True. Honestly, I think we need more information on the alloys before we can even come close to honing in on the actual number. And that probably won't happen until more Mistborn trilogies come out.

No, because that sounds like a major privacy invasion in the makings if people aren't careful. There had better be privacy settings available for that, if they can even get it to work.

Just as long as they don't let the advertisers have too much control over it. Can you imagine walking down the street and suddenly "FREE NETFLIX TRIAL!" pops up as you're about to walk across a busy intersection? It's definitely an awesome idea, and I'll definitely consider giving it a shot when it's a reality - what SF/F geek wouldn't? - but I worry about some of the things that could be implemented if cash flows in the right (read: WRONG) directions.

Yeah, except there's still a clear difference between a point-and-shoot camera and even the best cell phone pictures. Plus, getting pictures off your phone can be a hassle, and sometimes you just want a camera and not a phone. I got this little fella out of a Best Buy vending machine as I was leaving for the Alloy of Law release, and I couldn't be happier with it. Apparently it's no longer available, but you could find a comparable model from Canon, I'm sure. It's small - but not too small - lightweight, and takes great pictures. I love it!

To be honest, Blackberry never really appealed to me for some reason. By the time I was actually able to consider getting a smartphone for myself, I'd already been converted to the Android Legion. Do you have any thoughts as to what you'll replace it with yet?

That's definitely a good point. It's unfortunate but true that certain activities seem to be perceived as "male" or "female" - and anyone who's heard my rant about how stupid it is that so many "Token Female" type RPG characters are archers and/or white mages knows how I feel about that. Heck, even advertising does it - Google AdSense thought for the longest time that I'm male, when I'm decidedly not. I'm not sure where you got the idea that we're all men, though. Before Zas and Comatose were made admins, the admin population was almost half female! (I couldn't find a pic of JUST the five of us, so you get a bonus appearance by Comatose too.) And there are plenty of other girls around here. We don't announce it to the heavens that we're female, but we're here.

I finally made up my mind and voted for Sanderfans. Shardlings is a close second, but I feel like that's a bit close to (17th) Sharders, and I know there are plenty of people out there who don't want to lump all of the fandom in with the site.

That's a good idea. Featuring fun content, like those posts and some of Will's theories, would be a lot of fun, I think. Nice one!

Well, since you already discovered it, I'll go ahead and let you in. I registered that URL back when I first joined tumblr. I wasn't sure if we were going to use it, but I wanted to make sure it was 1) there when we needed it, and 2) didn't get taken by someone who wasn't actually staff (or at least a member of the site). But since we hadn't had a chance to discuss it in a staff meeting, I didn't want to just randomly start blogging in 17th Shard's name without the other admins knowing what was going on. That's why it's there, but currently empty. Maybe we could reblog cool book reactions, fanarts, etc that we find from there as well in addition to mirroring the frontpage content. Is that something you guys would be interested in seeing? EDIT: Since you've gone and found the URL, I went ahead and skinned it. So even though it's currently empty, at least it actually looks legit. XD

Don't forget the Cosmere Family! I was sort of surprised not to see that one already linked. I'm a bit surprised, too, to hear that some of the tumblr fans are scared of 17S. Why do you think that might be? Since our whole purpose as a site is to be accessible to all of Brandon's fans, that's a bit concerning to me. Also, I've been wondering recently whether 17S should have a more active presence in the Land of Blogs and Tumbls; is this something you guys would be interested in seeing? What sort of stuff would you like to see from a 17S blog if it existed?
