Today’s dress rehearsal was just…
just…
just…….
ALL OF IT. EVERYTHING. IT WAS EVERYTHING.
Mal and I THREW DOWN in Full Disclosure (we got a fricking standing ovation—though I guess I should say jumping and ecstatic “YESSS!”ing ovation from my director—and everyone else on the stage). It was absolutely EPIC. I just hope I can remember exactly how I delivered it tonight so it can happen like that every time.
Crazier than you also became much better, we’re doing more each time so that it becomes less weird. (Well Mal takes off his suit coat and throws it behind him and also loosens his tie very dramatically for Alice which could be perceived as weird by some but I think it’s just fun to be completely honest). We also kind of just made bigger choices! I feel like maybe we should dance too (the Dancestors are our backup dancers basically and the leads aren’t dancing in this song but I feel like they should), but who knows? We should check with the director probably… anyways sorry went off on a tangent.
This all goes to say that the musical is gonna be awesome. Nebraskans who would like to try and see it:George Russell Middle School gym

So... last night was kind of crazy. The dress rehearsal was pretty okay, but I was NOT on top of my game by any means so it was a little scary :P :3 And then I had to do some overdue homework and that kept me up until midnight. That made me late to school this morning and I also had to skip breakfast.
SpoilerWe have MAP testing (standardized testing) today in Algebra and I basically did the opposite of what they tell you to do the day before/day of the test... the three things you need to do is
1. Go to bed early and get a lot of rest
2. Eat a healthy breakfast
3. Drink lots of waterAnd I did none of those :P
Anyway back to the rehearsal--
During a scene where I go crazy, my mic drops my voice, but the backstage crew has to push a button that Firkins has deemed "Alice's Scary Button"--sometimes interchanged with my real name instead of Alice's. But apparently Firkins had forgotten to turn it off the night before, so my scary button was on during a scene where I'm over-the-top pleasant and all: "What a lovely dress, Wednesday!

So that's like the two-thirds of the way done picture, I'll post a picture of the finished thing a little later because it's being naughty and won't upload now. I'll also post a picture or two to show you guys how covered in paint I was. I was there from 11:30 AM to 9:30 pm yesterday, and it was a TON of fun. (minus a few sixth graders... coughcough) I also almost had a mental breakdown but then I called my friend Melina so she could yell at me in Spanish and that helped
This week, I have dress rehearsals Mon (today) thru Thursday from 3:30-9:00 and then opening night is Friday at 7:00 and we have two shows on Saturday, one at 2 and one at 7.
I seriously can't wait.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA
Okay so a few things happened yesterday that were super epic.
First, I FINALLY got highlights in my hair so that's happy, and it's going to be great for the musical. But it also took SIX HOURS. Like.... why did it take that long?? I had to skip lunch, and I was so hungry
I also was sitting in a chair for five and a half of those hours. The hairstylist said it would take, like, four max, but I guess it depends on how your hair processes the dye. Especially cuz she opted out of using bleach.
Second, OUR SET LOOKS SO FREAKING COOL IT'S LITERALLY INSANE HEHEHEH. I'll post pictures after rehearsal today (yesterday we had it from 10-7 but I missed most of it so I have to make it up today from 10-7 lol). The set should be nearly finished, if not done, by then. I can't wait
Third, my little sister had her last swing choir performance. It was cute.
Also, now I have to finish a history project worth 40 points that was due on Friday... whoopsies. Wish me luck!

Also, I got a 78 on a unit history test... yikes. I still have an A, though, so that's good.

I am insanely scatterbrained today.
BUT!
It made for some pretty solid acting if I do say so myself
We reblocked a scene that was being awkward so that's nice. Now I don't have to trip over my own feet because I'm trying not to trip over the-kid-who's-playing-Mal's feet while linking arms with him and singing and looking at my "son". Sound awkward? Well, it was. Now, though, I have a different like hold on his arm or whatever and we walk differently and all that jazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Anyways, I have a ton to do but I'm just bored so I decided to write this SRSU.

I have to say this really weird thing to the guy playing my husband, and I didn't feel comfortable (it's awkward okay you'd have to be there in person) so one of my directors said that I could rewrite the line! The line is "Oh, Mal, I missed you, pumpkin! Come to Mama!"
