  1. I mean this would make more sense for some other properties given that Brandon has written short story fiction for MTG already and he's a huge MTG player/fan But I don't know if I see it happening just yet
  2. That's an interesting theory and welcome to the site! Personally I've always read it as a joke/not joke or allegory that told us before we knew it about Shallan's history/past Her father descended into madness while he watched his children starve emotionally to the point where more than one of them died or nearly died and who knows what would have happened had Shallan not saved them from their father and themselves
  3. I still love the Shallan's Mom theory personally, but that WoB doesn't seem to support it that much IMO Like... nothing in Shallan's story is "pretty obvious" for supporting her extra Spiritual insight Two Spren? That was not "obvious" until end of RoW Her mom is a Herald... is still not "obvious" though it's a great theory, esp with the SA5 prologue timeline I think for HIM it's all very clear, but for us who are nipping at shadows and scraps, none of it is obvious in my opinion
  4. Well, if you are "C" Connected to a planet, it is almost impossible to leave that planet's area of the CR (with all known methods currently), but presumably physical travel in space is not limited in the same such way If you can do it safe and fast enough, the Connection can't hold you back in the physical Realm. I think we've seen indications of that in some of the info in the Year of Sanderson stories
  5. Agreed, Era2 is supposed to fall in the SA5 to 6 gap I very much assumed that the Ars reference was to Xixis in Lumar (once that book came out) but Xixis has been on Lumar for at least 300 years by the time of Tress! I'm of the mind that either Lumar is after Roshar in their Long Trail or there are multiple groups of them out there, it's the only way the timeline can work because they were on Roshar for a LONG time as far as we know
  6. Thanks! I was looking in the wrong book for that section. It was in my mind, but I was searching OB for it!
  7. Yes and/but... Kaladin thinks that Zahel can see her, but Zahel never confirmed that, and I don't think he can actually "see" Syl. He senses her presence via investiture so its a different type of sensing rather than sight
  8. Pretty sure he can't "see" her as much as detect her Investiture presence. I think he says as much either there or elsewhere Which would be down to his level of investiture and his experience using it while Azure doesn't have the same level of either not having a divine breath or centuries of experience more
  9. I wonder if this is going to play into Space Age Mistborn and FTL travel - boosted Metallic Arts/power via metallic sublimation? Since Bendalloy is an alloy of Cadmium and Cadmium sublimates at 75C in a vacuum...
  10. Yeah, this one is hard to beat I wonder if you had another jar of Dor, could you create an Essence Mark of being a master Awakener with thousands of breaths and have the purified Dor take on the form of Breaths?
  11. I don't think there is enough time in 10 days to accomplish all the different missions Find BAM's location (may already be known at the start of SA5 depending on what Kelek shared), travel there, release BAM Go to Shinovar (which we know they don't leave the day the agreement is made so is already a shorter than 10 day time frame), find Ishar, swear an oath to bring him to sanity long enough for him to fix something hopefully, then get him back to Urithiru in time to train Dalinar before the... I'm exhausted just typing it all. Continue to secure the lands they've already retaken against sudden strikes Find someone to look over the contract in more detail (including travel time) deal with whatever wrenches TOdium/El throw at "Team Honor" in the next few days There is just too much to do for the 10 days to be the entirety of the book IMO Honestly the one I'm most concerned about is the Ishar/Shinovar mission and how they could possible accomplish that inside of 10 days to allow Ishar any time at all to train Dalinar in a meaningful way. I just don't think it can get done.
  12. I would say this...we don't know that SA 5 will take place over 10 days. Unless I missed it (which could very well be the case I admit), I haven't seen that confirmation from him. If it's out there, please point me to it! It could very well be that the 10 days happens over just Part 1 or some subset of parts and then a whole part is dedicated to mid-point of the series epilogues a la TLM The reason I raise that, is because the Kaladin/Szeth mission just... doesn't seem to mesh well with completion in a 10 day time frame to me and I feel like the 10 days is going to happen, TOdium will wiggle out through a loophole that will leave all the rapid loophole theorizers disappointed their theory wasn't right, and we'll have 3/4 or 2/3 of the book to deal with and establish the new status quo in Roshar
  13. For sure, but they still represent a technological edge/advantage the Northern Scadrians don't/didn't have. I mean Southern Scadrians have the power of flight. That alone would be enough to ignite hostilities between nations without the Bands even being present
  14. The Southern Scadrians already have medallion tech. There was no need for the Bands to be in place to create conflict, it would/could have arisen narratively without the bands present If Kelsier put the Bands at that Temple is was the weirdest/dumbest decision he's made in the stories so far. I hope we get more details on it in the future
  15. I would hazard a guess that the reason he worked so hard with the Southern Scadrians to develop unkeyed metalminds was to find a way to get his powers back to some degree
  16. Only if they forcefully used spikes on unwilling participants should there be any talk of confiscation. Though I don't think that's happening right now anyway. Otherwise, leave them alone. And if people want to go get spiked and turn Koloss, more power to them I suppose!
  17. For the first question, I would wake up in Hallendren right after the Warbreaker craziness. Plenty of opportunity to advance in the chaos and start building a store of breaths If I could wake up in any place and any time? Ugh.. that'd be hard Probably Roshar in the far future, so I could know how the story ends ... I also (like everyone) think I could probably attract a spren, so post SA10 hopefully that would be easier/safer than other times?
  18. LOL - Monty Python's Olympic Hide & Seek - COSMERE edition! https://montypython.fandom.com/wiki/The_Olympic_Hide-and-Seek_Final
  19. It would be very interesting to see a reflex test for someone compounding Feruchemical steel vs. a highly invested person like a Herald or Returned. We've seen them all move with blinding speed "on screen" before, though its unclear to what level. I also wonder if Feruchemical brass to store the warmth of going too fast with Feruchemical steel would help there. Marsh really just needs to get himself another 10 spikes to be a Hemalurgic Fullborn I agree generally, especially if they don't know Marsh is coming. Not quite as easy if the opponent were stocked up with a healing investiture like Stormlight, but potentially.
  20. Sorry, didn't mean to imply that Marsh was restricted from Worldhopping on his own. That was more a reply to the previous post where someone called out that Marsh viewed himself as part of the "tripod" with Saze/Kelsier and so wouldn't leave Scadrial until Kelsier found a way off.
  21. That is a fair point on the tripod sentiment, though I don't think Marsh is looking particularly stable either, so its all very tenuous! We know one of Kelsier's goals, so there seems to be to me a window for Marsh to leave world as well if Kelsier achieves his goal. I do have to say that I'm so very scared for Sazed/Scadrial's future. The glimpses of Future Cosmere we've seen are so very bleak
  22. Lets start the petition now with Brandon to get Ironeyes on Roshar and get him to embody death for a 3rd planet!
  23. How are you defining "Power" here in the title? Just raw combat potential? Deep Cosmere knowledge? Wealth? Influence? I would think if pressed, he'd be a powerful combatant who could rival Heralds with his F speed and other combination of powers He may rival many other Cosmere aware entities which may or may not give him an edge, though there is only (very) limited reason to think he's been off Scadrial Influence? Well he's the personification of Death on at least 2 worlds, so would have influence on anyone who he reveals himself to and there is power in that as well.
  24. I really like this idea/theory and I never considered it They do line up really well from a "symptoms" perspective I would think that from a diagnosis perspective they line up as well IMO Elantris & SA Spoilers just in case
