to be something else to this other than 'Be Drehy'
  4. This is (sort of) a theory that I had! "This should not surprise anyone who has familiarity with a spren, though such things are less common now than they once were." WHAT HAPPENED TO THE SPREN
  5. Here's a question (I quoted you since I feel that if anyone knows the answer it is you). We know that awakening liquids is functionally impossible - that makes a lot of sense to me. Could you awaken Non-Newtonian fluids (NNF)? For those unfamiliar - Oobleck is the combination of cornstarch and water. If you punch it, it will act as a solid, but left alone will flow like a liquid. All NNF act this way, but Oobleck is extremely easy to make and can withstand a surprising amount of force (not sure if i can link videos here - Hydraulic Press Channel has a test of this). Nalthians should be able to make a NNF with any starch they have on hand. If you can awaken NNF, that might be the most op and versatile awakening you could make. Its clear that awakened objects are able to exert forces - rope hurling a boulder, choking someone, etc. Meaning, that it should be able to enact those forces on itself, allowing it to be as solid / liquid as the situation demands. Im going to list just a couple applications but they really are limitless if this possible. Awakened NNF power armor. You are covered in the NNF, constantly flowing around your body to stay the desired consistency. This armor will naturally be resistant to blows due to the properties of NNF, and can extend to grab projectiles and slow them before impact. This armor would act as an extension of yourself, similar to Venom, where the NNF around your arms could extend into a blade, mallet, key, whatever. Extremely versatile and hard to get past. Especially if you store extra breaths in it - increasing its resistance. You could also awaken small blobs for doing sneaky things. The small blob can become a quasi-liquid to slip under doors or through tiny cracks, then form into a useful shape on the other side. You could awaken a massive blob of this and use it for transportation, basically a never ending wave that rotates on itself, while keeping you in the center - similar to surfing. You could make Soldiers from this that can break into tens or hundreds of smaller soldiers. The applications really are limitless. Which is why I'm guessing this isn't allowed lol.
  6. if Spiritual Adhesion is the only ability we know that can do that, how was Design able to manipulate Connection in Yumi when she is a cryptic?
  7. Even more evidence for Ishar imo. Before Dalinar, the person who had the greatest Connection to Honor (and greatest ability to manipulate that Connection) was Ishar. The Stormfather has seen this coming for a long time. Honor left those visions in his care a long time ago. Not only do I think it should be possible for Ishar, through his Connection to the Stormfather, to see the contents of those visions, it is certainly possible the Stormfather willingly showed them to Ishar in one of the many years before way of kings begins. My main problem with this is with Stormfather going for Gavilar at all. The wob you provided says that spren, when not bonded, cannot understand the world very well. Ok, so he didn't understand that slaughtering all across your nation simply for the pursuit of your own power wasn't the mark of an Honorable man - seriously? The creature that holds a piece of Tanavast thought that was a good candidate? However, at the same time, he was able to notice the potential in Dalinar. A man who, until Gavilar dies, is a helpless drunk who's only skills lie in killing - which he does because he likes the way it makes him feel. So the Stormfather was actively sabotaging his own efforts? This doesn't make any sense. When Dalinar gets the visions, he is uncontrollably thrown into them, while he convulses and chants in ancient language on the floor, which has to happen during a Highstorm. How are Gav and Dals experiences at all comparable? The only similarity between them is the content of the visions. The Stormfather howls in pain when Dalinar makes him manifest, and has NEVER shown up as a person to him. Showing up as a person has little to no consequence on the Stormfathers mission. In fact, it would have helped Dalinar come to grips with what is happening to him a lot sooner. There is no reason for him to never do that again. If Gavilar and the Stormfather had a proto-bond, that pretty much destroys the 'Stormfather wasnt bonded so he wasnt very aware' defense. It is undeniable that Dalinar and Stormfather are more bonded now than Gav and Stormfather would have been, yet even when Stormfather officiates Dalinars wedding, he does not manifest as a person (iirc). Even more evidence in my opinion. Stormfather is not looking for a champion in Dalinar. He is having Dalinar set the terms. Stormfather has been very uninvolved in this process beyond providing the visions. He didn't want to reveal information, and had Dalinar come to the champion conclusion on his own. We STILL don't know that Dalinar will be the champion. That seems way off compared to actively searching for a Champion in the prologue.
  8. Nale is as crazy as they come, but he still has goals he goes for, and can have a coherent conversation. I really like this quote in this context. It makes complete sense to me that Ishar, in his madness, was searching for a Champion. He, like Nale, would have sensed something coming and started to look for a solution. A quick conversation with Gavilar, or with someone close to Gavilar (Kalak for example), would reveal that Gavilar is looking for power and immortality. Ishar, as the closest thing to Honor until Dalinar, should know the contents of the visions. That doesnt seem like a stretch to me. So, what does he do? He talks to the stormfather. The Stormfather tells him to get lost, as Stormfather even in Way of Kings was not happy that he had to help. Stormfather tells us that he sees Ishar screaming at him when he passes over. I bet this is the Stormfather lying by omission, and he actually interacted with Ishar a lot more than he lets on. The Stormfather wont help, but Ishar knows what needs to be done. Someone worthy needs to be shown the visions to accept the call to action. Ishar chooses Gavilar as he is already looking for this, and he is the most powerful man on Roshar. Ishar imitates the Stormfather, which we see in the epilogue. Gavilar is too prideful and narcissistic to get the true message of the visions, and then he dies. Ishar, frustrated that he seems to have no help, 'realizes' in his madness that he needs to do it himself. He declares himself the Champion and sets off to win the war. The first thing he needs is resources, so he declares himself God King of Tukar. Think about it - Ishar has been hanging around on Roshar since they abandoned Taln. What has he been doing all this time? Since Gavilars death he has effectively taken over a nation, waged war on others, and is doing something no one has ever done before. He is trying to pull spren into the physical realm (probably to force Radiant bonds). He also retrieves his Honorblade. That is a lot of action in a small timeframe for someone who has basically done nothing for thousands of years. This also helps explain why he was immediately hostile to Dalinar. Yes, he has the Connection to Odium, but he also had a huge Connection to Honor. However, in the prologue, the Stormfaker remarks that he will never trust a Kholin again. Of course he would assume that Dalinar would have similar motivations as his brother. If not for Cultivation, Dalinar might have similar ambitions / would still be a complete drunk, so that isn't too far off. I was kind of on the fence about Stormfaker vs Stormfather, but this seals the deal for Stormfaker for me. I dont remember the Stormfather talking about Champions at all until Oathbringer. And it wasnt really his idea. He told Dalinar that is what Odium would ask for (which is true). Meanwhile, Ishar is proclaiming himself Honors Champion. EDIT TO ADD MORE EVIDENCE: Gavilar is in this vision, without being in a highstorm. The stormfather told us multiple times that he can only take people into visions if they are in the highstorm. He was able to bring Dalinar in without one due to the strength of their bond. I think this points even more to Ishar and Stormfaker. Why would the Stormfather limit himself to only highstorms with Dalinar but not with Gavilar?
  9. I think that Todium and Dalinar will have very different definitions of 'saving' the Cosmere haha
  10. I hope that the Heralds get their peace, but unless the inworld book is written after the back half, im not sure how we have herald main characters if they leave Roshar in this book.
  11. That death rattle seems to indicate to me that he needs to pick up Honor. Currently that is the fallen title. Though if Dalinar loses the contest, King of Urithiru would certainly also be a fallen title. Seems it could go either way (or both).
  12. Oh boy. Lots of things. First off, those epigraphs. Wow. Regardless, the events surrounding the cleansing of Shinovar are of specific relevance, and I am doing my best to record what I can discover of the Wind’s own words regarding them. Though, now that the Wind and Heralds have vanished, I have only two sources who can speak of these events. Excuse me where are the heralds and wind? That seems huge. Kaladin as king of Urithiru - I actually really like this possibility. I think this would be a good place for him. However, since it was suggested so early it basically cant happen. This felt like more evidence that Kaladin will ascend to Honor. Other thoughts?
  13. Do you think if a gemheart was soulcast to gold, that you could use it as a metalmind? You could start with a gold feruchemist and spike a gemheart into them, or start with a singer and spike gold feruchemy into them. This raises another question, if you spike someone to grow a gemheart, that is part of their spirit web, and then you soulcast it to gold, would they start growing a new gemheart? Would soulcasting the gemheart kill a singer? hmmmmm
  14. Entirely fair. We know for sure, at the very least, that Radiant is different from Veil in that Radiant will be harder to incorporate back into Shallan. I thought there was more evidence for Radiant being different magically, but I haven't been able to find it. It was mostly assumptions on my part but I could see Radiant being partially a magical issue. We know that her brothers (particularly Nan Balat) mental illness partially stems from proximity to an unmade, so Shallan should have some of that going on too. I really don't think Radiant is purely multiple personality disorder, but I admit that is the most likely outcome. edit: relevant wobs
  15. Throwing this out there, not sure if its been suggested or not. It could be Szeth's highspren that is writing these.
  16. This is a stupid question given that the answer is probably 'The magic takes care of that' But are blood types not a issue? I feel like having it soulcast to O- automatically is a cop out. Why would soulcasted blood automatically be the right type? Especially since Jasnah is not good with flesh soulcasting, how would she even know what type to make the blood? Since they are ignorant of blood types, does that simply not factor in? Not a big deal, but I hadnt considered that until this post.
  17. I interpreted the change of vessel as Taravangians own perception vs Rayse. Rayse hated Roshar and Rosharans and Honor and Cultivation. He would have been pressing against the fabric of reality a lot harder than Taravangian, who is from Roshar. I imagine it is Taravangians change in goals that allowed the Wind some breathing room. BAM being an ancient Ado spren that was corrupted fills a lot of blanks on how her imprisonment hurt so many things.
  18. Whoa. Lots of things. Radiants crafted the perfect heliodor that trapped BAM. That makes sense to me. The voice speaking to Kaladin is the Wind, which was leftover by Adonalsium himself. Wow! Cultivation co-opted the Nigthwatcher from an Ado spren. That makes me think that BAM was a similar creature that Odium changed. Hoid is telling us that Kaladin is going to die, so I guess he isn't? Unclear. Thoughts?
  19. Yes, that is what we are told. We have seen on numerous occasions that Shallan does not tell the truth. I propose that Radiant has been around longer than we have been told. There is some evidence for Radiant being different that I can remember. Firstly, Radiant is seen with shardplate. This could just be part of the illusion but could signify that Radiant is at a higher oath than Shallan. My main guess right now for this theory to work is that Radiant is the Shallan that didnt kill her first spren. She is the version of Shallan that is still faithful to the oaths she swore to Testament. This would explain why she still has access to her shardplate, and is consistent with Patterns explanation that the break between them was not clean, and not fully severed. This is mostly conjecture, I know, but it seems to make at least a little sense.
  20. Hello all. I had some thoughts on Shallan and wanted to put them out there in case they end up being true (highly unlikely). So I have seen the theories floating around about Radiant. That she is Chana's Honorblade and that she is Chana herself. While I fully subscribe to the Chana Davar theory (it seems basically confirmed at this point), I don't buy into any of the theories that involve Chana and Radiant. I propose an alternative. We know that Radiant is different from Veil. It seems she is not just mental illness as Veil was. There is something magical going on with Radiant. I propose that Shallan created Radiant, actually created her, from Shallan's own spiritual ideal. We know she has a weird Connection to the SR and, using Fortune, is able to draw ideals of people - who they could be or could have been. It seems obvious that Radiant would represent one of Shallan's spiritual ideals, however, im proposing that she is actually real. Shallan has been a lightweaver for a long time now, it seems plausible to me that she could have accidentally given true form to this representation. As I typed that out it seemed more ridiculous, but i'm sticking with it. For lack of better terms, I think Shallan accidentally performed an awakening on her own illusory spiritual ideal. What do you all think? Am I totally crazy?
  21. Full Cosmere Spoilers:
  22. As Kaladin describes, Stormlight pushes them to action, to do something. This is closely related to Honor, as that is the 'force' that motivates people into action (not every time obviously, some people suck). It is your Honor that compels you to speak up when someone is being mistreated, or to take action when you know you can help. There's also the connection that it literally comes from a storm but I believe its also thematic to the storm that having Honor gives you.
  23. I dont think the shard would be called War. Honor doesnt make honorlight, it makes stormlight. It would more complicated than just war. Regardless what the shard becomes, it will still have traits of honor. Killing all across the cosmere for your own selfish interests is certainly not honorable.
  24. I was thinking Tanavast as well. Another possibility is Cultivation / Nightwatcher. It seemed implied that the voice was asking for help again, rather than for the first time.
  25. Love to see it! The Journey has just begun.
