i love having days that are productive but not busy

like you're getting stuff done but it's not in a rush. it's not pressured. it's just productive because you wanted it to be

it's very like calming and also empowering i feel like because it's like wait i can get stuff done that I want to do just because i want to do it, not because anybody's asking it of me

today i had a good breakfast, stretched, worked out, hung out with my little bro, started the laundry, did some sketches, and sang some songs (and taught myself body percussion for one of them that's fairly simple but is much harder than it should be with the rhythm of the song--it's half syncopated and half on the downbeats so it's like bruh). i'll share my creative endeavors today because why not? i feel like i havent shared in a while so yes

this took me five hours and fifty minutes. there are over nine thousand brush strokes! it was a ton of fun and it was great to get my creative juices flowing again. song lyrics are from Yellow by Coldplay

the other day, i was getting ready for my choir concert

and i was like

i don't really have the time or mental energy to do my makeup

but then i was like wait

my old makeup look takes less concentration and precision

(my new one uses liquid liner and the old one just uses dark eyeshadow as liner)

and i was like it actually looked kinda cute kinda miss it

guys. 

i am never going back. it is so cute. 

i'm not gonna put pictures of my face on the internet however i will find some pictures that maybe look similar to my makeup and put them here

it's kinda like this but i use dark browns instead of black because the brown complements the blue in my eyeballs better than black

and i use glitter on my inner corners, browbone, and nose because i can never get enough sparkle

i also dont have that many freckles unfortunately

but that's like kinda what it looks like

me because my giant writing portfolio is due tomorrow and my printer won't connect to my laptop >:(((( so frustrating

hello wonderful people

day 3 of ren faire costume making was yesterday

i don't know how many hours i worked but i made some really good progress

i added seaweed- and kelp-esque  elements to the skirt (it will probably be receiving more today though) as well as some more beading 

and i painted the ocean on one of the sleeves (i'm painting the other one today)

i would post pictures from yesterday but i really don't have any good ones so after i  work on it today i'll try it on and send pics!

me when i slept like half the day and i'm still level 10 exhausted (i didn't go to school)

i have officially started my ren faire costume!!!

i had a stroke of genius yesterday as i remembered that i had bought this dress

off of amazon like six months ago

and it was so so pretty but i just didn't have anything to wear it (i wanted to make it feel more unique to me and more special but since it's so nondescript while also being a specific style, i was having a lot of trouble), and some parts of it still felt cheap (the appliqués were not secured around the edges, just kind of haphazardly sewn on, and the ribbon used to secure the corset with was TERRIBLE and wouldn't stop fraying so i had given up frustratedly on using it for anything (even though it had cost me like sixty bucks).

well, fast forward to yesterday, i magically remembered that this dress not only existed but that i literally had it. in my closet. so i took a trip to hobby lobby that did in fact leave my wallet screaming () and i bought seashells, starfish, so many beads, new corset string (i wanted it to look ocean-y, so i got golden cord), lace, and i swear i also bought things for my ear thingies im gonna make BUT I CANT FIND THEM. but it's fine. 

anyway, this is my progress from yesterday:

i ripped off ALL THE APPLIQUÉS and am going to replace with beads and shells and things. i don't know if i'll have enough beads to go all the way around the waist, so i might have to create a gradient situation that fades out toward the back. i also want to have some beads and gems like on the actual skirt.

i'm going to paint the bottom of the skirt and sleeves to look like ocean waves, and i bought this super super super cute trim that i'll hem them with. i will be adding more seashells and whatnot to the bodice (sides, back, front), and more beads

i'm also going to make netted pieces and fake seaweed to sew on because i want to look like a siren that was once glamorous but was kind of dragged from the deep

i'm going to be making some fake fangs to wear, and i also want to make some barnacles to put on my dress and on my arms and stuff. may or may not also make scales, i'm not sure yet, but i will be making nails and stuff, and i'll also probably be weathering the dress once everything is attached and secure. 

I AM SO EXCITEDDDDDD

the only question now is what am i going to wear underneath it

 anyway yes that's day one! i'll be posting progress pics every day that i work on it

when he's canonically eight inches taller than she is but not because she's like petite or anything (she is a tall and intimidating and imposing woman), he's literally just tall

okay chat i have three full weekends to get my ren faire fit together

i think i've settled on siren

but i'm a little iffy with how i should execute it

we held a memorial thingie for her and it was really good

but i'm back to school today and it's chill and i'm super excited for writing group after!!

guys i broke my toe and i have prom on saturday

me when i think i see my friend at school but it's someone else cuz i suddenly remember that she died a year ago

me when i come home from school, having had a very productive day, ready to do my nails for prom but somehow i look up and i just doomscrolled for three hours

me when i finally get up to set up my nail station and i can't find the extension cord
