  1. So I was reading WoA and a thought came to mind. Vin was aware that aluminum was Allomantically viable from her time in the prison cell. A year passes and we even find that she’s been working on an alloy. But it made me wonder if she told Sazed anything about it. They were in jail together and she could identify the metal later on. If so, then Feruchemical aluminum shouldn’t have been too hard to deduce. Remember, Allomantic and Feruchemical metals are the same, down to the alloy mixtures If so, then it makes me wonder if they could’ve discovered unkeyed metalminds. Granted, this would be tricky since the effects of storing Identity wouldn’t be obvious. However, I imagine Sazed would’ve reported to the Keepers if a new metal existed. That’s a pretty big deal. Surely, one of them would take an interest and all Feruchemists get zinc for extra sleuthing. And once unkeyed metalminds are discovered, Vin gets a huge game breaker. She and Sazed already know about how Compounding was done. Vin could only get short bursts from the metals, but even that alone would be a massive gain. Unkeyed gold makes her basically invincible and would outclass even the duralumin-pewter trick. Unkeyed iron could give her a duralumin effect with steel pushing. Even something like a burst of unkeyed zinc or unkeyed steel might’ve been useful. And Zane couldn’t mimic any of this without a Feruchemist or stealing from Sazed. No atium? No problem. Just surprise Compound. That said, I am willing to accept that the process does have some moving parts, especially in figuring out Identity. But man, even lesser Compounding could’ve been a game changer.
  2. What do you mean by “don’t have the capacity to burn them”? Check my lore but Allomancy already provides the releveant mechanisms for burning metal. You don’t need to injest it: just put it in your body. In some cases, you don’t even need consciousness to do it: just look at pewter. If it’s interference from Hemalurgic spikes, I’ll need a source. Also, there’s no reason that koloss couldn’t be tested by trace minerals in water, like Vin got. That being said, people still wouldn’t know about Koloss Allomamcers for a different reason. You could burn bronze for the test or even try outright asking if they can feel a power inside them. Which I guess could be organized by a competent Hemalurgist I think it’s possible to do what you’ve described, but if Allomancy is accessible after the transformation anyway, you might as well just spike a known Allomancer instead. I would also say you’re right for the wrong reasons about the last part. Most people wouldn’t know about Hemalurgy, but a practicing Hemalurgist could probably connect the dots.
  3. I think Ferring probably makes the most sense. From what we can glean of lerasium, its main effect is altering the spirit web and Mistborn is simply the default setting. Hence this WoB about getting sand mastery Stormlightning If Hoid was to get his hands on "bavadinium," could he alloy it with lerasium and get Sand Mastery? Brandon Sanderson This is theoretically possible. FanX 2018 (Sept. 6, 2018) We also know that if you take a metalminds made from pure metal and alloy it, the Investiture doesn’t go away: it just can’t be accessed normally Rogaen What would happen if a Feruchemist fills, for example, a tin metalmind then mixes it to make a pewter metalmind? Does the stored attribute change? Is the Investiture gone when you melt the metal? What if he just makes it into a tin metalmind again? Brandon Sanderson If you make it impure, you'll keep the investiture, but won't be able to get it out. If you make it back into the same thing, you'll be fine, and can access it normally. If you try to fill it, after changing the composition to make another viable metal, it will act a little like a computer hard drive with corrupted sectors. Some of it will work for the new investiture, but you won't be able to fill it nearly as full. (Depending on how full it was before you melted down.) This holds for basic uses of the metallurgic arts. Once you start playing with some of the more advanced parts of the magic, you can achieve different results, which are currently RAFO. General Reddit 2016 (Nov. 11, 2016) For what it’s worth, I also sincerely hope that lerasium alloyed metalminds make getting a as opposed to adding atium to a lerasium-normal metal alloy. I really like the idea that every one of the regular 16 Allomantic metals can act with a God Metal, but only once. Making three or four layer combinations like the lerasium-atium-steel idea just makes me mad and is a waste of the alloying metalminds concept in lerasium It’s also fun for every Misting to have 15 other rarer metals they can burn to do more stuff (not counting lerasium cause everyone can do that)
  4. It’s crazy to think about. I think part of it is people don’t think about the sucky parts or how quickly you can make valuable metalminds, especially compared to the more obvious burn rates of Allomancy. But some choices do actually map out. Really, pewter is the only metal you would always pick for Allomancy. But I’d say copper and bronze are both more practical as Feruchemy. Aluminum does nothing and duralumin is only useful with multiple powers. Allomantic gold is never actually useful while healing is anwesome, even if storing health sucks. And we don’t know about Chromium or Nicrosil much, but future sight sounds pretty good. Also, I would posit that electrum could be tricky to balance in Feruchemy. Put too much determination in and you could get too depressed to pull it back or even stay alive. Use it too many times and you become dependent on the boost, even without Savantism. And that’s not accounting for making stupid choices while determined. Allomantic Electrum may be hard to figure out, but if you can learn to signal yourself via the shadows, there’s probably plenty of options If you have any other thoughts on what metals people gravitate to and why, I’d love to hear them! Edit: Imagine starting a movie review channel with F-Copper. You could perfectly compare how you felt before the twist and compare it to the second watch through. And just reliving the best payoffs. You could even go as far as to forget a movie you liked just so you can rewatch it as if it were your first time. Then store the memories of the best parts.
  5. I love this concept! You’ve earned my like! Here is my list Allomantic Steel: Who can resist the terrifying fun of hovering off of coins and other such? Plus, Sazed commented that steelminds suck to fill. Feruchemical Iron: Good for playing with steel and not terrible to fill Allomantic Tin: I’d rather not be without my senses, even if it means some sensory overload Allomantic Pewter: Strong contender for the best Allomantic metal. Useful in basically every way. Far better than storing muscle, even accounting for fast burn rates. Feruchemical Bronze: I can sleep whenever I want or stay up every other day or so Feruchemical Copper: Store all of my favorite books and read them whenever . They also have pretty good mileage since Sazed could use just some big bracers to store a Keeper’s entire inventory Feruchemical Zinc: Sucks to fill but useful. Plus, I’m in the camp of “emotional Allomancy is a bit too unethical for my preference”. Feruchemical Brass: Soak in a hot tub or bath and carry that warmth for as long as I want. Plus, same Allomancy issue as zinc Feruchemical Aluminum: Allomantic Aluminum does nothing Feruchemical Duralumin: I can fade into the background or be a littler better around people. Also, I would argue Feruchemical Duralumin is more ethical than Allomancy because Duralumin mainly bolsters you instead of altering others to a significant degree. I don’t consider them to be the same Feruchemical Chromium: Wouldn’t be terrible to store if I’m in my room or something, since it’s more “future sight “than “stuff happens” Allomantic Nicrosil: Can’t say for sure without knowing more about Nicrosil, but I can’t really think of many uses for Feruchemical Nicrosil besides making unsealed metalminds and I don’t know if I could get an Excisor. Plus, helping others is nice to do Feruchemical Gold: Pewter makes storing health palatable and Allomantic Gold just sounds depressing Feruchemical Electrum: A bit risky because I don’t want to become dependent on it or accidently drain too much. If I had to choose again, I’d probably lean Allomantic Electrum, but I’d say they are relatively close to each other, even with the drawbacks of Feruchemy. Allomantic Cadmium: Makes boring times pass by and I don’t really need to not breath Allomantic Bendalloy: Could use the food and water, but I’d still prefer to find time bending shenanigans. Whats also funny is that I realized I’ve picked Mistborn on a lot of similar polls yet find Feruchemy far more practical. They do fill different niches. I also tended to avoid it because I saw filling metalminds as an awful experience, but I never respected F-Bronze and F-Copper enough. Edit: Thinking some more, I’m mostly content with my answers. However, if I’d done it again, I would probably pick Allomantic Electrum since I think I wasn’t entirely fair to it. I would also probably switch to Feruchemical Nicrosil for more control of Steelpushing, especially if I were on Earth instead of Scadrial. And I might swap to F-Tin, but could still go either way or stick with the answer I gave
  6. I imagine he was more concerned about Fullborn, which could easily be explained by the union of a Mistborn and a Fullchemist. Even Twinborn could theoretically fit this concern by indicating his Compounding trick or having a more narrow copy of it. You couldn’t definitely use this to claim Halfborn are naturally possible Funny. I never actually considered whether a Mistborn/Feruchemist match could get a Halfborn. Also, check my lore on this, but does a Mistborn need their immediate parents to be Mistborn? I don’t believe so. Even if we rule out Vin because of Preservation’s tampering, I don’t see any reason why Zane’s mother or Shan’s parents must’ve been Mistborn. Not to mention Kelsier and the unnamed ones from time to time. If that’s the case, then there’s no reason a Misting/Ferring/Twinborn with the right parents and partner couldn’t produce a Mistborn/Feruchemist. Unfortunately, the spiritual genetics component means we will probably never be able to answer that question I’d say it’s simpler than you think. Barring the Mistborn/Feruchemist gene potential, the offspring could be a Misting, Ferring, Twinborn, or normal person. Also, Brandon has already said that Mustangs and Ferrings don’t need to have the same metal as either parent Snipexe Does Allomancy's lineage play a factor in which kind of Misting they are? Brandon Sanderson Not usually. Orem Signing (March 16, 2019) So you really only have to worry about the genes that determine the amount of metals usable by the Metalborn.
  7. They can be naturally born with that mix? Interesting. I always thought that because Allomancy and Feruchemy genes interefered with each other, the two systems would match barring tampering like Hemalurgy or Lerasium. Hence, Ferrings would result from the union of a Fullchemist and a Misting. But I guess there’s no strict reason it would be impossible. What sort of parentage do you think would be necessary to pull that off and how might it compare with making Ferrings? Oh and Halfborn is a pretty cool term for these types. I’m also rather fond of the term Mistchemist and a bit less for Ferruborn for the specific types. If you have any suggestions for better terminology, I’d be happy to hear. Also imagine having to name the 32 Halfborn types, especially since Twinborn Compounders also exist.
  8. This a little would you rather. Seeing Twinborn and Fullborn made me wonder about the in between area: a Feruchemist with one Misting ability or a Mistborn with one Ferring ability. Even if they can’t be naturally born, lerasium would probably work on the right subjects and Hemalurgic definitely would. Which made me curious : what could you do with the full lineup and a metal to Compound? So I ask you, which would you rather be and why? Which metal would you Compound? For the purposes of this question, no Hemalurgic spikes will be used: just Lerasium on a natural Ferring/Feruchemist but at the lower power level.
  9. This does describe pretty well what I’m looking for. Word of Brandon implied that you could get the Breaths together and they would form a new personality that may or may not be similar to the host. I will also concede that I didn’t give proper respect to Commands and Intent within my explanation. However, I was also assuming to an extent that they were relatively minor hurdles. It would likely require an Awakener with actual experience alongside Breaths, but after that, the rest is easy. Assuming these appropriate Commands and Intent are discovered, you probably could create an entity that shares traits of Lifeless and Returned. Using existing terminology, it would probably be considered Type I because it can think. If we use the Law of Comprability on Nightbloood, we can assume you’d need around a 1000 Breaths but that also assumes Lifeless don’t get any boost from their known complex behavior. Let me clarify. I didn’t mean impractical as in something useless. I meant that it may be difficult to actually pull off. 1. If I remeber correctly, the dead don’t stay in the Cognitive Realm for long, barring extraordinary circumstances like Slivers. In other words, you don’t just need to dive into the Cognitive Realm: you’d need to be near the victim when they die. That could make some resurrections tricky 2. You’d need over 2,000 Breaths to apply. Again, could be tricky to gather. 3. Depending on how you read the resurrection process, you may need to manipulate Connection. 4. You’d still need to feed the artificial Returned Investiture on a weekly basis Though looking back, it’s mostly impractical for Nalthis as we know it now. Assuming it can assemble a greater knowledge base on Investiture and foster wider cooperation, like we see between nations today, it could see some usage. Even finding the dead isn’t a problem if you’ve prepared in advance where they will die. I could imagine some sort of center by hospitals where an Awakener is waiting on the Cognitive Realm to revive the deceased. You still might struggle with resources to varying extents, but that simply makes it less accessible, not impossible. Oh and you better not piss off Endowment somehow because that would make this whole operation way harder.
  10. A few points to make about your response to my first question 1. Saying that you couldn’t make a sapient Lifeless because it wouldn’t be a Type II is almost certainly wrong. It would be a flaw of catagorization if anything and I’m pretty sure Vasher puts Returned in the same group anyway. On top of that, there’s no reason to think that failing to make a sapient Lifeless would create a Returned instead. 2. Even if it requires more sophisticated Commands, we know that large amounts of Investiture can bring about sentience. Just look at Nightblood. And Lifeless have the advantage in this regard since they start off more complex 3. Part of why I asked about the Splinters is exactly because it’s the Breaths themeselves and not the original soul that create the new being. WoB says TurtletheFlsh What would happen if you created a Lifeless with more Breath then is necessary? Would they be more or completely human or just a Lifeless that's holding more Breath? Brandon Sanderson Lifeless with more Breath are an interesting situation. It's quite possible for the BREATH to start taking on a personality, much like a Cognitive Shadow, related to the individual. Whether or not it is actually them, though, is a big question. Note, this doesn't always happen. Often, dumping a lot of Breath in them is like sticking it in an inanimate object with no Command. /r/books AMA 2015 (June 24, 2015) 4. I’m not sure about Awakening a Returned like entity. On one hand, you could argue that the Shard is necessary to make a Physical Realm transition. If you don’t, then the soul sticks around longer like a Hemalurgic recipient but they couldn’t get back. On the other, there’s a lot we don’t know about this specific system and the broader uses of Investiture. So I wouldn’t necessarily rule out the possibility. It’s just highly impractical
  11. Hello y’all. I was thinking about sapient Lifeless and wondered what you could do with them. Some questions… 1. How many Breaths do you need to guarentee a sapient Lifeless? 2. Can you make a Lifeless from the body of a Sliver whose Cognitive Shadow was sticking around? Especially since it’s the Breath that gets a personality and not the person? 3. If a Lifeless had multiple Breaths, could you harvest better Hemalurgic spikes from them? 4. Could a Lifeless kandra or mistwraith self repair more effectively and last longer than a human? Edit: When I said Hemalurgic spikes, I was more thinking of traits like senses. Not the actual animating Breath. (though just about any trait should work) 2nd edit: To clarify, I mean sapience specifically. Not just sentience like Clod has
  12. The one catagory that doesn’t make sense to me is Inward/Decrease. I can see the Outward catagories as being what you give or take from the wirld. I can even see Inward/Increase as being to gather something for yourself. But I don’t know how Inward/Decrease works. Could you please explain your vision for what Inward generally means an how it differs from outward? Is it something about what you collect for yourself or something else? The answers would help me make further judgement
  13. As of now, we learned quite a bit about Shards in the Cosmere. We’ve seen references to 10 in the books and have the names of four others. We’ve seen the great power they wield at the cost of being changed by the Shard’s Intent. And we’ve seen a hybrid Shard arise. So I ask you. Would you use a Shard? Would you take a hybrid? If so, which ones? How would you use their power (in either the Cosmere or our world)? Why? For those of you who pick hybrid Shards, name the dual Shard’s Intent in the comments below. Bonus points if you can describe a basic concept for what magic system it might form.
  14. First, let me clarify something. I didn’t necessarily mean all savants function as I described. I was talking specifically about Savantism in God Metals. Nevertheless, the core elements of savantism are still there. Accepting so much Investiture that your body and mind change. For God Metals, the result is different. A Vessel is simply a mortal mind that has touched the Shard’s power directly and has a strong Connection to its Intent, whether natural (Vin) or artificial (Kelsier). If you can achieve this, your mind can hop in the driver’s seat of the Shard and Ascend. The effect of God Metal Savantism fulfills these conditions by infusing your mind with power through your established Connection. The other point of contention here is how much power the Shard would expend to create the necessary God Metals. At the very least, a Shard should be able to benefit from Investiture recycling. We know that the autumn cache from HoA would’ve recycled to Ruin eventually. If we take a similar stance with Lerasium, you could theoretically burn the physical amount of metal required for Savantism using the same bead each time: recreated by Preservation after burning. But what ultimately makes of breaks this argument is what you believe Investiture is doing in the Cognitive and Spiritual realms. I got the impression that trying to drain all of that power would be like trying to drink the ocean: basically impossible. But that also assumes God Metals don’t provide much greater power in those two realms. I just don’t yet buy that making enough lerasium for Savantism would transform the entire Shard into metal. But I’m happy to hear counterarguments and new perspectives.
  15. This is a sister poll to one I did recently on the pure metals. This time around, I wanna see just the alloys. Certainly easier than the pure metals, but I’m curious to see how it shakes out. And I’ve got a few more tricks in my back pocket. If you had to be a Metalborn of alloys, which would you choose and why?
  16. I’d have to disagree with this interpretation. My theory is that becoming a Savant doesn’t literaly put most of a Shard’s power in the God Metal. Instead, accepting that pure power into your soul creates a heavy connection that attaches you to the Shard. Effectively, you craft a “key” for yourself. As for the bigger question of dual ascending, I think the biggest problem would be reconciling the Intent. Brandon implied that Sazed would’ve become Discord or some similar Shard immediately if he hadn’t been able to control Preservation and Ruin chasmfriend's friend (Paraphrased) My friend asked for Brandon to write something about Harmony in her Alloy of Law. Brandon Sanderson There's another name Harmony could go by if he weren't able to control the conflict between his halves… *to Zas* Have you guys figured that one out yet? Oh, I'm not going to say anything. You have it on recording… I was pretty sneaky with that one so I don't know if you have it or not. Holiday signing (Dec. 12, 2015) I’d say you probably have to create a compatible Intent when Ascending or otherwise become a chaos shard. This would be easier for more compatible Shards and really hard for creating Harmony. For all we know, Sazed may have been the only person who could’ve held Harmony for any significant time.
  17. As we all know, alloys are pretty busted in the Metallic Arts. It has such favorites as Steel and Pewter. But since the pure metals don’t see as much love, I wanted to challenge you guys. If you had to be a Metalborn of pure metals, which would you choose and why?
  18. Personally, I think a better name for an iron compounder would be Orbit. Just like the planets, they revolve heavy objects around themselves and attack. Doesn’t make them immune to early death, but at least the name isn’t mocking them Pewter-Duralumin should be something like Commander. The name should suggest a fighter who also can rally their troops Iron-Tin could be something like Radar. Many would be known for storing steel sight and using it as a detailed sense. Which lets them know who’s coming
  19. Give a doll 1,000 breaths like Nightblood and command it to serve butter. Give your cat the 10th Heightening just so you can see the pretty colors Make an entire hive of Lifeless wasps and use them to painfully sting your enemies
  20. I’m pretty sure A-Gold would also pair well with F-Aluminum and Forgery. Oversleep How useful would gold Allomancy be for making Essence Marks? Brandon Sanderson Useful. Skype Q&A (Oct. 8, 2018) The other combo of magic systems that comes to my mind is a Bendalloy compounder with Sand Mastery. In other words… 1. Speed bubbles to dodge any attack and set up sand 2. Infinite water to never get dehydrated 3. Perhaps even stronger Sand Mastery because you can work your dehydration muscles to much higher levels than a regular Sand Master
  21. I don’t think it’s as simple as the cognitive block. If it were, then all kandras should have the ability to do Feruchemy. Even if there is a Snap equivalent for Feruchemy, it should be noticeable over 1,000 years and something Rashek wouldn’t allow. That being said, I think it’s possible that the Feruchemy genes are still there. In fact, it would explain why Rashek transformed them at all. What if he knew that he couldn’t get rid of the ability itself and instead settled for making them unable to breed with humans? We don’t have any reason to believe kandras and humans are compatible. It’s not impossible that Rashek deleted the Feruchemy but that makes it weird that he changed his friends. And I don’t think immortality is the answer, because he could’ve rewarded them in other ways, like making them Mistborn. The only problem you’re left with is that the abilites should’ve appeared somewhere in kandra history. A Snap equivalent event and isolationism could explain it, especially if the remaining ones hide their abilities or join the Keepers. However, I also wonder if Hemalurgic spikes are the problem. I don’t know the specifics of Feruchemy, but I could believe it requires some balance of Investiture from the Scadrial shards. Hemalurgy would add extra spiritwebs and Investiture from Ruin, which could throw them off. If a Shard made them sentient, that would open up Feruchemy. But that’s just my theory. In short, I wouldn’t dismiss the idea, but I also think there has to be some other factor to explain why we don’t know any natural Kandra Feruchemists when there should be. If you can answer that, then the theory is solid.
  22. 1. I would do Steel compounding because it’s versatile and seems fun. Running around at the speed of a car or faster would be great. The Allomantic Steel doesn’t hurt either. Copper and Zinc are close seconds 2. Pewter. While I do think steel is better when mastered, pewter is versatile and easy to learn. That extra strength and other stuff wokis be handy. 3. Duralumin. It seems like it’s easy to go without Connection for a time and filling a metalminds would make it easy to gain privacy. Since it’s so low cost, I could also store lots and have it available to win people over Not sure what you would call a Pewter-Duralumin Twinborn. Commander perhaps? Because more militantly minded users could fight and rally their soldiers?
  23. Generated one named after Vin’s alias, Valette. As a Seeker, Valette can use Allomantic Bronze. Seekers are able to detect nearby use of Allomancy. Additionally, as an Archivist, Valette can use Feruchemical Copper. Archivists can store memories inside copperminds. When an Archivist stores a memory in a coppermind, it immediately disappears from their memory. Memories stored in a coppermind are filed individually and are not seen as one whole memory to the Archivist. Some call the combination of a Seeker and Archivist a Metalmapper. Metalmappers are meticulous chroniclers of Metalborn. Twinborn combinations create subtle new effects which are not well known at this time. These types make really good academics. I can just see a Metalmapper hanging out in a lab and recording the results of scientific tests. It’s one of those quality of life improvements
  24. I was thinking about Feruchemical Aliminum, trying to think of how it could ever be made useful in any Twinborn. The only use I had ever thought of in the past was combining with pewter and trying to “heal” into someone else. But then, I thought of one other crazy idea. I want you guys to look at my theory and critique it. To start, it requires two premises. Premise 1: Many Allomantic metals emanate effects from the Spiritual center of self This one shouldn’t be too difficult. From the Alloy of Law Ars Arcanum, we know that this is why steel and iron lines go to the chest. However, I believe it has greater applications. Questioner So, if we switch to Scadrial, and I had lined the inside of my hat with aluminum, I'm protecting myself from emotional Allomancy. What if I was able to use emotional Allomancy? Would that block me? Brandon Sanderson So, it's going to interfere a little bit. But the issue with that is, a lot of Allomancy is coming from center and going to head. So, you're probably still gonna be okay with the helmet... So, I'm gonna say, you don't want a lot of aluminum around you, but you could probably still make it work. Oathbringer release party (Nov. 13, 2017) Soothing and Rioting come from the chest just like the lines. I’m also assuming the same rule applies for copper clouds and the time bubble metals. This will be relevant later Premise 2: In the absence of Identity, cognitive behavior (thinking) can change the location of this center of self This one is where I stretch. We know that cognitive perception does affect spiritual expression, like how you can’t heal an injury you see as part of yourself. My theory has always been that if you had little to no Identity, you could basically replace your Spiritual ideal with whatever you imagined. Hence, a short man who burned Pewter with no Identity could imagine himself to be tall and he would heal accordingly. If we take Premise 2 a step further, it is possible that one could replace their center of self with another place they can see or maybe even just remeber perfectly. Already, this could work for some Twinborn. Coinshots or Lurchers could suddenly move metals in totally different directions. Cadmium Twinborn could summon their time bubbles over someone else. But the really fun applications are for Fullborn or crazy Hemalurgists. Compounding copper could carry Allomantic effects to a place you remember. The Lord Ruler could’ve suddenly dropped a burst of super Soothing without ever leaving the castle, as long as he had copper minds with his targets. You might even be able to go a step farther and trick the Spiritual Realm into letting you see targets. Imagine burning malatium and dropping a slow bubble on your enemy when they were getting a morning coffee. Probably works better for time metals, but you could argue the others do too. Alternatively, you could use duralumin-Atium and try to work across location. Mail your friends a coppercloud overseas. The final thing I should clarify is Connection. It may be that Connection handles your plhysical location instead. In that case, Fullborn can simply blank their connection via F-Duralumin: it only really hurts Twinborn. But I also didn’t mention it because I saw Connection as a broad strokes brush. It would remember which street you’re on but not your exact coordinates. In other words, the hack works in your line of sight. Personally, I’d rather let the Twinborn have it for artistic reasons, unless I’m missing some other contradiction Anyway, that’s my theory. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
  25. You can also argue blanking Identity could be useful too. The steel/iron lines are in the chest because it’s the “spiritual center of self”. In fact, I think you could argue even more metals work this way Questioner So, if we switch to Scadrial, and I had lined the inside of my hat with aluminum, I'm protecting myself from emotional Allomancy. 13, 2017) Soothing and Rioting come from the chest, just like steel lines. I assume time bubbles and copper clouds work the same. What makes this interesting is that Cognitive perception also affects Spiritial alignment. It’s why you can’t heal injuries you perceive as part of yourself. My theory is that F-Aluminum can blank the connection to your Spirtual side enough that even basic thinking (Cognitive aspect) decides. So if you blank your Indentity while burning steel, just picture yourself across the road and that’s where the magic thinks you are. So you can put external effects wherever you want. Imagine a Twinborn with A-Cadmium who just casually puts slow bubbles anywhere they want. Just don’t try healing them though. That could be tricky
