  1. I tend to agree with Moogle here. There's even mention in the Vorin religion of the ten facets of the Almighty, which I tend to think of as the ten sub-intents that the spren of Honor follow. So I do believe that Shards could be split like that. The interesting question is how much power would a person who controls half a Shard have? Would they still be non-corporeal? Would they be more demigod-esque? I'd love to see this happen.
  2. I could go around with theories all day, but there is no definitive answer to either of those questions to my knowledge. Personally, I think there are enough clues to make it pretty clear that humans are not native to Roshar, but there's definitely room for debate on the subject. I don't think that Brandon will settle this anywhere but inside of a book.
  3. I'd definitely go by father's name. If it's a girl, perhaps by mothers. I don't think it's all as codified as Szeth-son-Neturo, but when Tien is being drafted by Amaram and Roshone in Hearthstone, he is referred to as Tien son of Lirin, if memory serves.
  4. Personally, i wouldn't be surprised to see a Bloodmaker heal a Shardblade wound. The main problem that I see is that none of them seem to offer a way to survive the insta-death of a Shardblade to the spine.
  5. I usually find that getting out of the house helps me out. If I spend too many days inside without talking to friends or being outside, things can get dark. It helps if you have a friend who has similar troubles, like I do. You can check up on one another, talk, and keep each other from getting too down most of the time.
  6. I'm well aware, but there's no reason to make it more complicated than it is without evidence. If we know Hoid to have Feruchemy, it stands to reason that he's probably using Feruchemy in this instance, because nothing points to it being something else. It's not for sure, but it's more likely. That's why I said it was simply an implication.
  7. Brandon confirmed it for us a while ago! There's also the implication here, although not as strongly that he can use gold Feruchemy. This also reminded me to put updating the Hoid article on my list of wiki stuff to do. xD
  8. I think what Aztec is trying to say is that since Patji itself seems to be malevolent, and there are Mistborn-like power-sets (Sak and his visions) perhaps Sazed put some of Ruin's power on First of the Sun to keep the two halves of Harmony balanced. I don't think this is the case, personally. I don't think Sazed could have done this without leaving Scadrial, and I doubt he'd want to put other worlds at risk like that. Powers granted by investiture tend to work in similar ways among different magic systems, so I think that this is just how short-term future sight tends to manifest in the cosmere.
  9. To be fair, the very first POV in the entire series was a Herald. Both books have at least one Herald POV, so I think a Nalan introduction could be a good way to bring us up to speed on his motivations quickly. That's what Jasnah's did.
  10. I was always curious if it was a coincidence or if that's just a common sort of nickname for someone who seems supernaturally lucky.
  11. I may have to look into that... Sounds intriguing.
  12. I'm cautiously opposed to the idea of the Ones Above being Scadrians. I don't have any points to make that haven't already been made right now though. Perhaps it's just that I like the idea of multiple space traveling races of human and want to see another.
  13. I'd be down for a Destiny clan. Getting pumped for the beta! Of course, before I go joining any clans, I really need to get ahold of a PS4 to go along with the copy of Destiny I preordered...
  14. This reminds me of when he read from The Emperor's Soul for the first time. No one got a recording, and all Peter would say was that it was a reading from a brand new Cosmere story that Brandon had never talked about. It was terribly frustrating. xD At least we know he's started on Stones Unhallowed. It's good to hear, even if he's just a page in.
  15. If I recall correctly, we were late in renewing our protection against the spambots once. It was basically just like a Desolation.
  16. Personally, I wanted to see more of the Aviar. We only got to see two powers in action, and one of them was extremely uncommon. It makes me wonder what the other Aviar can do. Hopefully not the last we see of them, even if it's just a nod in a later book.
  17. I think that perhaps Tezim gets a brief shout-out in book two as well.
  18. Pretty sure the nation to the south of the United Isles is called the Aztec Federation, so perhaps history went a bit differently there.
  19. Not people who don't want their posting abilities to be restricted or just banned altogether. I'm definitely on the side of the one or two questions per person rule. Last time we tried to rely on people keeping themselves to a few questions and there were a number of people who simply went over the top and asked far too many questions. Brandon ended up running out of time for people at the end. I think a more formal rule would serve us well.
  20. Captain Khal is General Khal's son; he was borrowing his father's Plate. General Khal is supposedly a full Shardbearer, so we're still off.
  21. As Eric said earlier in this topic, the filter had the word hell removed for precisely that reason.
  22. Allow me to introduce the Coppermind. It's not done, but it's getting better.
  23. As far as I am aware, there has been no explicit confirmation of your second fact, unless I've missed something new.
  24. They were rebroken where the storms met. At least one plateau was ripped free and thrown hundreds of feet into the air.
  25. This is very interesting, we'll have to try to get him on record about this later. If Honor's Purposes are something intrinsic to the Shard, perhaps they have survived in Vorinism as the Glories. People choose one of the attributes of the Almighty and try to emulate it. Even if there isn't a direct correlation any longer, perhaps something of that concept has survived to the Era of Solitude.
