topgolf yesterday was a ton of fun! however, i now have a giant, swollen bruise on my hand because my grip on the club was slightly off (i’m just a little too tall for the clubs) so i was holding like the very very end at the bottom of my palm (the club was just slightly too short)

so the side of my hand is now in pain and i like can’t touch anything with it or it hurts lol

i was getting out of bed this morning and i like pushed myself up to sit and i was like OW WHAT THE SCUD

and yep

you can’t rlly see it but it hurts

also we’re prepping for my birthday party today! i’m so so so so so so excited :3

i got almost 11 hours of sleep last night so i’m set for tomorrow

STORY TIME

ok so

our whole neighborhood just got new internet

but they haven’t buried the line yet so it’s just running through everyone’s backyards

and they’re gonna bury it in a couple of weeks and we just have to be careful around it until they can bury it

now i live in a wealthier neighborhood even though my family isn’t necessarily wealthy

we’re like regular middle class (most of these people are like upper upper middle class)

and our neighbors hire people to mow their lawn

and they didn’t know about the line

and they ran the line over

and threw the broken end over our fence

so now we have no internet

we don’t know when it’s gonna get fixed or who has to pay for it (probably the mowing guys) but it’s really annoying

for the time being, my dad’s switching back over to our cancelled plan but like bruh

and we just got the line installed on saturday

so it’s been like 4 days

oh well

first world inconveniences everybody

on a better note, it’s my little brother’s birthday today, so we’re going to topgolf this evening

it’s my birthday on sunday, and i’m having my birthday party from friday into saturday (MY PARENTS ARE LETTING ME HAVE A SLEEPOVER AND I STILL CAN’T BELIEVE IT A LITTLE BIT AND ALL MY FRIENDS WHO I INVITED CAN COME AND IM SO EXCITED BECAUSE THEYRE ALL MY POOKIES AND I LOVE THEM ALL SO MUCH) and i designed the invite myself :3

one of my favorite things about epic III is how orpheus doesn’t attack hades

he literally just tries to understand and sympathize with him, pointing out the things they have in common BEFORE pointing out his faults 

but he does so gently, and hades responds in kind

idk i just think it’s beautiful

i wrote 2.25 pages today at writing club! i’m very proud of myself

i’m rlly tired tho

like super tired

ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh it’s too early to be awakeeee i’m so tired

we moved our voice lessons to the morning for today and we have to leave in like forty minutes and i’m exhausted 

also i don’t sing well in the mornings lol

oh well lol

i quite literally woke up today thinking it was monday

i woke up at 10 and was like “oh i have a writing meeting in 2 hours” and i was like “ok shower quick and get ready so u have time before” and i took a 17 minute shower and got dressed and went downstairs and my dad was home and i was like “uhhhh”

and he was making coffee and my little brother was making a steamer (we always have hot drinks on sunday mornings) and i was so confused and i got my phone out and looked at the date and it was sunday and i don’t think i’ve ever been so whiplashed in my life

like i went through the 5 stages of grief in the course of 30 minutes 

*when you go to work on your drawing and open your drawing app to see an almost fully-rendered piece staring back at you*

lol it’s always either leagues better or so much worse than i remember

this one was better and now i’m not so sure anymore …

i’ll go first

i finished the cake yesterday afternoon (finally!)

that thing was a MONSTER

it’s hadestown themed

four tiers, bottom two tiers are red velvet, and the top two are vanilla 

the dark bottom tiers represent the underworld, and the top vanilla layers represent the above-ground world

and the frosting in between them is like a dusky purple and gets lighter as it goes up, like the dawn (doubt comes in, anybody?) 

the outside also gets lighter towards the top, but that’s more for aesthetics

it’s like ashy grey and represents the wall

and then on the top there are carnations and a railroad track and footsteps (iykyk and iyd then GO LISTEN TO HADESTOWN)

and then red piping on it

probably not my finest pipe-work, but i’m learning lol

this is like only the third cake i’ve ever decorated so—

(it’s also so lopsided from the other sides )

and yes. that is the turntable out of my microwave. shhh.  

did i mention how much of a hassle it is to get buttercream frosting to just BE RED? i used an embarrassing amount of food coloring and it STILL wasn’t red enough so i went on the internet and it said to microwave it (it brings out the pigment) and then put it in the fridge to let it cool down and re-whip it

and it worked! the texture was slightly different and it tasted vaguely like melted butter so i had to add more powdered sugar and vanilla but then it was good!

i’ll let y’all know how it tastes lol

time to bake a cake

i have never baked a cake that actually turns out how i want it to like something always goes wrong

but i’m learning and i want to get more into baking because cake decorating is honestly so much fun so

we’ll see how this goes

wish me luck!

hey guys  

i’m interested in self-improvement this summer

and one of those things that i’m trying to work on is my screen time cuz it was out of control yesterday

(it was like 9 hours )

4 of those hours was youtube shorts so um i know which app we’re deleting first

my anti-generative AI behind also spent like an hour and a half on ChatGPT just messing around so i need to actually practice what i preach and not use it as much or at all

and then i also want to start working out

like hello i’ve had that goal for like two years and i still am not swoll

i beat people at arm wrestling and that’s basically it

my older brother started going to the gym recently, though, and i’m hoping i can start tagging along with him

i wanna get abs for when the fine shyt is looking (iykyk)

(help i’ve become such an ipad kid)

i have a writing club meeting today from 12-3 (AKA we’re starting at twelve and ending like 6 hours later than said end time lol. we have so much fun) but i just woke up and it starts in an hour and a half and i am neither physically nor mentally prepared

it’s gonna be fun tho

anyway all that said, i know i’ve already been less active, but i’m probably gonna be even more less active until i get my poop in a group lol

aiming for no more than 3 hours of screen time per day and once i can start getting consistent with that then i’ll feel better about myself lol

oh also guess who has a 248 day spanish duolingo streak (haly and i have a 228 day friend streak which is basically the only reason my streak was able to get that high ) SO YES BE PROUD OF ME AND ALSO BE PROUD OF HALY

anyway imma go start getting ready for writing meeting cuz i gotta leave in like one hour and i currently look disgusting
